I got a flat and called when there was only about an hour remaining before they closed. They tried to repair the tire but, unfortunately, it was beyond repair. I rely on my vehicle for work, I travel a ton. So, I needed a place near where I live, had convenient scheduling and wouldn't bend me over the price. This place fits all three. The owner who has taken care of me every time I've gone is the epitome of how an owner/operator should run a business. Anything he's ever fixed on my car he has explained to me in detail what needs done and the ways he could do it. I like how he gives you the options and his opinion, then you decide. He puts the car up for you and show you what the problem is. He even keeps the parts he replaced to show you what the issue was and gives you a side by side of the new part. Just one little example. I took it there for an oil change and tire rotation. I mentioned that my brake warning light was on though my brakes were new and in good shape. Instead of taking advantage of me not knowing what the issue was, he diagnosed it and told me it was just a wire to the sensor was bad. He'll replace it the next time I come back for a tire rotation. This guy has a customer until I move away. read more

If I could give this place negative stars I would. Having lived in oakmont for years I personally know 3 people that they scammed along with myself- took my car to them for a simple steering wheel shake and the bill came to over $1000- claiming all kinds of things needed to be replaced on a well maintained car. Multiple friends have had transmission fluid overfilled by QUARTS- my mom just had her oil overfilled and had to have it completely re done. Either they have the most clueless people working there or beware of these people they are total crooks. read more

They called me prior to doing the work and explained all that needed done along with my options for repair and their recommendations for each repair. My Jeep started making a horrible grinding noise, which I believed were my brakes, Monday evening. I called my dealership to request an appointment and they told me they could get me in on September 16th, mind you I called them on August 28th. They said it would be a fee of $112 just to look at the brakes and run diagnostics. I found oakmont automotive while doing some research and saw they had wonderful reviews on their site and on google. I called on Tuesday to see if they could get me in any earlier. All of my interactions were with Tony and he was wonderful from start to finish. He told me to bring the car in right away after work and they would take a look at it on Wednesday. They get very busy at the end of the month with inspections and he stated they were booked solid, but the brakes are considered an emergency and he would be able to squeeze me in. I got a call early Wednesday morning and he told me that my brakes and rotors were completely worn down and rusted, I shouldn't have passed inspection back in February (I will never be taking my car to my dealer again, that's where I get my yearly inspection). He said he would have my Jeep all fixed up by Wednesday evening. I worked late Wednesday and had to pick up my car Thursday morning. He was more than accommodating and told me I could pick up my vehicle at 7:30 am on Thursday. The pricing was fair and I trust oakmont automotive for all of my vehicle needs. We have been using Oakmont Automotive for over 1 year since being recommended by our previous mechanic Bob Roth of Roth Automotive in Verona who gave us excellent service for over 30 years. The service and the staff have been excellent till pour last encounter on Sept 30, 2019. We scheduled an inspection of our 2008 Ford Focus and dropped the car off Sunday night Sept 29. We assumed by doing this that the vehicle would be serviced early on Monday. Upon calling at approximately 11:00 AM to check status or our service request we were informed that the service was not complete and the vehicle was in the service bay. we called again at 1:30 PM and was told the vehicle was still not ready. When we questioned why there was such a delay we were told by the young lady that you were busy servicing 5 waiting customers that were being serviced ahead of us. She was rather short with us and said she would call when the vehicle was ready. At approximately 3:30 PM we called aging to check status. When the phone was answered she imminently snapped that the car was ready. We have been very loyal customers and did not appreciate the fact that it took all day for a simple inspection (there were no problems and nothing needed repaired). I speak from experience as I was a mechanic as a young man and preformed many such inspections. Even though we delivered the vehicle the night before, as a matter of convenience, we were unaware that your policy was to service waiting customers ahead of us. We have followed this same procedure in the past without incident and would have probably handled our actions in another way. We feel that overall you are an excellent repair shop but you need to address this issue so it does not happen again. I wish I could give it NO stars. The owner, Chuck, not only talks your head off, repeating the same thing over and over again, not letting you get a question in edge-wise, but apparently takes it upon himself to give you an oil change when you don't ask for it and he charges over $70 bucks for it! Also, we brought our 2012 truck in; we'd had it less than a year, and upon picking it up, we noticed that the tailgate had a huge dent in it. When we asked him about it, his response was, "that was there when you dropped it off". Complete denial and unwillingness to consider that it happened on his lot. Absolute JERK! So, please be warned that if damage happens to your vehicle in his possession, you are on your own. He will take NO responsibility. read more
