Mom and I have a go-to when it comes to getting our hair done, but he's located all the way in East LA and didn't feel like sitting through that ever so infamous (not to mention hellish!) DTLA traffic in the middle of the week. Now, I'm on the hunt for a new salon somewhere in the South Bay (for convenience and emergencies) and actually already found one I really liked. But I'm still shopping around - for the sake of comparing - and this place was next on my list. Mom and I were in need for a cut, so I asked her if she wanted to chance it and do a walk-in here. "Yeah, why not." So, we walked in and only one hairdresser was working a customer. Cesar, Emi and Blanca were available. Mom told them she just needed a simple cut/trim. (I have pictures of her last haircut as reference, so showed them that.) Blanca said Emi can work on her. Then I told them I needed a one-side shave and cut. Blanca thought I wanted both sides shaved, so I told her, "No, just one..." and pointed which side. For some bizarre reason, Blanca immediately let out a maniacal laugh, pointing at me and Emi saying stuff in Spanish (not a language I'm very familiar with.) Now. Any normal person will perceive this as a direct insult, off the bat. If my Mom wasn't desperate for that haircut, I would have already walked away. (She's already been seated.) Fine. But after a calm, I just pretended it wasn't about me, whatever she was laughing about. I was even calm enough to let her cut my hair. One can tell by her mannerism that she's not very experienced. Seemed she didn't have a lot of experience with the clippers, she was holding it so oddly. Same with the scissors and combs. And I'm gonna blame the language barrier for having the need to explain to her exactly what I wanted more than twice, which, at the end, she still didn't understand. There was also another one of those banshee-type laughs after I explained further. I just kinda gave up. I figure I'd get it fixed somewhere else once it grows out more. But here's Cesar to the rescue and fixed it all up. Not only did that make me feel more at ease, he made it look all better. (TIP: There's street parking and 2 small spaces at the back.) Mom said she was happy with her haircut, so she doesn't mind coming back (even if it was nowhere near the pictures I showed.) I, on the other hand, am on the fence. I wasn't really vibin' with the entire experience. I might reconsider if I made a direct appointment with Cesar. But for now, the hunt continues... read more

Came in Today 10/3/25 after finding it through a TikTok they mentioned they were by appointment only so I reached out through Yelp (very easy ) btw , I arrived to my appointment 10 minutes before and they sat me right away I was greeted by Cesar and another kind lady (didn't get her name ) , in less then 10 minutes Cesar approached me confirmed what we had spoke via text. Shortly after Blanca began to apply the tint on my hair very lovely lady with calmness not in a rush and very good I should add . My hair was rinsed and then decided to get a hair cut by Cesar which I'm 100% satisfied with , he asked me several questions from How I styled my hair to length and style and he went in i absolutely loved it. I just have to say I'm so disappointed with this place now. It was recommended by my sister-in-law and the first time I came here and got a haircut, it was great. I liked Mr. Cesar's expertise so I brought my son to get a haircut,too and it came out really nice. My son has very thick and curly hair and it was hard to find someone who knows how to handle his hair type, so I was happy that we found a place that we really liked. The next time we went though, we were told that we needed to make an appointment for a haircut, and it would take a LONG TIME for us to wait without an appointment. I asked my sister-in-law if she had to make an appontment and she said she never had to, just walk in every time. So I called to make an appointment with Mr. Cesar and he said he could accommodate us today, but when we got there, we were told that he was busy and was passed off to another guy who messed up my son's hair. To make matters worse, he didn't seem to want to give me change when I paid, and I was so upset that we just left. Oh, and also if you are not Hispanic or speak Spanish, maybe go somewhere else. Pardon me, but I find it disrespectful to speak another language when you know there are other people around who don't understand it. Took my grandma to get a hair cut for her bday and Cesar did such an amazing job! She loved her hair I love the fact that we mentioned to Cesar how she wanted her hair cut (short enough to be able to just comb/style with out having to blow dry her hair) and he was honest about how it might not come out like she expected it to but it came out even better ! He also got to trim my betty bangs into V bangs and did an amazing job (wish i got a picture of them). Overall, for the price, this place was amazing! Paid $15 for a solid haircut (plus tip!). I just got my hair trimmed to shoulder length and asked for curtain bangs. The people here are friendly, patient, and the woman working on my hair was super gentle! Very therapeutic experience. Only reason I knocked off a star was because she blow dried my bangs and left the rest of my hair a little more than damp. As for the other reviews left, on not being noticed or called in, they attended to me very quickly! Just pop in, see if they're busy, and they'll get to you when they can. It was in December, I was so busy at work everyday. My schedule was 9am to 7pm. It was hard finding a salon that's open that late. I searched on yelp for one near me. I found many of them. I called them, they either closed, not answered or they said they will close early even if their schedule on Yelp says they close at 7 or 8pm.  I called this place, it was fast and easy, I'm very lucky because my hair doesn't need much effort. A simple trimming makes it look beautiful.  But they were able to accommodate me and let me walk in. I got there. They were very busy but they always have someone for back-up who is willing to help. I told her what I wanted, she was able to suggest what cut would look good on me, I'm not picky. So I was ok with her suggestion, she cut my hair, she did a great job. I give them 5 stars because they have good service, kind and friendly staff. I highly recommend them. read more

