Great course and cool place to just come and chill bars close enough to the driving range short walk!

I'm new to golf, I don't even own my own golf set. But it was a boys day out and we decided to spend the afternoon here. Mike was at the register he said he played golf for 50 years really nice guy and very honest. He helped us get set up and recommended we didn't waste our money on expensive equipment. The course was 9 holes majority of them being par 3 (meaning the goal is to get the ball in the hole in 3 hits) there was maybe 2 par 4s. This is a great course if you're new. They also have an excellent driving range for $14 a bucket. The best part is there is a nice bar right behind the driving range with a pool table. I'm definitely coming back and hopefully get good at golf! read more

Great little Executive course for a quick get away for 9 holes. They take reservations but I always walk on with no problems. Less than 20 bucks with a cart. All the greens are in good condition and pretty flat. Staff very friendly. 2 driving ranges and a bar to have a cold one after. Finished in about an hour. read more

Came here to hit some balls at the driving range. There are a few left handed only stalls. 100 balls for $15. There was not a lot of people around 6pm but starts to pick up when it cools down. Some of the balls that were dispensed were really dirty. read more

Great place to work on your iron game or to hit a bucket of balls. Avoid going after 5 PM as it gets really busy. And Saturday morning Golf it gets quite busy. Other than that good times at a decent price. read more

I really like that I can go to the Van Buren Golf Center at night. It's the only range in this area that has lights. It makes up for having to hit off mats (almost). The staff is friendly and the balls are decent. The bar could use some more top shelf selection, but the beer is cold and like I said the staff is friendly and the service is good. This place is totally worth a visit. read more

I'd like to hope it was once more affordable for what it is, but for the quality of golf, food, and drinks... I'm shocked this place calls itself an executive club and tries to charge what it does! Normally you hit some snags at a public course as busy as this one, and people are rude, but Elizabeth was helpful and kind. Will definitely be coming back just because of the experience. There is a lot to improve on. I can understand the price to quality, but this is terrible. The greens look like the fairway, they have drainage issues, and the lake is a breeding ground for anything nasty. If you want to play a 9, there are other options like general old, jurupa hills, or Indian hills. They also closed the area for the 7th and 8th holes and don't allow to play extra holes. It's unfortunate that the management is running this gem into the ground. It would've been more acceptable if they just apologized for the inconvenience and allowed everyone to get in a few more holes or discount the rate. read more

Owner needs to update hours. Says the driving range is open until 10pm, yet showed up for some night time golf, and witnessed a slew of others about 12 other individuals wanting to golf on a Tuesday night and we were told they closed at 5pm. Too bad... imagine the sales lost. read more

I used to go to the range here, but I stopped too many kids running around. Not sure why this is the only place have designated mats for lefties. I believe if you're a lefty you should be able hit off at any mat. Oh well. read more

This place used to be my favorite golf spot. Golf balls here are beat up! Avoid at all cost if you are an avid golfer.

I definitely will not be coming back to play here. Golf etiquette is out the window here. The surprising thing is that the employees that work here play the course and do what ever they want. Won't shut the fuk up while your swinging. And start suggesting crazy approach shots that can put others in danger. Insult other players and get physical with other groups. It's not something nobody should ever whiteness or experience on a golf course. It is very disturbing that style of golf that is played here. The course is and facility is sub par and un welcoming. I can trash this place more but I'll let you judge it for your self. GO somewhere else!! Trust me this place is a not worth your money. read more

Played this course last Sunday. Absolutely Terrible conditions. I get it green fee is $20 but there was hardly any greens on the course. 2 greens were fully dirt and roots. The other greens were so dimpled you couldn't roll a ball remotely straight. Course has always been on the rough side but this last time will be my last playing until something changes. This was my first time playing at a golfing range , and it was a nice change from Top Golf. I loved how spacious the driving range was, which is perfect for practicing my swing. The little restaurant and bar at the front were a great bonus; a good spot to grab a drink or a bite before, after or while hitting some balls. And it didn't break the bank! Win-win for me. I was at the golfing range with one other person and we got there early to get 2 spots next to each other and I felt very disrespected when a worker told me that I needed to pick up my stuff and move to the end because I was "left handed" and he gave my spot to someone else. When I got to the end I was disappointed to see a beat up mat with no tee or ball holder. Very rude to move me to the end when there was nothing special for left handies at the end. read more

I usually don't review non-food places, but I'm starting to, and this one deserves a solid 5/5. Although I didn't play golf that day, hanging out with friends and my husband was incredibly enjoyable. Everyone seemed to have a great time, with drinks available. While you can't bring your own drinks, it's understandable. The staff keeping the course clean were efficient and friendly, patiently waiting as I took pictures and filmed. The only improvement I'd suggest is a better bathroom, but that doesn't affect my rating. Go, hang out, and have fun! read more

I played my very first game of golf here today. As a beginner the idea of playing a new sport was a little scary. I pulled up to the course and found a good amount of parking on a Sunday morning. I proceeded to walk in and I found the check in office pretty quick it was across from the bar to your left hand side. I walked in and checked in for my tee time. The woman behind the desk was very kind and she told me everything I needed to know about where to go and how to start. She also gave me a little map of the course. (As this was my first game this helped a ton.) I walked out and toward the first tee. I proceeded to play a full game and it was great! Yes there are a few rough patches and yes some off the tee off spots are a little beat up but I think it's fantastic. I will say the have some gopher holes around that should be addressed but other then that it's good. I had a 10/10 experiences first time and look forward to coming back read more

