well, I don't know if it's still the same environment from when I attended. I was four years old when I attended the school . it was about 15 years ago and I remember that it was kind of a bad environment for me since I was the only kid that didn't know English that well , my parents had to take me out because they didn't like the way I was treated and lately I've been having flashbacks of of how I was treated , there was one time a teacher wouldn't let me sit down and left me standing for 30 minutes straight just because I couldn't tie my shoe and started to shame me about it in front of all my classmates and she will help the other kids tie their shoes, but she wouldn't help me because i couldn't do it on my own . Theres another time where a girl had pushed me in the playground and I scraped my whole knee and it was bloody and the teachers didn't send me to the nurse or anything when my dad picked me up. He was mad because they didn't even clean it at all. They just left me with a bloody knee , but this was 15 years ago. I don't know if they're still the same, but that's just my traumatic experience after school there's more to say, but I don't see more. read more

Kicked out my kids just for asking questions about the charges we was getting charge. Tried to put the money we paid for tution to some books for school which school didn't start to the next week. Which in they policy and procedures it says they will charge you at $6 a hour at overtime hours which they was charging us at $10. Hold against us to conversation of calling back in forward trying get the kids enrolled they was saying one child was missing shots and the doctors office said they wasn't. Tried to make it like I was intimidating them by being a man asking them questions which I never once curse no one out. Never made any threaten messages, kicked them out because they fell I was augmentive for asking questions. Director don't really care about what happens or the situation or what happened goes directly off what the staff says regardless if they right or wrong. Also tried emailing the owners which they never replied. So this was my experience I had with this daycare, I can see if it was me calling being disrespectful cursing at staff none of this never happened and my kids still got kicked out, so good luck read more

My experience with OAKDALE PRIVATE SCHOOL was horrible before my kids even had a chance to go there . I first called Oakdale to inquire about their prices . I have a 2 year old son and 3 year old daughter . I was told that I would have to pay 340 for both kids with the 10% discount because I have two kids that were going to be enrolling into the school . I got the packet filled it out took time off of work to get everything situated (going to the pediatrician to fill out there shots forms, getting uniforms because I as told that they will have to now wear uniforms at the school).Fast forward to me getting the facility to now enroll my kids . I sat down with a staff member for about 30 to 45 mins before anyone told me that the prices increase. She asked me if I'm using NCI I SAID NO . Then she tells me I have to pay $396 a week for both my kids .Ms. Ramos came out the office and said and did nothing about the situation . When I told her about the price I was given she said the owners changed the price yesterday . And i honestly feel that's poor business to tell someone one price and try to change it in the middle of the deal . You honor what you committed to ! I would have never went there hence the fact I knew all of this up front . That's poor business then to say it was changed yesterday is unacceptable ! I feel like like they did that because I wasn't using NCI and wanted to get more money . You can't change a price in the middle of a deal you honor what you what you said. It's the principal of the situation. . If I was walking in there for the first time to get the application then that's one thing but if we already negotiated something and you trying to change it after the fact is not cool ! Don't wait til I sit down and you start to process my kids to tell me something else ! Not cool ! To go from $1,360 a month to $1584 is a major difference ! And again I'm paying for this outright no help from NCI ! Not good business practice at all !!! read more

