I do not know how this place has good reviews in Google. This has got to be one of the worse…read morefacilities. Notice how there are no pictures of the upstairs? They take residents stuff and lie to their family members. I had to change my moms bandages and made sure to mark them so I was able know if they were or were not changing them. This is not a place to take someone when they have to rely on others

I find this place comical…read more The so-called paid professionals allow residents to scream for dear life and they "laugh". Someone from the facility threatened me, when I said I "should've taken pictures and videos". As a human, you get tired of the same routine, I get that. If someone is "not cut out to be part of the solution, to someone's life.......then don't become a burden upon them and make their problems larger". Yes the nurses are rude. The reviews before me, are factual. Sad part is, MOST nursing facilities are doing "cut-backs". They are cutting back on man-power and supplies. Yet they want the residents to tolerate the torture. Also, I've been told that 1-2 people "OWN MORE THAN 1 FACILITY". The name changes within facilities, the cut-backs, layoffs, extra upset employees and residents are due to "New Ownership". Now I sleep with a clean conscience. I empathize with the residents - unfortunately the Staff does not and they mock the residents, in their face. They don't hide their feelings about residents. I don't understand HOW you expect to take from someone's social security/medicare/medicaid/retirement fund to treat them horribly. Physical therapy and Nurses are JOKES !!

Writing this review as an employee under a different name for my privacy…read more I am absolutely DISGUSTED by this place. I have worked in healthcare for quite some time and NEVER had an experience like I did here. Staff is INSANELY abusive both verbally and physically. During my training, one of the workers smacked a patient. I couldn't believe my eyes. There was another staff member telling dementia patients on the 2 nd floor "shut up" or "shut the f&$k up" because they were screaming at him to get out of their room.. i wonder why!? I also witnessed a nurse get into a residents face and threaten to cut his private off. Telling him she was going to bite his finger off too and cursing at him just because he was confused and wanted to take a shower. Another cna was working with a combative patient and said "go ahead b$)ch hit me, I hit back" Another patient on hospice covered in bruises and the girl told me they have no idea what happened!! WHAT?! I didnt even finish my training I could not get out of there fast enough. I wanted to stay and be a gentle hand in a not so gentle place but I want no part of it. The management HAS to know the patients are being treated so poorly. My heart absolutely BREAKS for these people. I feel physically sick thinking about it. The place is also FILTHY. Ask for a full tour. Bathrooms in the rooms are moldy, toilets are never flushed or cleaned, feces everywhere. Trash everywhere. The rooms are all a mess. So dirty id be shocked if they dont have bugs and mice. your loved ones will get diaper changes once a shift, if that. There was a man wearing the same clothes for 5 days!!! So that means no shower? Just awful. Please dont send your loved ones here. The strive unit and downstairs might look halfway decent but im telling you, its not. And to the managers and staff that might read this, DO BETTER. If you dont have compassion and patience you are in the WRONG career field. It is SO easy to be loving and kind to these sweet people. I look at them like family. I get emotionally attached to my patients. The patients have liquor in their rooms and go outside at all hours of the night smoking. Its a complete free for all. Physical fights happen, police get called ect. A nursing home is a home, it should be a safe place for our elderly to spend the little time they have left to be NURSED and NURTURED. Not abused and neglected and have to see and hear complete chaos. This place absolutely needs to be shut down. The turnover rate is insane. They said the place is better than it used to be and they made a lot of changes. I cant imagine how much worse it could be. The management also lied during orientation saying they dont have psych patients and if people are combative they send them out? Dont let them fool you. They also said if you quit within 90 days they will charge you for your uniform. Oh well.

No clue where all these great reviews are coming from. However, I will say that it was not that bad…read moreseveral months ago, and the short term rehab (downstairs) isn't bad. I am not sure what changed, except for the social worker for one, and I believe the "PT Director ". If you are planning on thinking about this place for long term, here are my suggestions...#1 ask them to tour the 2nd floor. If you can get beyond the strong smell of fecal matter you're halfway there, and if you can get by the line of residents blocking hallways waiting for their medication then great ( oh but don't forget to ask for the elevator code as these people are locked up there) #2 if your loved one must leave the facility for any length of time TAKE ALL OF THIER BELONGINGS because I speak from experience you will NOT get them back. #3 Plan on checking on your loved one daily to see if they have been changed (waited 2 hours for my mom to get cleaned up after sitting in a bowel movment ) and had to start marking bandages to see if they were changed every day. #3 Document EVERYTHING because the "administration staff" cannot keep their stories straight, and take pictures. #4 You need to call and nag constantly to get them to take your loved one back to the hospital because clearly they are not well, and do not let the "medical staff" tell you THEY don't see a medical reason (agaim speaking from experience, my mom had a UTI that I was told was too much for a nursing facility to handle. You can never get a hold of a nurse as they never pick up. I get that there are staffing shortages but we could not get a hold of my mom for quite some time. I called the front desk and the super sweet receptionist was going to go up and check herself if nobody picked up. The poor front desk ladies must take a lot of beatings but there are 3 of them that are so nice and so helpful. I may seem like a "Karen" and honestly I don't care, I want people to know before sending their loved ones there all of the issues and to save people the heartache

