Worst pedicure I've ever had. They make a point to not paint your nails close so that it looks 'grown out' within a week. No attention to detail, left rough edges, etc. No calf and foot massage....some light finger brushing of the skin...nothing like what I get at other places. Luckily, I went while visiting family and this is not my usual place, but I'd never return. The one star is because the place was clean, otherwise, I would have given it the minimum of 1 star. I also took my elderly dad to have his nails trimmed....we requested they cut them short because he can't reach them to cut himself. Since the salon opened , I would stop in for manicures about 8 -10 times a year . In the past year the business has changed . Not very friendly. I don't like to get gel manicures all of the time. The gel makes my nails brittle . If I get a regular manicure the polish seems to be old and they have to mix it . Once it is on my nails, the coat is not even. There are areas on several nails that I can see a shadow of my natural nail. I also notice that polish is easily chipped or gauged. I have never experienced this until the past few months. I started getting my nails done back in October, came here once and then forgot where I went so I went to another place in Royersford. They did my acrylics soooo thick, so I came back here and they fixed it for me and have been my go-to spot ever since. Their prices increase every two weeks for the same exact service and if you don't catch them they will over charge you. in addition I always have to refile and correct my crooked nails after they are done. this time not only did she try to overcharge me even though o tipped her well, she also left my nails lumpy and bumpy with a sloppy acrylic refill job that I could see through the nail polish paint. I decided to do a walk in due to an opening in my schedule. The front desk took me in within 5 mins. The lady who was attending to me was frustrated that she had to take care of me in advance of another customer's appointment. She did fine on the manicure, but I can understand the language and what was being said, which wasn't too pleasant. As for my pedicure, it ended up rushed and uneven but I was so fed up that I just wanted to leave regardless of the outcome. Didn't trust them to correct it. Will never go there again! So believe what you read in the reviews for Oaks Nail spa. I was curious to see if they were accurate or not so I kinda knew what I was getting myself into here. Not very organized and they just take every appointment and walk in. I made an appointment for 5:30. Specifically since I had to be back by a certain time to pick up my son. I got there 5 minutes early and they sat me right back, however, I then sat there for 35 minutes past my appointment time before they even had someone to do my pedicure. I've never sat that long to wait, especially with an appointment. The pedicure was average. Nothing great or relaxing like I wanted, but also was not expecting it since the reviews were bad for here. The girl next to me came in for mani and pedi. It was getting close to closing time and they came and asked her, could she come back tomorrow for her mani!! My toes did look nice and they stayed nice for a while. If you don't mind the wait and jjst want your nails done it would be fine. But when I get a pedicure I like it not to be rushed and I like it to feel relaxing. So I won't be back. read more

How things have changed.. In respect to quality, attention to detail, customer care, the prices and proximity to my job... I've been going for years to get gel and acrylic manicures, with the occasional pedicure.. when I have the time. Let me also preface this by saying some of the employees were amazing and deserve to be somewhere with a better reputation. So here's the deal I have with Oaks Nail Spa and why they are getting 1 star. At least when it comes to my recent experiences with acrylics.. which I've been getting for years. Quality is lacking a lot, lately. The nail lengths & shapes should be uniform.. and depending who works them, that's not always guaranteed. The tools they use at some of their stations are not always looking the most sanitized (have you ever looked at the inside of a nail clipper that wasn't cleaned after 1 or 2 uses?). Some stations' table tops are almost always dirty, and the same wet dingy towel is used to cover it up.. a towel I'd say everyone that sits in that chair would place their hands on to get their nails cleaned, filed, clipped.. you know the deal.. alotta DNA is being shared.. The nail lights on either side of each station always feels gritty and dirty inside. Oh and sometimes they just flat out don't work. On my most recent visit, I had one hand drying in front of the little table fan and the other under the lights.. so that's cool. The actual nail drying station is a JOKE. The on/off switches are held together by electrical tape. Oh and the variety of colors are LACKING. They never seem to get new inventory, as needed or have replacement polishes when the ones on their shelves are running low or are dried tf up. So what they'll do is mix a little acetone to the bottle, shake it up and apply the watered-down version of the polish to my acrylic nails, ya know to get every drop's worth... and put the bottle back. Bc when I'm back for a refill after 2 weeks and I spot the color I used last time, and would like to continue using... I realize it's the same diluted bottle from before. KEEPING AN APPOINTMENT GOES BOTH WAYS. so that's why I would always make an appointment but still, it doesn't seem to matter bc they will accept a walk in whether or not they have someone scheduled in 10 minutes. I've seen it every time. AND THEN they will make you wait for as long as it takes before they'll see you. I'm sad that I won't be coming back after years of being a loyal customer- one that recommended this place to my friends and everyone in my office... bc I did like this salon and the people who worked there, a lot. Some were smart and left for more reputable establishments. My advice to Oaks Nails Spa--- KNOCK IT OFF & GET BACK TO QUALITY WORK. I just moved around here and i usually go to solar nails but they didnt have any availability. So i wanted to give this place a try. I called ahead to see if they could take me, he asked how far i was, i said 5-10 mins and he responded "make it 5." That was my first red flag but i wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt. As soon as i walk in this guy is on me about hand sanitizing, then washing my hands, it was just to much to my liking. They wee not friendly and it seemed like a hostile environment. My nails came out ok, but i still needed to file them when i got home. Also he kept pulling on my arm when he was doing my nails in an aggressive manner. After the gel there was no hot towel or lotion, just said i was done. Then charged me $45 for a basic gel refill and one broken nail. I literally couldn't wait to leave. Usually they are on point as I have been coming here for a couple of months now, but today was awful. I stopped in on a Tuesday around 4pm for a fill and a pedicure. Rose did my fill and completely rushed through the entire process. She didn't smooth the acrylic out and now you can see lines and bumps under the polish. Before painting my nails I was moved to the pedicure chair and another lady started my pedicure while Rose finished painting my nails. Being 8 months pregnant, It was awkward and weird to reach across my body so she could paint my other hand. During the pedicure the lady burnt my toe with the callous remover and then kept asking me what happened when I told her my toe was burning. Apparently that's never happened before. Around this time, I realized they were all rushing like crazy because a group of 5 ladies was coming in to get mani and pedi's. If someone had told me I would get crap service just bc another group was coming, I would have gone somewhere else or come back another day. I don't know if I will come back. I don't need to spend that kind of money for crap service and to be rushed through. Pregnancy hormones aside, I'm really not happy and will be fixing my nails later myself. read more