Unprofessional. The staff is unfriendly, not loving towards the children at all. The staff constantly are yelling at the children. They tell everyone's business always gossiping in front of parents and the kids. Very disturbing. They didn't notify me that I needed to register my child, she had been there for over a year. I'm writing an update to this review beacuse I was contacted by the owner to remove the pic I included. The owner should have noticed that I wrote the review in 2008. The pic was the old playground. I'm not sure I want to remove the pic nor the review. I pulled my daughter out in July 2010 because she screamed everyday. She didn't want to go anymore. I believe I know of the reasons so please message me if you have any questions or concerns about MY concerns about the school. I will say this... they relocated to a different location. Oakdale used to be in two seperate buildings. One for babies and one for older children. It also used to be located in the most UNSAFE area on FM 1960. Again, they relocated but not sure if they "relocated" any of the employees. I WANT to give 1 star for what i witnessed last summer but I don't believe in blasting businesses. So please message me. As far as the picture. I'm leaving it unless the Community Manager wishes to get rid of it. Again, my favorable review was written in 2008 and that was pic was taken in 2008. My son has been going to Oakdale for almost two years now. I see a few negative post and notice that most post are from when they had a different location and facility. The location and facility they are currently in is great! My son started at Oakdale at 9 months and is now 14months. He loves his teachers and everyone is very nice and attentive. He has been in two class rooms and they each have been very clean. I have also showed up at the daycare during the day for random check ins and every time all the children in my child's class have always been well taken care of and my child is smiling and playing. I have never witness any children in the facility been mistreated. The teachers I see at the school really love taking care of kids. If I ever had a problem ( one time my son was given the wrong formula, it was a honest mistake as my son and another baby had the same bottles and bottle bag ( what is the change of that :) ) and he had a very upset stomach. Oakdale was quick to take action and ensured that it would never happen again. It has never happened again and all his teachers apologized for the oversight. I ended up feeling bad for bring it up since everyone was so nice and sorry it happened. If a child does have a accident as all children will they give you a call as soon as it happens and provide you with a written accident report. The school provides breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, and dinner if needed!!!! They also provide milk and juice and formula (if you child is on the one they use). My son even though he is only 14 months loves to eat and the teachers ensure your children are well feed. My child has never had a diaper rash or any forms of neglect they ensure all babies are changed as soon as possible. If you have any special needs or request they also do everything to accommodate your request. I would suggest anyone that is looking for a professional daycare to visit the location and not just go off reviews from 2008-2010. It seems a lot has changed and this facility has been great for our family. Oakdale did not request I write nor have I been contacted by Oakdale. This is an honest review from a parent that feels safe in Oakdale's care of my child. I will say I am a very picky first time parent at the age of 36 and I shopped around for a daycare. read more

My kids have been attending this daycare for about 5 years now. The teachers are awesome, front desk ladies are sweet, helpful, and very welcoming. If I've ever had a problem with something, and it's never been anything major, I've addressed it, its been taken care of, and never happened again. This is a clean, well structured, and safe place to have your children....and im VERY picky on daycare facilities. Good work guys!!!! read more

I came in for some info and i love that they went straight to the point. Prices and options. I got a tour around the school/daycare and everything just seemed so organized and seeing happy kids as oppose to unhappy kids was def a good sign. I got good vibes from everyone there. The staff was friendly and informative. As a first timer when it comes to leaving my 3 kids at daycare and my oldest starting pre k, im usually weary and unsure but I'm honestly looking forward to starting my kids here. #firsttimer read more