During my time there I was in need of physical therapy, dialysis and skilled nursing care. They responded quickly to personal and medical needs as they arrose. There are some staff members I would like to thank. First is Antntoinette she is the most caring, dedicated person I've met and I was so grateful to herald I will never be able to thank her enough. then there was Abbey,Ramos and aiden a great group of CNA's. Who also provided great care. Then there was my nurse practioner Lindsay. Besides being very knowledgeable in her job she was always in a great mood and willing to help anyone who needed her help. Then there was jayme. Mike, nina, Marisol and Diana. These amazing physical therapists helped me get strong enough to allow me to go home. I will always be endebted to them. Then to Anita, Tammy, Deanna and Pablo you guys are truly wonderful nurses and I thank you. Karen and Joy are great wound care nurse who mastered a challenging dressing. To Valerie, Carla and Sean your facility is smazing and keep up the great work. All these people I mentioned got me thru the toughest period of Mt life and I recommend this place to anyone in need of care for themselves or a family member

The Pearl is absolutely not a good live in rehabilitation center. No care plan is ever provided. They are woefully understaffed. In my opinion they are more concerned about money than the patients. In my opinion, from what I saw, they take horrible care of patients! Non responsive nurses and staff; tried to give incorrect medication to my relative more than once!! STAY AWAY!!!

11/5/22 I was in ProMedica, 600 Ogden Ave., Hinsdale, Illinois from September 28th thru October…read more20th, 2022. I had fallen and broken both of my arms and was unable to do anything for myself. The nurses, especially Anita, Sara and Chris on the 1st floor were kind and friendly always concerned for their patient's needs. They made sure I had my medication for pain and my diabetes, high blood pressure and sleep medication at the appropriate time. The CNA's, especially Nikki, Jessica and Marjorie were always there when I rang for help to go to the bathroom, needed water, wanted to go to bed or needed help with one of the many things I could not do for myself. And my Occupational Therapist Flora and Physical Therapist Karen and all the other therapists keeping us moving and safe were outstanding! I am sorry for all the other wonderful, caring employees I haven't mentioned in this review but there was always a smile on some ones face and laughter in the hallways. I am so grateful that my husband Mike went out to 4 different rehabilitation centers to find the best one for me and that was ProMedica, Hinsdale, Illinois. A special thank you to my Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Shane Mehta, Duly Health and Care who did surgery on my left arm at LaGrange Hospital, LaGrange, Illinois. What an exceptional and gifted surgeon he is and I would highly recommend him to anyone needing surgery.

I'm writing to tell of a disturbing encounter concerning the ProMedica Hinsdale front desk…read more After three attempts to call over an hour period no one answers the phone and there is no voice mail. When I arrived there, I was left standing at the front desk while the concierge and 4 female employees were engaged in a nonsensical conversation. When they finally acknowledged my presence, the concierge was condescending and rude. It seemed as if he was inebriated. I called the Promedica facility in Hinsdale, IL, to check on a friend, a newly arrived patient. The first call I made was around 12:30 PM, I let it ring 20 times no one answered the phone, no voicemail. I waited ten minutes and called a second time with the same results, no one answered. I waited another twenty minutes and let the phone ring 20 times, no one answered. All I wanted to know was if the patient was allowed visitors and the room number, the usual questions a receptionist would field. I decided to go to the facilities at 600 W Ogden; it was between 1:45 and 2:00 PM when I arrived at ProMedica. As I walked in the receptionist was a male in his 30's talking to four female staff members. They kept me waiting for five minutes before they acknowledged my presence. Their conversation was not work related and seemed nonsensical. I asked the male reception person about the patient's details, room number etc. and learned it was on the second floor. I asked how do I get to the patient's room i.e. is there a stairwell or elevator? The reception person asked if I wanted him to carry me there. While the four female workers were giggling. I was shocked. I have never expected such disrespect from a healthcare facility. Why would you put an individual like this at the front desk? If visitors are verbally abused and disrespected, how do they treat the residents there?
