I gave up on Glencoe nail salons a few years ago because I found some better options in Winnetka. I typically go to Oak Spa (right down the street from here) and have been loving their dazzle dry manicures for the few years. I've found that they have been drying out my nails lately so when a friend mentioned the russian manicure with Nadia at Allure was "life changing" I decided to check it out. I've been to Allure a few times for both manis and pedis and have always had a good experience. They get busy, but I'm usually able to get in for a last minute appointment as well. I tried this "life changing manicure" with Nadia and do feel like my nails look really great...and much healthier than they do with the dazzle dry. For those wanting to stick with dazzle dry Allure also offers those. Nadia spent about an hour on my nails and I was told they'll last 3-4 weeks. It cost $70 for the first time, but $80 next time (I believe because I have to soak the nails off). They also offer tanning. While I haven't personally tried their tanning services a friend stepped out of their tanning room looking like she had spent a week at the beach (in October). I love the way a spray tan looks, but avoid because I had the way it feels after. However, she said you can shower hours later with their spray tan so I may have to check that out in the future too! read more

I've had mostly good experiences here until I developed onychomycosis (toenail fungus) following a pedicure with something they called "quick dry." They tried to file it off, which totally messed up the nail and led it to become a nidus for mold growth. I've never had any nail problems in my life. Nail fungus is hard to treat and is expensive; I'll never get a pedicure again, anywhere. read more

I also hosted an event (Mom's Night Out) at the salon from 7-9pm and they were fantastic with everything. I am blow away by the quality of no chip mani here. Staff are very detailed and really take their time making your nails look and feel their best. This no chip mani lasted 3 1/2 weeks! Plus a second staff member (I forgot her name) offered to do a holiday design by hand for my accent nails and it was perfect for the holidays. I went in for a second no chip yesterday and Angie was fantastic! Very gentle, took her time and overall a great experience! Super clean and well designed. I also got a spray tan from them in December for an upcoming photoshoot. Below is a before + after plus a close up. I'm very fair and the spray tan came out looking so natural and even. All I can say is it was the BEST spray tan I've ever had! i am a teenager who politely walked into there "establishment" explaining how i had made an appointment to the wrong location of this nail salon but was wondering if they could still take me. they rudely declined but i still was understanding and left. i told my mom about what happened and she called them asking to make an appointment for the same services and they gladly accepted. which was very contradictory to what i was just told. when me and my mom came in to talk to them the women was stand offish and pretended to not know sbout the appointment that clearly made. a women in the store even jumped in talking about how she also heard her discussing the appointment on the phone with me mom minutes prior. disappointed with this nail salon and will not be coming back! read more

Staff is very pleasant! Owner greets you upon arrival and thanks you for coming. Dora did my nails and she was kind and did a good job! Shoulder massage and arm massage. Good service and place is very pretty and clean. Also, they have drinks and a timer for drying your nails so you don't have to check your phone. I hope they keep up this level of professionalism and continue giving great manicures. These are my acrylics less than a week after getting them on! I got them done on Friday 2/25, lost both thumbs by 3/2, and all fingers came off by 3/3. I have not been doing any sort of strenuous activities with my hands, just living life normally. I am extremely disappointed in the quality of these nails particularly given the $130 I paid (including a pedi). I have never had acrylics fall off within a month let alone less than a week. The in salon experience was lovely but I will not be coming back after this result. Would not recommend. read more

I made an appointment for 3 girls for their first dance. Called and confirmed 3 days later. The girls showed up and they said they didn't have an appointment and they must have called the wrong number, even though my daughter was showing screen shots of the call log. They told me they would try and take them and they told the girls they didn't have time. I have never had to call 3 times to confirm a nail appointment. read more

Best spray tanning experience ever! Majority of the time I'm spray tanning during the winter, and have always hated how cold it is- but their machine is HEATED! I went on the coldest day of November (17 degrees outside) and was perfectly warm and comfortable the whole time! They use an organic, FRAGRANCE FREE solution!! Very bright and clean nail salon. Jazz fusion was on the sound system; they have a large TV screen as well, which was off. Had a manicure and pedicure and both were perfect. All the women that work there were friendly but didn't push chatter. I was there a little more than 90 minutes that included time under the dryers. The neck massage included a hot towel around my shoulders and they put a "mask" on my legs during the pedicure. As they just opened, I took advantage of the $35 mani/pedi (usually $45). I was a bit surprised that my choice of Zoya polish for the manicure was an additional $4. They also offer the standard OPI and Essie, along with gel polishes. There is a certificate on the wall proclaiming that they use "organic," products but that can't include the polishes, removers, etc. Perhaps out refers to the scrubs, lotions and spray tanning. Wow! I just got a spray tan with Tina and it's the most natural spray tan I've ever had! She did a fantastic job and it is organic (no breathing in harsh chemicals). Tina could not have been kinder and made me feel very comfortable. I also get my nails done there and they do a great job. They have helped my thinned out nails (from dip) regain their strength.
