We just had a quick nosh so can't comment expansively on the full menu but the joint seems to be a conjunction of nouveau-style cuisine on the diner theme with the classic ambiance. Guys...You have a great idea. People are lining up at the door. But if you don't start to execute on the idea I don't think the lines will be there much longer. The three of us had: a Pho soup; a Bahn Mi sandwich; and a pancake eggs and sausage. The soup lacked flavor, The Bahn Mi was three bites and the pancakes were just average. I've been here for two meals now. The food is, well, exceptionally disappointing. I can't find a single positive thing about it. If it was half the price I could be persuaded to give it 3 stars, but for the price there's just no excuse. Unless you like to be served frozen hamburger patties. And fries that come from a bag. Hands down one of the best diners I've been to, staff was incredibly friendly, food was amazingly good & served very quickly. Only downside was their beverage selection was a little lacking for kids, definitely catered to a more adult audience. The Bahn Mi Roast Pork sandwich was amazing, the pickled carrots really added the right touch, the Cobb Salad was perfection and the kids cheeseburger was done perfectly. Took the family to dinner here before a movie. Got there at 5:45 and right behind us came families and older folks in a big crowd. The staff was cheerful and on top of things...this is an improvement from past service. My husband had said on the way over that he felt that in the past the staff "didn't care"...but this staff clearly did. We placed our orders and food came in a reasonable amount of time. Burgers for the husband and children and shakes, which everyone enjoyed. I had the curried chicken, which I love. If I lived near this diner, I'd be a frequent diner. We stopped here, along the drive to NYC. Parking available to customers. The diner is small, but tables aren't squished together. There are tables, booths and seats at the counter. Diner features 1 women's restroom and 1 men's restroom. I ordered the Oakhurst Hamburger with French fries. I can see the coarse salt sprinkled on top of those fries. The right amount of saltiness, crunchy exterior & moist interior in each french fry. The hamburger features Oakhurst Dressing or did they call it 'sauce'. No matter cuz it was delicious. The meat is provided by a local purveyor. Now THAT'S what I call 'good beef'. Stopped in the other day for a bite. Ended up getting the "Kev's Meatloaf Sandwich". Normally, I don't eat meatloaf when dining out, but previous experiences here made me feel safe. That feeling was well justified. The sandwich was served on garlic bread, with melted cheese and horseradish mayo. It was fantastically seasoned. On the side, I got Kimchi. Again. I can't get away from it. It doesn't hurt that it is a lower calorie food and that eating it makes me feel less guilty regarding my other meal choices. It turns out that Kimchi goes well with everything. One unusual thing I noticed on this visit was the coffee. Normally, I drown myself in the plain iced tea, which is Harney and Sons, and delicious. No sugar needed. But this time, I smelled them making coffee, and it was irresistible. I ordered one, and it was absolutely rich and flavorful. I confess that I am not a fancy coffee drinker. For years, my thirst was well-sated with Maxwell House. This wasn't for lack of trying other coffees. This was an amazing cup of coffee, super fresh and delicious. I ordered another cup to go. I stopped by here on my way back to NYC from a camping trip, Millerton is a little cute town, w mixed hipsters, locals and bypassers like us! The diner is very clean, chic and sunny! I have to say everyone on our table love our food, my grilled chicken sandwich was superb, chicken was grilled to perfection, tender, juicy and delicious! I don't know what kind of dressing/sauce, but it makes it one of my fav chicken sandwich place! The sweet potato fries are crispy and yum! I definitely prefer it over reg fries my friends ordered. they're very satisfied w their oakhurst burger! I love the fact they're doing their best to use local produces and it's indicated on the menu, service was quick and friendly, kitchen moves pretty quickly so does tables! There was brunch special and good varieties food selection on the menu. It feels more like a small local restaurant than a diner to me! I have a certain soft spot for diners. American nouveau in a converted diner, and you've struck a path to my foodie heart. Oakhurst offers breakfast from Benedict to buckwheat pancake. Dinners range from roast pork bahn mi to steak frits. Really, this is a wonderful of new american dining and at reasonable prices. The house made sweet potato fries are outstanding. Try the edemame dumplings to start, fried and served with a classic but indispensable Chile sauce, its a great light starter. My bahn mi was exceptional, if unusual; house mayo, pickled veggies and cilantro, fiery fresh jalapeños, and sweet thin sliced pork between sourdough baguette halves. It wasn't the bahn mi of Vietnam but distinctly the new american fusion of flavors I crave. Service was good, quick and attentive but not obtrusive. 