My Date blamed me because I suggested the Place A friend of mine lives close and she said she goes there periodically but he was expensive she warned but I decided to try it. I took pictures of her food and tried her son's dibi and it had a strong games flavor which to me means it wasn't cleaned properly. Yet I still went and tried it bc she said the Thiebou Yapp was good. The Owner served us and said the Food was the Best In The World so I was like Yesssssssssss. I went to the bathroom to use it and it was dirty and the toilet was broke. I should have left then . Thiebou Yapp and Maafe. Our total was $46 and we couldn't even eat it. It was inedible bc of the salt level. We told the Owner that we couldn't eat the food bc it was too salty and his response was "oh". He CLEARLY DIDNT GIVE A FLYING FU**. We paid and left read more

If I could give this restaurant a lower review, I would. And this is coming from someone, who a fews years ago, loved their food. Dismissing the fact that they didn't have heating in the middle of winter, their restroom was nastier than a gas station out house. I just wish I had seen the restrooms before ordering but I digress. I have been to Oasis a couple of times and always order the same thing, Atchieke with grilled fish. Every single time it tastes just as wonderful as the last time. The seasonings that the chef uses for the fish are mouth watering. I have never been to another restaurant that their grilled fish comes out like Oasis. Only bad thing about the restaurant is the price of a drink. Mango juice, and those like it, are $5!!! Yeah, nooooooo. It is a Senegalese restaurant with great service and a chill atmosphere. Came here for the first time today and I was really thrown off by this place. We walked up and the owner(?) chef(?) was standing out front smoking and the restaurant was 100% empty inside even though it was 6pm so we stood around for a second feeling confused until the guy walked in and showed us to a table. The interior decor was excessively fancy in a sort of neglected way; chandeliers, carved wood doors, marble walls, pillars, etc except the sugar packet holders were sort of smashed lazily into place, the chef guy was wearing a sweatshirt and jeans, and only half of the restaurant's lights were on even though they were open. Don't get me wrong, I love a casual mom and pop restaurant, but the combination of these things threw me off. The menu could've had more explanation on some things (I've never had Senegalese food so I was unfamiliar with some terminology) and was sticky. Despite all this I was hopeful about the food, but we ordered and once the chef went back into the kitchen I started hearing microwave noises (he'd left the door to the kitchen open). It was kind of off-putting to know that my food wasn't being made fresh. Nevertheless when the food got to us it smelled good. My boyfriend loved what he got, some sort of lamb and grain dish with a side of roasted onion sauce and a side of this VERY spicy red pepper condiment. My dish (a fish thing with grains and a nice sauce) was pretty good too, no complaints but I was already so thrown off and uncomfortable about everything else that I struggled to enjoy it. The sauce that the fish was in was lovely I will say. Overall I'm not sure if I would go back honestly. The food wasn't bad by any means, but it certainly wasn't good enough to make me excited about going back, especially with how weird the rest f the experience was. Ordered Maffe, Neme rolls, Yassa, and Thiebou Yap with hopes of a nostalgic meal that would take me back to my time living in Dakar. The Maffe was yummy. The Neme rolls were good. The Yassa and Thiebou Yap....hardly any resemblance to what I expected and absolutely not worth the price. I'm not sure what happened--did they mess up the order? Forget to give me a container of sauce or vegetables? Simply take a tremendous shortcut? I didn't realize what happened until I sat down to eat at home. (I did pick-up and didn't feel comfortable opening all my food to verify my order in a restaurant during a pandemic, especially when the employee assisting me wasn't wearing a mask.) I didn't know Senegalese food would be this good till I tried this place. I would give the food 6 stars if Yelp let me, but it doesn't. Customer service is fantastic, except that one of the guys who works there may appear to come on too strong, but means well. They speak fluent French if you want to try your hand at that. Food, like I said, is phenomenal. Get any of the Yassas with Djollof rice, and you can't go wrong. Their Dibbit is pretty good I guess, but just not my style. The restaurant itself is excessively ambient, but dimly lit. Staff (I've only seen two people, possibly brothers) is very friendly. Highly recommended if you're a fan of ethnic food and in the northern burbs of Atlanta. read more

YES - BUSINESS IS OPEN. I love this place. This is Authentic Senegalese - home of the Original Jolof Rice! I've tried nearly every dish on the menu. The food is rich and full of flavor my favorites are Thebujen, Soupa Kondje, Dakhine (call ahead for this one to make sure they have it), Oxtails, Curry Chicken the list goes on. The food and the service are absolutely amazing. I was the only one in the restaurant at the time which made everything even more special and I will go back in a heartbeat if I'm in Atlanta again. The only reason this place loses a star is due to the fact the prices I was charged are different from what was on the menu. Disappointing. I was initially very excited but when my wife and stopped in it was far bellow expectation. We were kindly greeted with a drink requests and shortly after a meal request. I ordered the oxtail and my wife ordered chicken yassa. The restaurant was empty on a Sunday afternoon with just us and one other table. While waiting for our meals I could hear microwave buttons and the microwave doors opening and slamming in the background from the kitchen. Shortly there after we were presented reheated food that was dry and not fully heated. To make the experience even worse the pricing of the food was not the same as the pricing on the menus on this site (don't rely on these menus) we were charged $3 more on each plate and a can of mango juice was $4. I don't mind paying $40+ for a meal but when I do I feel it should be presented better than a budget frozen TV dinner. We will never return to try it again. I had driven by Oasis daily and never tried the food. The initial reviews were really bad. I stopped by awhile back and there was no one to serve or tend the bar.........but recently someone mentioned that they had stepped up and the food was good.....so I decided to give them a try. I walked in later at night and walked to bar to order Yassa fish (Senegalese pride & joy)......lush. The buttered rice, spicy fish (not too spicy), and a nicely flavoured sauce was very nice......I hope the quality can be sustained. So I do recommend giving Oasis a try......nice read more

Please try their exotic juices (mango, ditakh, Bissap, Bouye, Ginger...) the grilled fish has no equivalent anywhere else. they only have the secret of that seasoning.
