I played 18 holes to see how the course had modified Hole 15, formerly a downhill par 4, but now a challenging downhill par 3. One of the features of Hole 15 is a long green that is difficult to hit in regulation because the extreme L-to-R slope off the hillside. Even if you hit your approach by aiming at the hillside, there's no guarantee that your ball ends up on the green. I gave this course five stars because of the well-maintained greens and practice areas. On this day, I rode in a cart, but I usually walk the course with a pull cart. read more

This course is great for sharpening your short game skil set. It's a short 18 hole configuration which is affordable, plays in about 2 hours or so, has ample practice space and normally during non peak times, it's first come first served. Staff is super cool and accommodating. Grounds aren't perfect, but for a quick round, you can't beat it. Tee boxes and greens are decent. Advanced players may not even need a driver on this course. This review is only for the driving range. We came here in October for a large bucket of balls each. There was no one else on the driving range, and I now understand why. The range needs a lot of work. It felt more like an abandoned lot, or an afterthought. There were no tee off areas. It was just a strip of grass with some wood pickets on the ground that you lay yourself to separate you from the next player. Fortunately, since it was just the two of us, it wasn't a big problem. It is not a covered Driving range even though there are covers and behind us. I'm not sure why they did not utilize the covered areas as it was incredibly hot in Colton at that time of the year. We ended up leaving early. The grass was all dead. It was not a range that I would ever try again. read more

Our son wanted to hit a bucket of balls while we were down here looking at colleges. Rolled up and it's ridiculously inexpensive--as of April 2025, $16 for 100. And they let you borrow drivers for free. Grass is green, mats are well-worn, people are super-friendly and very low-key. I spectated with a Ritual IPA ($8) and he got through 196 before a blister set in. Even saw a Vermilion Flycatcher flitting around the 50-yard mark. You'd be hard-pressed to find a more relaxed golf place. Highly recommended. read more

Great time! Went with two other Memorial Day (today) and expected it to be busy, which it was. Everyone was laid back and very respectful. Had a blast playing 18. Course is walkable but I would say to get a cart. Went into the shop around the turn and the gentlemen in there were very nice! Got some beers and some jerky and onto the back nine we went! As a beginner golfer, this course is a great course to learn on. It has 3 Par 4s the rest are Par 3's. My home course. Friendly, great customer service. A small clubhouse that sales basic snacks and drinks (Beer, soda, water, Gatorade). Smash Burgers on the weekends. I love this place, definitely recommend it's a great value. It's challenging enough to have you +10 on the first half but also not too stressful for beginners to pick up the game. Hole #4 & #5 have water that a beginner could build good confidence with as well as three par 4s (2 in the front 9, 1 in the back) The greens roll pretty well, and the holes range from about 90 to 300 yards give or take. They always have a very friendly staff. Been coming here with good friends damn near every week for like the last 3 months and intend to continue and work on my game. read more

I'm a big fan of Colton Golf Club. You don't play here for the country club atmosphere or amenities; this is blue-collar golf all the way. Yes, the greens aren't the fastest or smoothest and the course is a bit rough around the edges (and a lot of other places). But when I can play 18 holes of golf for $10-$14 (with a cart, depending on their current Twitter, Facebook , or e-mail specials), I'm not expecting the Inland Empire's version of Augusta National. The front nine is the longer half of this executive course (par 57), with the longest hole on the course here (par-4 305-yard 2nd) and two par 3s that play over water (163-yard 4th and 146-yard 5th). The back nine features the course's toughest hole, an uphill 197-yard par-3. The course has lights, so you can get your golf fix after work. Practice facilities include a putting green, chipping area, practice bunker, and a driving range with grass and mat tees. The pro shop has a few items for sale, along with used clubs. Obviously, you're not at Golfsmith or Roger Dunn, but in a pinch I'm sure you'll find what you need for your round. The snack bar is nothing fancy but serviceable: hot dogs, chips, beer, and other snacks, along with shots (!) of tequila, whiskey, etc. This past Labor Day they had a guy outside making tacos; I also noticed a brand new 55" LCD in the adjacent dining area. According to a recent e-mail, they have the NFL package and will be showing plenty of games this season. Using one of their online specials, this course is an excellent value. I love the fact that Sam Snead used to play here. I tell all of my golf buddies that I work on my short game where a legend used to do the same. read more

Absolutely amazing what the management has been able to do for this course! I wouldn't consider myself a golf snob, but there are certain local courses I just will not go back to. Cough cough San Bernardino... Brand spanking new Yamaha golf carts, I guarantee they are faster than you are used to... The greens continue to get better and better! Local golfers are keeping this golf course a secret, and rightfully so Colton is slowly a hidden gem. Some par three courses don't offer much technical challenge, but out of the 15 par 3's on the course only a few are under 150 yds. When they have certain tees pushed back there are a few 190+ yarders. And if all that wasn't enough to make you want to play CGC it smells like blueberry muffins, or cinnamon rolls depending on what day you play... A big improvement over the usual recycled stagnant water present on most IE courses. Hope this review was enough to persuade you to pay here, see you on the course. read more

This a working man's golf course as mentioned in another review. It's well kept and is reasonably priced. It's a nice course to play after work and work on your game. I personally feel this is a great place to work on your swing and practice your short game. Aside from the range, there's several practice greens, a chipping area and a few practice bunkers. Go buy a bucket, save a few balls for the practice areas and hit the rest after! Bring a ball shag too so you can spend less time picking up balls and more time practicing. read more
