The rooms are clean, well lit, and situated with modern equipment. They let you choose what Netflix movie to watch (careful to choose a laughter filled comedy with your mouthful). It was first appointment with this office, so it was extended, but the digital, full mouth scan was useful for ordering a night guard. No gooey mouth-mold for me! I asked Main Street Dental to please check to see whether MY health insurance (a different provider) was in network and whether everything would be covered for MY appointment for later that month. They stated that they normally only call right before the appointment. I explained that we didn't want to wait until right before the appointment to find out whether there were hidden fees/out of network issues/etc. They stated they would call and check, and then they actually DID call me back to say yes, my insurance was in network, and everything should be covered. Fast-forward to my appointment! UH-OH! Turns out this place requires panoramic X-rays, which my insurance doesn't cover, so they're just calling right before my appointment to let me know that will be an extra surprise fee! Why couldn't they have checked that when they called about my insurance the first time? HMMM.... Even MORE incredibly, the receptionist stated that they were required BY LAW to take panoramic X-rays. I actually am a lawyer, but I don't think you need to have gone to law school to know that there's NO law requiring people to take panoramic X-rays before receiving dental treatment. Call almost any other dental office in the area and ask. Steer clear of Main Street Dental. There are other new dental offices in the area who would love your business and won't hit you with surprises 24-48 hours before your appointment, after you've already waited 4 months to see a dentist. They also probably won't lie and tell you a medical procedure is required "by law" when it is not.

Appointments are really easy to get and they're flexible if you need to cancel. I like that they put Netflix on for you while you wait or are being worked on. It eases some anxiety over someone working in your mouth. I think they work with relatively new hygienists and assistants and I enjoyed the pleasant conversation between my assistant and the doctor yesterday while my teeth were being cleaned. It showed a real camaraderie between them and the excitement of the assistant with all she's learning. The doctor was a little behind but again, having something to watch kept me entertained. They're a great service and I'm glad it's not too far from home.

Do we not realize, these people are key to making kissing our lovers more palatable (bonus if you caught the play on words)? Considering I what I just wrote, I've pondered this dilemma many times. So in essence I'm more apt to cut some slack in these regards. Naturally I had an issue where my crown that I just got a year ago popped off. I called Ideal Dental as they're in network for me and they scheduled me within two days, which made me happy. Next all paperwork was done from my house which made the visit even quicker. Walking in the facility is clean and as welcoming as a dentist office can be. The staff is nice and everyone seems knowledgeable of their jobs. I was naive enough to believe they could just pop my crown back on however Ideal was very diplomatic and caring in letting me know the issues that they found with my tooth. The only qualms I had is I had to watch Golden Girls while they played in my mouth. Luckily they let me change the channel so I asked if they had the playboy channel, joking of course. They were extremely thorough with saving my tooth however the whole ordeal took 3 hours. While I'm not an expert in teeth I thought the appointment ran long and I left feeling like I got punched in the face by a midget in a "tapout" shirt. Overall, the process was detailed and their work which included numerous xrays remedied my situation. The price was disappointing however that was more due to my crown coming off and having to get another one as I was in Kansas City when I got the last one so the warranty didn't roll over. I believe you can have faith in this practice that they have your health in mind when taking care of you. While I hate going back, I trust them.

From the get go, Dr. Kimmel carefully reviewed my husband's dental issues and concerns, also taking into consideration other existing medical conditions. He carefully explained what needed to be done as he prepped him for his first implant. From the best sedation procedure to ensuring that his implant was a perfect fit. Dr. Kimmel has since completed another implant for him and ensured that there would be no future issues or concerns once the implant was placed. I highly recommend Dr. Kimmel. His demeanor and compassion for his patients is hard to come by these days. The follow up care from his staff and the front office is also to be noted and recognized. They are one of the very few, if not the only, providers in the area who coordinate with the VA, allowing veterans to receive care without having to drive to Austin. After his positive experience, I decided to schedule an appointment as well. We both saw Dr. Matthew O'Neil, and I almost hesitate to mention his name only because he was so phenomenal and don't want to share. He was kind, professional, and had an excellent bedside manner. He asked thoughtful questions and provided clear, thorough answers to everything I asked. A staff member, either the office manager or benefits coordinator, also met with me and walked me through a detailed cost breakdown on an iPad. She explained what my insurance would cover, what my out-of-pocket costs would be, and gave me the flexibility to prioritize or decline any services. She was incredibly kind and made the entire process feel comfortable and pressure-free. In the end, I chose to move forward with all recommended treatments because the pricing was comparable to other providers in the area, and I felt very confident in Dr. O'Neil's expertise. Today, I had two fillings, three crowns, and a deep cleaning completed under IV sedation, as I have a serious fear of dental procedures a local anesthetic is hit or miss for me. My appointment began within 5-10 minutes of arrival, and so far I've experienced little to no pain. The customer service has been outstanding. I'll be returning in two weeks to have my crowns placed, and based on my experience so far, I feel very reassured about my decision. Highly recommend!
