I've been coming to this salon for years when I visit my parents, and unfortunately my most recent visit was a huge disappointment. I went in on New Year's Eve with my mom, and we spent around $240 total for both of our services. I personally got gel extensions, and within one day, my nail started lifting and came off. Over the next few days, multiple nails completely popped off, including my thumb -- while I was on vacation and not doing anything rough on my hands. I don't pick at my nails, I wasn't cleaning, and I normally get gel extensions that last 3+ weeks, so this was very unusual. I reached out immediately and sent photos. Customer service offered 50% off my next visit, even though I clearly explained that I live out of state and only come back about once a year. I asked if a partial refund was possible given the situation and the cost, and after that, they stopped responding entirely. What's most frustrating is that after looking at Yelp, I see many recent reviews describing the exact same issue -- gel nails lifting or falling off the next day, paired with very high prices. I'm disappointed because I used to trust this place, but between the quality issues, pricing, and lack of follow-through, I won't be returning. read more

i got my nails done a few days monday and it's thursday and i got dip as i normally do, i have gone there before but i went with my friend and i got a french tip dip. Let me just say that i want my money back. my nail beds are bleeding, two of my nails chipped, and these are my natural nails but last night i was grabbing something and it broke my whole nails off to where it was bleeding. i'm very disappointed. also my friends nails fell off as well. for the price i paid this was a scam read more

This place is very bad. The lady that painted my nails had an airpod in the whole time and everytime I asked if she could shape my nail differently she ignored me. It has been 3 days and a nail has already popped off and this is absolutely outrageous because I paid $95 for these and they didn't last. read more

I have plenty of nail salons in my hood that I like, but have yet to find one that I feel the need to be loyal to. However, after 2 visits to Oak Spa Nails I think I may have found it. I've been shouting them praises the past few weeks to anyone who will listen and figured now it's time to share w/ the rest of the world...via Yelp (& hope I can still get an appointment whenever I want). The nail salon itself is beautiful, super clean & the women who work here are so sweet. They take their time giving treatments and go the extra mile when it comes to little things like cleaning your ring while you get your nails polished. However, the real differentiator between Oak Spa Nails & the other salons in the area is the dazzle dry polish they carry. It's an extra $5, but lasts a week longer than my typical manicures...and is just pure magic! It also dries super fast so I was able to put my shoes on just minutes after getting a pedicure, which is appreciated during cold Chicago winter days. I asked them why I haven't seen dazzle dry in other nail salons and they mentioned it's way more expensive than other polish, but well worth it. IMO the last thing Winnetka needed was another nail salon, but thing the others are going to have a tough time now that Oak Spa Nails is here. read more

I gave this place a few chances hoping things would improve but sadly they never did. My first appt. I did gel nail extensions, no chip mani, and pedi. Total cost was a few hundred dollars plus tip so I was expecting a decent job. They also claimed they would last a few weeks. So, first receptionist was SO unpleasant (this was a theme every time I came.) girl who did the nails was sweet but had trouble applying them despite saying she was very experienced at doing them. They looked ok. Pedi was also just ok. No one really seemed like they wanted to be at work. I came back a few days later because the nails were shifting and coming loose. Receptionist was annoyed per usual and they attempted to fix but they just couldn't get them straight for some reason. And I wasn't leaving with crooked nails. So, they removed them and just did a no chip on my natural nails. At no time did they offer to reimburse anything for the several hundred dollar nails I had literally just had put on that fell off incredibly fast. But ok fine... I would have appreciated an "I'm sorry" but no one cared lol. I gave this place a 3rd and final try. Receptionist, right on cue, miserable and hates everyone in the place. It's packed so running behind and I get taken 15/20 min after my appt time. Woman rushes through the mani. Cuts several of my cuticles causing them to bleed. On top of this more than one employee appears sick and coughing everywhere. They get told to go in the back to continue coughing and then come back on the floor. In the midst of all of this chaos, one of the employees goes to the back to I guess heat up their lunch and the whole place is filled with an awful smell. Then the icing on this crazy cake, was when 2 customers come in with large dogs lol. I love dogs but I've never seen them allowed in a salon before. Wow I was in town for my husbands appointment and I walked in looking for a no chip after being Turned away down the street. I was welcomed in told they'd squeeze me in if I waited a few minutes! What I received was a wonderful service which was quick and fabulous. Susan took care of me and was only one of the wonderful workers here. Easily one of the nicest nail spas I've been to and customer service and quality of work was excellent! The only thing I'm sorry about is that I'm not local so I can come back regularly! Make an appointment yesterday for this morning. Showed up, on time, and after a few minutes was seated in the back. The place was quite busy, with at least 7-8 people getting serviced. The nail tech (a man) proceeded to remove polish from 3 of my nails (regular polish, not no chip); he looked around, got up without a word to me. I thought he was checking someone in, but after about 10 minutes of me sitting there, alone, with no word to me from anyone working there, I realized he had started a mani/pedi for another person (big diamond ring, all dressed up)! I sat there, confused, for about 5 minutes, and neither he nor any of the other 6-7 techs said anything to me, so I got up and left. Really? Don't bother going, as they definitely show how they value customers (I am pretty much of a regular, too). Lots of other choices for nails in Winnetka, Glencoe and Highland Park. read more

Good luck with Oak Spa's follow through on appointments that are made. 2 times now I have made an appointment in advance and upon arrival they have had no record of it. The first time, they were able to take me regardless but the second, asked me to come the next day. Also, Oak Spa insta posts have amazing nail designs. A bit of false advertisement as there is only 1 technician who can paint the designs; if she isn't available it's a no go. The nail designs are very $$$$; not worth it. Too bad because it is a lovely nail salon with decor and colors in a great location. Spare yourself and give another nail salon your business. read more

I have been there a few times and the first time was great about two years ago. Thereafter the service was mediocre. I have called to make appts. since then but they never have openings and honestly are not very nice when speaking to me on the phone. This place was great when it first opened but I've noticed things not being done as well now after a couple of years. For instance I get Dazzle Dry because it lasts longest on my nails, which are admittedly in bad shape. There are specific instructions from the manufacturer that have to be followed to get the polish to last. But the techs at Oak Spa don't follow them anymore and I can see a difference in how long my mani or pedi lasts. There's an up charge for Dazzle Dry, which is fine, but they need to follow the instructions to make it worth the price. So disappointed. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would 100%. My two daughters and I had made an appointment for 3 mani pedis three weeks in advance and had called a week later just to confirm our appointment. We ask the employee at the front desk and she said our name has never been written down, she doesn't have our phone number, and has no history of us scheduling an appointment. She had a bad attitude as wasn't nice at all. Bad enough, she started yelling when I asked if I could speak to a different associate about our appointment. Super friendly nail techs who know what they're doing. I showed them a picture and they were able to replicate it perfectly. I could tell that the girl doing my nails was very excited and passionate about nail art and trying new things. I got gelx with designs on all my nails as well as a pedicure and it was around $90 in comparison to the salon I went to downtown which did designs of similar complexity and charged me $140. I came here based on rave reviews. I called and made an appointment. The technician was not at all interested in working with my dry feet. I looked at their menu and asked about special services to help moisturize dry feet. I had explained when making my appointment that my feet were very dry. The technician refused to do the special services saying they would take "too long". The water for the pedi was cool and I was not given time to soak my feet. I basically sat down and she started right away. She was done with my pedicure in 20 minutes! I should have saved my money and just bought a pumice stone. read more

This salon opened up on the same block where I work. I tried them out and was and is so satisfied. The salon inside is so beautiful and they offer such a relaxing atmosphere.
