Was walking around the neighborhood for exercise and stumbled upon this nifty hidden gem! This out-of-the-way nursery is all open-air, and makes for a really nice destination to browse a vast selection of native plants. The nursery has everything from perennials to shrubs to small budding trees. There were two employees present when I visited. One was watering the plants and another popped up from a fenced off area in the back to greet us after a while. I didn't purchase anything, but I saw some sweet looking yarrows so I'll probably be back in the future! All in all, a nice place in Berkeley to go to if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of Berkeley. Just be wary of the loud freight trains that roll by because the nursery is right by some train tracks.

I wandered into the store, mostly on a whim, and I'm so thrilled that I did! The staff is absolutely sweet, helpful, and makes shopping so easy. Did I plan on buying a plant? Not at all. Did I? Absolutely! All of their plants are indoor specific, and they will help you find the perfect plant. Do you need a plant that goes in that spot in your Home or Office? That's full Senh? They've got you covered. Do you need a plant that prefers subtle or little to no lighting in your home or office? They've got you covered. Their plants are beautiful, healthy, and they range in different sizes from the most petite, too much larger sizes. The plant I picked out with help from one of the staff, not only is perfect for the space that I want it for, but because I also purchased a lovely ceramic pot, as a complementary service, they repotted my plant in its new ceramic pot. They do offer repotting for your plants, and it's obvious that they have a ton of repeat customers. The store was becoming busy as I was looking at all the different plants, gifts, etc., and if people weren't purchasing arrangements, or having repotting done, they were purchasing new plants like I was. This is a special place to get lost in, shop in, and fall in love with plants.

Every person I've encountered has been such a gem; they're kind and down to earth. Some of the plants are a bit on the pricey side, but they are all beautiful and well cared for, and you're supporting a small business, so it's worth it. On my last trip, I scored a beautiful Hoya Kerrii for $13.50. It was such a fantastic deal considering how many leaves it has! I also love that they have tiny plants in tiny pots, which makes you feel like you're growing something from scratch, plus they're super cute! I'm not in the East Bay often but will make sure I stop here, next time I'm in the area. Highly recommend!

It's a great spot if you're looking to grow your own food or just enjoy a calm walk through nature. There's a section for indoor houseplants, but it's a bit limited. Most of the options are Succulent plants and hardier varieties, so if you're looking for a large variety of tropicals or more delicate indoor plants, you might not find much--though there is a separate indoor plant area that was closed off during our visit. You'll definitely notice the fertilizer smell when you walk in--not overwhelming, but something to be aware of if you're sensitive. Still, the overall atmosphere is relaxing and grounding. It's a really lovely spot to explore, especially if you enjoy gardening or just want a nature-filled reset. Heads-up for allergy sufferers: with all the plants, pollen, and earthy air, you may want to plan accordingly. We didn't directly interact with the staff, but they seemed friendly and helpful, assisting other guests as I walked by. Parking: There's plenty of side street parking available in the surrounding neighborhood, and a few spots right in front of the entrance. I used to visit to find that hidden gem or get inspired to transform a piece of unwanted item into a functional item like a planter or garden art. This place is great for a DIYer or handy man as items have so much potential but can be a bit overwhelming if you're looking for something specific. My recent visit was to find a replacement window for a mini table-top greenhouse I put together about 15 years ago. Unfortunately, after a recent windstorm, 1 window broke and needed to be replaced. The original windows I bought were from a salvage/building resource spot in SF. At the time, buying 6 windows cost me $70 at most. Now (15 years later) for the same quality it will cost you $35-$60/window at Urban Ore. Ouch! I guess these windows may be used for a remodel of an older home. They do have another section for cheaper windows but sadly they look like the one I'm trying to replace...some wood rot, flimsy, peeling and weathered as they're not protected from the elements. Staff outside are friendly and helpful. Worth a stop to check out but some pricing on items a bit higher. Parking inside the gate and along the street.

I decided to look it up so my girlfriend, her sister, and I can go and check it outwhen. Lord behold it's in Berkeley! Ok, not a big deal, but we all kept thinking that they should fix the location across social media videos. We get there and parking isn't easy to find. You have to park in or around the other warehouses in the area or a couple of blocks away. After we found parking we made our way over and oh it was a huge disappointment to behold. I think we only stayed for a few minutes before we called it a bust and a waste of time. Do not, I repeat, do not believe the videos that these social media influencers are feeding your algorithm. There was so much trash, broken products, and some of the furniture that could be salvaged had ridiculous price tags on them. Some sets were incomplete, coffee mugs were cracked, tools rusted, and when asked about certain electronics working conditions they either didn't know or refused to check. Needless to say we were unimpressed and never coming back.