I am not sure how to think of this daycare. It is very clean, the teachers are very good however when my boy went here his things would go missing many times, his elmo backpack broken and there was also a child who would hit him all the time and it seemed to go unchecked. I recieved a paper explaining each time but the hitting kept going. My other complaint would be the mystery fees! There is no consistency with payments and when questioned I would not get an explanation for the change of rate. Payment was demanded I felt taken advantage of because there is a language barrier. I POSTED THIS REVIEW IN 2011, AND JUST DISCOVERED IT WAS REMOVED, ALONG WITH OTHER NEGATIVE REVIEWS POSTED AFTER MINE, SO HERE IT IS AGAIN. My 6 month old son has special needs and was enrolled at Oakdale's daycare for just a "short period of time" because I observed my son being neglected when I would come to pick him up from the daycare. I withdrew my son from the daycare after I came to pick him up and observed him sleeping in a bouncer with his fleece blanket covering his forehead down to his feet. I reported the incident to child care licensing, and Oakdale was written up for the violation because the owner lied about not having video of the incident and refused to allow the state licensing investigator to view any video. Please refer to their March 2011 inspection report. Many of the administrative staff members were very unprofessional and ghetto with me when I brought violations, that I observed regarding my son, to their attention. The same teacher that left my 6 month old sleeping with the fleece blanket covering up his face also left him sleeping in the crib for more than 30 minutes,with a wet and dirty bib around his neck, and he was face down in the crib's mattress. Also, I sent my son to the daycare with10 jars of baby food, and when I left work and picked him up 9 hours later, the teachers had fed him just two jars of baby food during the entire day! I have his activity sheet to prove this. After I contacted child care licensing and the school was inspected, the administrative staff were even more unprofessional and rude to me. Toddler teachers and PreK teachers are great. Owners are great. I've had some serious issues with my bill in the past, accidental overcharging, which I had to chase down myself and prove with bank statements. Apparently you have to keep an eye on that yourself. My kids vote kept me here though, she really likes this place. Super super clean place. They give every room a total wipe down with the hardcore chemicals regularly. Security is TOP NOTCH. This was a big one for me. Security system is monitored by a professional company, with recorded playback for incident recall and best of all, onsite monitoring with over 25 cameras in the actual lobby. So you can drop your kid off, walk to the lobby and check up on everything. Multicultural school with mixed demographics. Mostly black middle class, Hispanic, and minority of white and Asian students. My little one has been here several years and has learned a huge chunk of Spanish in addition to being exposed to an awesome amount of multicultural holidays. 24 hour daycare is GREAT. Food is average and price cant be beat for the area. Full time private school students have a neat amount of community building holidays where they make projects and get to wear silly outfits. My kid especially LOVES the outdoor play areas. This year we start elementary school and I'm going to miss the dependability of this place. read more

Be Careful Parents-DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS TO THIS SCHOOL!!!! I know the hours are convenient for a parent who works long hours. 24 hours/7 days a week seems like a winner, but in the long run it will be harmful to your children. I heard the owner bluntly make racist comments in front of my son, the front office staff be unprofessional as they talk about the parents as they leave the location, teachers stating that they are over-worked and underpaid, heard about staff members having sexual relationships with other staff members, too many students with one teacher, had to search from classroom to classroom when picking up my son, because they don't know which class he was in, hitting, biting, scratching between students. you name it I've seen and heard it. The curriculum they use made be good, but the teachers trying to execute it have no control over their classes so in essence it's do absolutely no good. Kids enjoyed the school as far as students, but my problem is all the sick kids. It's a never ending cycle! Your out of school more then being their so really someone like me who pays out of pocket and doesn't get help from government it's no use! Teachers always on their phone..the food well I guess it's food. You got some nice teachers and then you got the ghetto ones who don't want to teach just tell the kids to take a nap or be quite. I am a single father and my two little girls have been attending Oakdale for over a year now. I work late some nights and it really helps having a school center i don't have to rush to get there by a certain time. I love the fact that they are 24 hours and provide such a quality environment for my kids. My youngest daughter is 2 and she loves coming here. She runs to her teachers every day which makes me feel very comfortable leaving her. She is always bringing home art work and tells me what they learned about that day. My other daughter is 4 and she is in the Pre K classroom. She also loves her teachers and is learning way more than i thought she would by this time. They are definitely not just baby siting at this school, they are teaching my kids a ton. The management staff has always been very helpful as well. I lost a jacket one time, and when i went to the front desk they re-winded the cameras and saw exactly where it was and walked straight to it. It was left in the classroom she was in before being transferred to the night time room where she was sleeping. I don't always use the center at night but when i do all the kids seem to be very well taken care of. My 2 year old daughter is always dry and asleep when i come in around 9:30p on my late nights. The teachers are very helpful and tell me how their days were whenever i pick them up. I can't say enough good things about this school. If you are in the market for a quality childcare program, i would definitely give them a look. The facility is top notch (brand new i think), and the people are great. read more