I wanted to get a haircut for a very important day tomorrow. I showed the lady long layers and she did the most messed up thing cut way too much off not even what I asked for in the pics. I knew not even styling would make me feel better and saying something right there and then won't glue my hair back but if I could go back to the past and walk out the salon I would. I came home with wet hair and tried to straighten and it's patchy and uneven it's not even layers. If a hairstylist can't do something then they should say it and not feel ashamed better to have a customer walk out than an unhappy one. I still paid because I'm not a rude person but If you come here just make sure they can do what they say they can and not walk out crying and disappointment like me read more

They older lady is so nice but she fucked up my hair!!! She gave me a bowl cut at the top!!!! Like a whole section that looks like bangs but it was supposed to be long layers!!! Came in and got a styled mens cut from Judy for the first time. She is definitely an expert at her craft. I explained to her the style of hair I wanted and she thoroughly explained the process in obtaining that hairstyle. She also fixed my past crooked haircut from a different salon to where I just need to wait a couple of months for my hair to get longer and she can continue to give me an undercut. It's so hard to find a good men's hair stylist that actually knows what they're doing and isn't just another barber that can fade haircuts but are clueless in actually cutting and styling. I was a walk-in and asked if I could get squeezed in between appointments. Judy took me under her wing and went to work immediately. Service! I realize walking in and fitting me between appointments (her next appointment was in 15 minutes) would be annoying and inconsiderate to most barbers. But Judy is not like most barbers. Judy is a pro! She was able to cut my hair, handle her next appointment, and even shampoo my hair as well, all in the short time frame I gave her! She kicks ass (Also she's badass in other aspects of her life, too, but that's for another review lol). Professonalism! Judy's got 20 years in the business. She let me know that if there's anyone who could do it, it was her. And she sure did! She's amazing, super fun to talk to, and passionate about her craft. Trust! I'd recommend Judy to anyone reading this review. She's the best, has a great heart, and a wonderful spirit, and knows how to cut hair well -- and fast. Sidenote: I was reading the other reviews on here, and for the 1-star reviews, take those with a grain of salt. Everyone at this beauty salon are great and friendly BUT I don't know if it was because I scheduled my appointment last minute or what but from going from no dye or any type of treatment on my hair to what I walked out with was a hot mess!! I can't even brush my hair of how damaged my hair got. I went over and found a wonderful young man, Mr. Cesar. He could sense my nervousness and anxiety on how the haircut would be. He was kind, compassionate and PATIENT with my kiddo. It's rare gem and basically impossible to find someone with skill, suave and sympathetic towards the sensory needs of individuals with special abilities. I had called him a week early and was discouraged to find he still fails to keep phone call appointments. I spent years looking for a good quality salon in Gardena that didn't charge an arm and a leg for a haircut. I'm SOOO happy I finally found Oasis. I've never had a bad experience there. I go to Judy Leidelmeijer. She does a great job. She took my black brown hair to a beautiful bleached blonde that is a both a beautiful color as it is, and a perfect canvas for even the lightest hair color. Not an OUNCE of orange in my hair!
