This is a very traditional African restaurant with very tasty food. They're located on a store front so there are other establishments around. I believe they may also do Uber Eats. My friend and I went here late on Friday evening. We were the only two in the establishment. They make food everyday and when it's gone, it's gone. So I got the lamb dish that you will see in the picture. It was great. I am not a fan of lamb but this one was actually really flavorful. The rice was full of fresh vegetables and cooked perfectly. I also opted for freshly made Hibiscus juice! It is made from the real flower. It is a dark red color but it is very fruity! My total came to about $21. But it was a huge portion of food and that included the tip. Definitely will return to try other items on the menu! read more

The piece of lamb they had was meaty and good looking. They offered to buy me the same plate they had so I can have my own. This is a little gem of a restaurant! Was a little skeptical as we walked in for dinner on a Friday night and the place wasn't booming. Looks like a family business, the man who greeted and sat us also took our order and prepared our meals. I chose the Lamb stew dish and my boyfriend the Curry Goat. We were both amazed at the savory flavors. Both of the dishes were delicious with tender meat and plenty of spices. The goat dish is a little spicy, and served with a savory rice. We also ordered their home-made sorrel juice, which was also amazing. The service was very good and quick, place was neat and clean with a quiet atmosphere. I had a hankering for African food, so we drove 35 minutes to one that was opened on Sunday. I called prior to going because I knew I wanted egusi with jollaf rice and my friend wanted fufu with chicken. There were soooo many red flags that warned me to RUNNN! When we arrived at the restaurant no one was present and by the time the lady came out I stated that I called previously and she said your food is ready?!?? Mind you I didn't place an order; only inquired if they served the dishes I wanted. We placed our orders and we waited... and waited... and waited.... As we were engulfed in our conversation we lost track of time but did ask for a cup to taste the juice that was recommended Sorrel & pineapple ginger; which were good. Had to ask for cups again & she grabbed two red cups from under the counter and said they were dirty?!?! So we're keeping dirty cups under the counter? So after some time past we hear her tell someone through the kitchen window to wash/sanitize the cups and we were eventually given two wet cups that were sticky and had stains on them! Fast forward to our food finally arriving... nothing was good! The Egusi was fishy and had a lot of meat that I didn't ask for, and on top of that it was $20! I asked for jollaf rice and immediately realized that the rice looked funny. When the lady asked me why I didn't eat much of my food I explained it was not what I expected and the rice was hard. This is when she decided to give a lesson in different parts of Africa the way the food is prepared varies. She then told me I had cous cous and not the rice I requested. It was my birthday weekend so my friend was treating me to lunch & that's when we were told our meal was $74?!?! Mind you we left 85% of the food on the table and refused to go containers because why? I will say the two guys said their meal was awesome, and I asked another customer about her order & she stated that they had excellent peanut soup. I ordered Suppa Kandja with fufu. It was $17 for it, which is fine considering it says large portions on the menu. What I received was a styrofoam container with a small pint size soup in it. There was barely any sauce for said soup. The beef patty was in a greasy brown paper. I called the store immediately and was yelled at by the man who answered the phone. Food was delicious and customer service was friendly. Come hungry, portions are large. Also come earlier in the day. This is a family restaurant. I finally made it to this nice spot a few months ago but, due to out of town work obligations, forgot to rate it until now. For me this was definitely a 5-star dining experience. Though my Peace Corps years a far behind me I still wax nostalgic for West African cuisine from time to time. African delights had me at maafe and chebu-jien. The peanut butter based meat dish and grilled fish & veggie plate (both served over rice) lived up to all my dreams and cravings through the years. Both were extremely well seasoned and served piping hot by a very warm, professional waitress, who pandered to my diminished Pulaar & Wolof language attempts. Despite my friend and i having to roll ourselves out of there, after the wolfing down most of the two generously portioned meals we ordered, the memory of other menu items guarantees I'll be rolling back in someday soon. Ate here a couple of weeks ago. Let me say the food was excellent and the proportions were very generous. This place would have got 5 stars but for the service. I think it was more-so a cultural thing then indifference. When we walked in everyone was in the kitchen and didn't notice us. Placed our orders and once again the food was spot on when it came. We waited for our check when finished. I had to finally go stand at the register to get checked out. If they improve on paying attention to the customers they will easily get 5 stars in my book. I also had a very delicious appetizer that I can't remember the name of, but it was basically like some kind of spring roll with beef and shrimp. Everything was absolutely amazing. The flavors were so fresh and authentic. The ginger juice is definitely a must try if you're a ginger fan like me. They're not stingy at all on the ginger, so much I was able to dilute it when I got home to make a whole other drink. The staff was very polite and helpful, even though I arrived a few minutes before closing and had no idea what I wanted. I've order food here in the past and built an awesome relationship with the owner and her son Mohammed. It really hurts that I have to write such poor review when I fallen in love with the owner her son Mohammed and their food. But I wanted to share this experience with you to give you the fair chance in knowing that this could happen to you as well. However today I called to place an order via phone and request delivery through the business. A gentleman by the name of Cham answered the phone and stated that they do not do delivery and then I would have to go online and place the order through GrubHub. And then did just that went online and place the order through GrubHub. After some time I called to confirm that the order was placed and will be delivered. The gentleman by the name of Cheung answered the phone and stated that the prices that were showing on GrubHub were incorrect they were no longer 1599 but