8 of us were on a motorcycle ride today and stopped here for a late breakfast. It was our first visit to Millerton and we'll definitely be back. Three of us had the Big Daddy breakfast and everyone else had an assortment of sandwiches and salads. The food was great and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. We found this diner on our way to a car show. The atmosphere is retro & their outside patio is quaint. The menu has an eclectic selection of items. I ordered the Little Buddy w/Kale: Kale mixed with bacon, sausage, bell peppers, topped with melted American cheese and two sunny-side up eggs The presentation was wonderful, the quality of ingredients were fresh, and the flavors pop in your mouth. Stopped here instead of driving another ten miles to Dad's Diner in Copake thinking it was a typical diner fare and was quite surprised as the the Asian fare. The potato leek soup was warm and had a gritty texture hence the three stars, I didn't see a single leek, the pork spring rolls were flavorful as the vegetable spring rolls. read more

This destination does not follow CDC guideline as the identified tables were closer than six feet apart. We waited over ten minutes at our table without anyone having the courtesy to greet us and let us know why they were delayed. First time we tried it again in a while. Wasn't impressed last time, 2 years ago. Food was okay. Coffee ughhh. Super obnoxious bitter and burnt. Cream was broken. Wife n I put cream in and it was curdled. Explained to waitress and she says well it's from Ronnybrook farm and it comes that way. No thank you. We had her take it away and they charged us for it any way. You know you're in trouble when you put s pint of cream in and it doesn't lighten the color. I find that not so customer friendly. I entered and paused at the register to see if the girl there would say anything about where to sit. She was too busy sending a text message to even notice that I was there. I had been warned not to try and sit at a booth unless you were the size of Twiggy so I proceeded to sit at the counter. Well the stools were like sitting on a rock! I have been going to diners of all types for 60 years and this one was one of the worst as to appearance. It just looks shabby. There were not very busy and there were two workers near the other end of the diner not really doing much of anything. No one came to wait on me and there were no menus available. After sitting for awhile and being ignored I left. The girl at the register was no longer texting but just had a sort of blank look on her face as I told her I was leaving since no one waited on me. I have no idea about the food since I never got see a menu. None of the people working there seem to have any idea about customer service and the whole place looks like a Depression era throw-back. I ended up in this restaurant because it was on the way to Stockbridge, MA. I didn't even know this place was still NY...lol The breakfast was really good and tasty. I had the eggs Benedict. The orange juice is really good and they sell a really nice sauce, don't remember the name, the bottle cost $13.00. This place has such a great menu, not the same old diner fare which is a nice alternative to chain restaurants. The menu prices for food is a tad high which is fine as long as quality food, a clean place and attentive service....but one out of three was the case for my experience here. My fiance's eggs Benedict were undercooked and the holindaise sauce runny. My grilled veggie sandwich was outstanding, but my fries were ice cold and were bits of fries with most being a half inch or less in size. (I know that sounds picky but seriously, fries found at the bottom of the bag are usually like this, toss them or mix them in with the full size fries in order to give some value to your customer) The waitress never came back to ask how our meal was. Our waitress was not on the floor and the other waitresses were not available as I could see one busy texting and the other was busy tending to her tables. She didn't ask how everything was when she cleared our plates either, even though none of my fries were touched (that should be a clue to any waitress). I give total credit to this place for their beverage selection as they had a great selection of beer and wine as well as some exotic sodas. Of course, he and I both ordered a diet coke as we always do. But, I was totally floored to see that we were charged $2.99 for each can of soda. I know things are expensive and it would cost that much or more in the City but seriously, that is gouging in every sense of the word. So, poor service, cold food and overcharging on the highest profit item they serve rates this place poorly for me and I would not recommend it. Kudos to the owners for putting together such a quaint place but honestly, if your going to do something.....do it right and get some management on the floor, add some quality control and be a good restaraunt instead of someplace that survives and relies only on location and kitch. read more