First time here, saw Kate. Had a lavender spa pedicure. I had hot wax wrap and hot stone massage. The massage was very long and so relaxing. Toes look great. Cost 35$. No tipping with card and they have a 10$ minimum for card as well. Will definitely be back. It's so worth the money! read more

I had been going here for over a year for pedicures. I previously loved the pretty intense foot scraping. That is, until I got cut during my pedicure last week. I felt a stinging sensation but I didn't see any blood. I felt more intense stinging when the woman applied what felt like glycolic acid to the bottom of my feet afterward. When I got home, I found blood dripping off my heel. This was 6 days ago, and I'm still treating the wound on my heel that got infected. While I was there, another woman had an issue with how much she was charged. I don't know what service she received, but she said last time it was $20 and today it was $25. Prices are not posted. This seems shady. I don't think I'd ever been charged $37 for a standard mani/pedi before, as I was last week. They've lost me as a customer. read more

I told him three times it did not look good. He didn't offer to fix them or even them out. He also left paint all over my hands, and fingers. He got defensive when I told him I was not happy with the manicure and did not offer to fix it. He insisted that I pay for the nails. He didn't offer me any sort of discount or a chance to come back at better time to have them fixed. $45 dollars to be stuck with bad nails for three weeks isn't really what I wanted when I went in. read more

My gel manicure was sloppy. The tech flooded my cuticles with top coat but placed my hand in the UV lamp regardless. As my nails grew in, the manicure near my cuticle began peeling. In addition to that, the tips chipped easily. Within days, three out of my ten nails were damaged (chipping, peeling, etc). I understand that expecting perfection is unrealistic; but for $30, I expect my manicure to last two weeks at the minimum. Not only was the polish application subpar, but the shaping of my nails was completely unacceptable. Some of my nails were rounded, some were square, some were shorter or longer. The manicure I received totally lacked precision. I can handle rude or dismissive customer service, but I will not tolerate botched manicures. Also, the way they organize their gel polish swatches is anxiety inducing. Literally dozens and dozens of plastic nail swatches stacked in a tiny basket. You can't see all the colors without taking every swatch card out. Swatch cards contain colors they don't even carry anymore. read more

Nothing against the way they do nails, they actually do a good job, but terrible service. Me and my mom went in (my mom is handicapped and in a wheelchair) and they treated her terribly. They did not acknowledge her once, when they had a question about the color or shape she wanted they asked me, even after my mom explained she was more than capable of answering for herself... When i went to have my nails done i arrived at 3:30.. for an SNS dip refill on my natural nail. I asked for ombré. The owner did my nails i believe.. first i had a crack in one nail and i asked him to cut them all down to that length he said "no I'll fix it" he takes out a fake nail. I said "i don't want a fake nail" he said "no no this is better I'll fix it for you" did it anyway after i continued to say no then no turning back there was a nail super glued to my finger. Then he proceeded to dip my nails 3 TIMES just in the clear coating. Then he took out his acrylic dip and brush white and pink and started layering and layering it on my finger. I then told him i didn't understand why he did sns then acrylic when i didn't ask for that. He said "oh this will make it look nicer" i said it's not about what you think looks nice it's about what i want" he said "oh oh okay i messed up" then he shaved down what seemed to be my entire nail and any of the work he had already done to start over basically with JUST acrylic. Well 5:45 2 almost 2 and a hAlf hours later i was finally finished and charged freaking $65 dollars!! Why??? Because of the extra fake nail i SAID I DIDNT WANT... and because of him doing SNS and ACRYLIC. I will never come here again and i do NOT recommend it. Their prices also went up "due to covid and having to get extra supplies" but in reality a nail salon should NEVER be using the same tools on different customers. You can see right through my nails, they are uneven, they are in fact my natural nails added with everything i didn't ask for??? Does this look like it should've been $65?? read more

I had a 1:00 appointment, I was seated right away but no one came over to me for a half hour. Finally someone comes to take my nail polish off and then they walked away. I sit for the next half hour (until 2:00) simply waiting. By that time I wanted to just go home, it wasn't worth it. I went up to the front desk and explained that I simply needed to leave but would pay a few dollars for their time. They take my card, tell me $5 (which seemed fair) but then tell my to sign the receipt which said $25. Keep in mind, all they have done is take the nail polish off my toes. I explain again that I did not want to be charged for a full pedicure considering I did not receive a pedicure.. they held my card hostage and yelled at me in front of all the other customers (one of which who walked right out after announcing how disgusted they were with how they were treating me) until I signed.