instead they were $22. He then requested that I call GrubHub and canceled the order and stated that he would not be making the order that I need it to go to DoorDash and place the order again I advised him that I was back on the website and the only other option to place the order was through GrubHub and that there was no option to place the order through DoorDash. He then started laughing and said that he was not placing the order. I didn't confirmed so you're not going to make the order for me he stated no. This is very disappointing considering the fact that I have recommended this place to so many of my friends and I've enjoyed going through the menu to try different cuisines my daughter and I have found a love for African cuisines and throughout the month we've been trying different dishes sometimes ordering more than one dish at a time each time I've ordered those specific African cuisines they've been about the same price $15. So for this to be the case is very saddening although that gentleman was not there when I placed the order the first couple of times and he did mention that the owner wasn't there today it makes me feel like I never wanna go back and also I want to advise everyone of this experience. This is an OK and it's not fair. It's not the customers fault that you did not change the prices reflecting on GrubHub or any other delivery sites. Then to say that he's not going to make the order when my $30 won't be refunded I'm not really understanding was happening. My co- worker and I shared their jerk chicken special. This was one heaping ,mess of camel dung! Wth? Dark, hard pieces of chicken with the darkest heaviest rice and peas ever. The cabbage was bad too. We both got heartburn from eating a very small amount. The " sauce" over the rice and peas wasn't even a sauce. It was a paste. The food was obviously leftover from the day before. We are still trying to figure out why the food was soooooooooooo heavy, dense, and very low quality. Such a hidden gem. I decided to research and support local businesses during COVID and stumbled across African Delights. From the initial contact on the phone it was a pleasant experience. The owners were so sweet and patiebt as they talked me through the menu. Upon arrival, I will be honest and say the restaurant is not aesthetically attractive but clean and minimal. I was greeted with a warm smile and my food was hot and ready to go. So why the four stars? I must say the Caribbean food was good but not as flavorful as I would have liked and the oxtails were not tender..BUT the pan grilled fish was the best I've had in years! Something I would order weekly-- fresh and flavorful. On my next visit I may try the more traditional African dishes to compare to the Caribbean ones. Ordered through uber eats and I must say it's pretty tasty! I ordered the curry chicken. Ordered the small and I was worried it wouldn't be enough but it's actually quite a large amount. I wish that there were more options for the sides since I'm not a huge fan of plantains however the meal is delish with the perfect amount of seasoning. A tad spicy but nothing overbearing. I grew up eating seafood caught by family in the gulf coast, and I have fished in the Gulf and on the Atlantic coasts and know my way around seafood, but I was not prepared for how amazing the Grilled Fish is!!! I have had East and West African food before as well as Caribbean style food, but my bestie hadn't so the adventure was more on their side than mine at this restaurant. Our visit was on a Sunday evening. I apologize in advance for not having the actual menu cultural names. The online menu is not synonymous with the in-restaurant menu. 1) When I have a Restaurant.com certificate I always ask in advance does the restaurant still accept. The woman at the front wasn't sure so she asked a man in the back of the restaurant. They spoke in a different language going back and forth and then she came back and let me know yes, but only this time. (So Restaurant.com users steer clear of this one or be ready to pay). We were the only customers but there were about 3 or 4 kids running around and 1 on a scooter who almost hit my pinky toe so that is why the ambience score is low. It could have gone to 1 but I felt like part of the ambience was culturally authentic. 2) My excitement with their online menu and what I really wanted my bestie to try were the Samosas, but they were out of them. I soon came to find that just about everything I wanted on the menu wasn't available. For appetizers we settled on what was a spring roll with several meats and spinach (DELISH!) and an empanada with fish and various garnishes (also very DELISH). Both under $2 but they were small so I definitely would have "splurged" and gotten one more of each . Our drinks came in a can and a bottle (that was fine with me, in business it's better to offer pre-packaged items. Takes the pressure off the owner if something goes wrong so I can respect that). 3) I'm glad we were the only ones there because it took a little while to get our food...but it wasn't anything crazy like an hour. It just made me wish I had gotten more appetizers. It was well worth the wait. My bestie is VERY picky and like I said the "adventure" here was more for them. And they were very satisfied. So much so that the little onion veggie-like salad was good to them too and they hate raw onions. Our meal was lamb, the onion vinegarette -like salad, fries (for bestie) and fried plantains (for me). Their food in this category of meal was a 5 all the way 4) Check comes and the $10 from the gift certificate hasn't been taken off? Check total $32 (roughly) so we should be looking at a total of $22+tax. She takes it back claiming to reduce it by the $10 and the total comes to $29 . Uh ma'am that's $3 not $10. We didn't argue and just paid it. The caliber of meal + drinks for roughly $16 each was worth it but the extra price was not expected. 5) My synopsis. Great food but go there for take out only. It's not a date night spot, or a gather with friends type of spot. At best it's a read a book, eat some great food at the same time spot. And since honoring the Restaurant.com agreement is too difficult then either choose another spot or expect to pay. read more

I've tried the hottest peppers in the u.s . this was Horribly spicy , as if it was made with the hottest peppers and I only tried half a spoon... Garbage , I was sweating tearing up . I've had plenty of African food and it's been always great even from the smallest locations. This I wouldn't even feed my dogs with. My friend and i were feeling adventurous since we were out to lunch with no kids. We decided on African Delights and were so happy we did. Everything we tried was followed by : "you *have* to try this". We shared a meat pie, some egg rolls and a lamb dish with couscous. it was all amazing.
