Our pump unfortunately ran out of receipt paper but we were able to walk over to the cashier to get a copy. This is going to be brief folks. There is really not much to brag about at this gas station. There is no Food Mart, and there is no Car Wash. So basically it serves it's main purpose, but not much more. I did notice that they stock drinks close to their bathrooms, but I don't think I want any Gatorade that has been sitting next to restrooms for 3 months. I know, bottles are sealed, but just sayin'. Side note: There is a Sizzler across the street from this gas station, so if you had planned to get your car wash here, and you are a little hungry, BOOM! Conclusion: Convenient location if you are in the general area, but it is a gas station that is not well equipped with the usual amenities that we are used to. Also, prices are right in the middle. How can we make as many entrances as possible, put as many pumps as possible, and minimize the amount of space for cars to occupy as much as possible to make the best ever gas station? That must have been the guiding principle behind the creation of Oakmead Shell. Sarcasm aside, calling Oakmead Shell a disaster would be an understatement. There's no easy way to get into a pump, what with so many entrances and cars facing all different directions. Because of the mess, I even forgot which side of the car my gas tank was! I tried to maneuver around cars going all directions, but I ultimately had no luck. Ended up deciding to cut my losses and take my business elsewhere. Sorry Oakmead Shell. Words can't even describe what a mess of a gas station you are. It takes a certain genius to make a bad gas station. It takes a really special genius to make Oakmead Shell. Horrible Customer Service. I don't know if it's the same Gas Clerk Manjit but the guy was also agressive and very unhelpful. I was there at night and the guy was a real pain in the arse. It's a shame because I'm all for diversity and making it in the North America. I'm not racist at all but if he doesn't like here, don't live or work here. I'm an international customer and I need to pay prior to gassing up. I don't know how much gas I need for a full tank as it's not my car. He didn't even try to accommodate. I even offered him cash as collateral, he said no. And why is he yelling the whole time? If you have the choice don't go there. read more

Not sure why there are so many bad reviews. I went here for the first time this morning and didn't have any issues. I was hesitant after reading all the negative reviews about how it's hard to navigate your way to a pump based on the design of the station. However, when I pulled in around 7am on my way to work there was a whole row of pumps available. The price is pretty good and lower than the average Shell station in the area. If you can get here during off hours or early in the morning, I don't think you'll have any issues. read more

I don't usually review gas stations, but I think this one needs one. Whoever designed this gas station needs to be fired ASAP. This gas station is designed SO POORLY, that this is the last of my last resort gas stations to go, only if my gas light has been on for awhile and I don't think I'll be able to make it home. -_- Yes, it is a small gas station, but I've seen smaller ones that don't have this issue. It was like HMM, how can we fit as many pumps as we can in such a small space? The "lanes" are so narrow that you can fit ONE car in them... note there are 3 pumps in a row, so if you happen to be that middle car and you finished pumping gas first, you need to wait for either the car behind you or in front of you in order to get out. The path by the kiosk in the middle are a little wider, but not wide enough for you to drive by without risk of hitting any cars! It is a gamble. I've seen cars scrape other cars before at this gas station. I hear the gas attendant tell this security guard (who was getting gas I assume), and even the security guard lady was saying "I told you, this place is too cramped!" so maybe they should do something about it! I'd much rather get gas by my house before I leave for work since this station is always more expensive anyways. I want to take photos so all you yelpers can see this monstrosity that is a gas station, but just thinking about going there makes me grumpy... read more

This is my last resort gasoline station EVEN though it is very close to my house. Very crowded and has little space in between terminals. There is a high tendency for a motorist to collide with another. There isn't enough space to move, especially when you're done filling up and there's another motorist next to you. This gas station is located on the corner of Bowers and Augustine, right next to a McDonald's and in front of a Specialty's. Not often crowded but the space is very tight and limited. I give it 2 stars for proximity and because it is never crowded. read more

The gas selection is on par with other competitors down the street. They offer three varieties of gasoline, all of which are enhanced with nitrogen. Someone backed into my car while I was pumping gas once. Then he stepped out his car and looked at me like it was me who fucked up. They charge for air and water. read more

This is an in and out gas station for me (if I'm lucky--read below)... I find the prices here to be reasonable and lower than most other Shell gas stations around. My one gripe is if you go to any of the side stations and get stuck in the middle...you are...well...stuck in the middle until one of the cars in the front or back leave. Long story short, no room to swerve out of the stall if you are in the middle. read more

This location is the one I go to because it's the closest to my work and the 101 freeway when I am on my way home. The pumps always are well maintained, but the staff sitting in their booth are a bit unresponsive and won't help you with much more than taking your money. read more

For being right off the freeway, this is one of the cheapest Shells in the area. It's 30 cents a gallon cheaper than the one off Montague/Lafayette. The only whack thing about it is the narrow channels to the pumps. Make sure you're not at a middle pump or you'll get blocked in from either side. Otherwise consistent in their low prices. read more

Don't ever get gas here !!!! I had to get a quick gallon the other night. $4.03. My bank sends me notifications after transaction. I got the $4.03 notification and then one for $75.00 !!! I went to cashier and he printed up transactions and mine for $4.03 showed up. He had no clue and couldn't give me an answer. I called the bank and said they put a $75.00 hold on my card. Normally it's just a hold. But for some reason it withdrew it. The bank said in normally takes 5 days. I checked again today and the bank said I need to call merchant. I used my ATM card at the pump and it said "Go see cashier" I go to the booth the cashier is sitting on her ass not only that when I approach the booth she see's me coming and she moves into the corner where no one can see her, like I didnt see her try to hide. read more

Just tried to pay for air in my tires. That guy behind the counter insisted that we purchase food or something else or I couldn't get air. Doesn't get more unethical than that. Then he tried to keep $.50 as a tip and I reminded him that his machine had &1.50 posted. In some ways I'm glad my children were with me because it gave me the teachable moment to talk about ethics in business. This gas station has reasonable prices compared to other stations, but it is poorly designed. They tried to squeeze too many pumps into the small area, so I ended up getting stuck in the middle of a few pumps and had to wait an extra 5 minutes to get out of the station. RIDICULOUS design. The nice gas station attendant is the only reason I am giving 2 stars. read more

This Shell gas station is clean and plenty of pump for many cars. I have never used the cashier service so I cannot on them. Their gas price is reasonable or lower as compare to 76 or Chevron. read more

The only thing that makes this gas station different from the ones I've mostly been to has been that they have a lot of their drinks out in the parking lot. I only stopped there to fix the air pressure in my tires. Their Air machine didn't have a pressure gage. When I asked them about it they said it's broken and asked me if I want to buy the gage. First, pressure gage needs to exist in order for it to be broken. Second, assuming it was broken, they should have a gage to borrow not to buy. This is a simple service that I pay for it at the machine and shouldn't be forced to buy parts for it. read more