Look this isn't a high end golf course but that's exactly why I come here. I play a round of golf for $13 bucks and I don't have to schedule a tee time, clip a coupon, rent a cart ( I walk the coarse with my personal bag cart), or deal with crowds. I can practice my game on the coarse or on the range ( highly recommend you get a prepaid punch card). Everyone here is friendly including the customers, they have two different putting greens to practice your short game . Honestly this is an everyday golf course/ range. read more

The red headed woman working the counter was rude to me the moment I walked through the door. I kindly asked for a bucket from my range card and wasn't even able to finish my sentence before she told me, "We are not open yet, you need to wear a polo shirt, you need to wear closed toed shoes! We have had this new policy since...." I immediately turned around and left. Does Van Buren Golf Center realize that they are not Oak Quarry or Goose Creek? Where does this place get off speaking to their guests this way? I wear polo shirts at real golf courses when I go to play 18 holes. The fact that this lady had the audacity to say this to me when I was nothing but polite is baffling. Especially when many of the people wear tank tops and blast music...smh Prior to this, I had nothing but great experiences. The rest of the staff are friendly and helpful. I would honestly give this place another chance if they speak to this red headed woman about treating guests with more respect. read more

Come here to golf with my husband often due to great prices. This afternoon, I took my children with me to golf and called ahead to schedule a tee time. Upon arrival, I walked into the office with ALL 3 of my kids (10yo, 6yo, and 9 months) the staff didn't mention we couldn't do cart rental with a baby. They gave us our keys and we went on the course. When coming back to return carts Jennifer (lady with red hair) came out and was so unprofessional yelling at us telling us in front of MANY people how we can't have a baby on the course and how she is suspending and writing up the person who gave us the keys/permission to go on course. Mind you, she was there and saw us before we got into carts. So she new... Maybe she had alcohol in her system from being at the bar when we got to the golf center. Yes, Jennifer, we saw you. First off, don't yell at the person if it's not their fault. As a manager, YOU need to be suspended and written up. You are VERY unprofessional and need further training yourself on how to handle these situations. I'm VERY disappointed. read more

Really had a lot of fun at Van Buren Golf Center. Is it the nicest course in the area? No, but still fun to play on. For $15/person for 9 holes, you can't beat the price. Plus, the staff is really friendly and nice. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is the golf carts are oldish and dirty, and the grounds could use a little more upkeep. There are gopher, squirrel, and bunny holes everywhere. Also, in some areas, the grounds are swampish from being over watered. If you're a pro and can hit the ball away from the mushy areas, you're good. Sadly for me though, I trampled through the mush more than a few times...lol! Also to be noted, there is a pretty decent size driving range, and a restaurant and bar on the property. read more

There is no way this place should be getting more than 2 stars on anyone's review. Those seem fake to me. The grass isn't mowed the greens are running at like a 4. The course is horrible and you get what you pay for. It's cheaper to play than to get range balls, which is getting ridiculous everywhere you go now. read more

We've been coming to the Driving Range for years and don't have any complaints. It's perfect for is, we live a few miles away and if we call in advance, they'll let us know if its packed or not very busy so we know if it's a good time to come. Wow. I see that the course is getter better conditions but after playing behind a group of six golfer and taking 3 1/2 hours to play nine holes I'm disappointed. They destroyed tee boxes and greens hitting with wedges on the greens. Six golfers with only two golf bags that were drunk even before the 3rd tee box. They brought in three ice chests and we as a twosome couldn't stand their stupidity and lack of respect for the game and course. After we finished we went to the bar to hand out. They came back in about an hour after us and started using the putting green using wedges and a driver and were chipping onto the putting green. I truly like the course but they overbook tee times on weekends and there isn't a marshal on the course. The pace of play is miserable and when you book a tee time and have to wait for 45 mins for a cart to come back in that dies on you on the course and no one watches the range anymore it's just a dangerous situation. Someone will eventually get hurt by ball bouncing back off the driving range into the bar, the putting green or the pro shop. I saw the broken window in the pro shop today and was told that someone hit a ball and broke it read more

UPDATE: It's been 5 months since our incident here. My grandpa could only play 9 holes so we figured we would go back for him and give this place another shot...come to find out WE ARE NOW BANNED FROM PLAYING HERE. Of course THEY aka the manager gave a bs excuse and said we refused to follow their rules and were given multiple chances which was a LIE. Have a feeling it had a lot to do with this review. My husband David loves golfing so I go just to hang out. Everyone is so nice especially Sherree, she is a bartender there. She is so friendly and kind. Definitely made the experience a lot nicer since I wasn't golfing and was the only female. I highly recommend this place especially because of Sherree. I came here to hit a bucket and the lady at the door told me I get a warning but they require you to wear a polo to hit range balls?! First off, it's $17 for a large bucket that's outrageous considering the balls look old and beat to death. Secondly the bays and matts you hit off of look deteriorated. I wouldn't ever waste my time actually golfing here considering the course looks like someone's unkept backyard. But y'all have the audacity to tell me I can't come to practice unless I'm dressed like I'm at a real golf course? Not worth coming here. For affordability this place is that but for value in regards to the course it's like playing an abandoned lot. This place is in need of a lot of maintenance, and clean up just to get back to being a poor course. First time and last time here. There are other courses to go to in Riverside or nearby. Range and putting green are in decent shape. On the plus side I did have a hole in one (my drive landed in a gopher hole). Golf carts are put together from their on site cart cemetery. To sum it up, it's a bar where you can hit old golf balls or play a terrible golf course. Bring your own beer as a BudLight runs you $7. Minus 5 's. read more
