THEFT! He continued to tell me that under Arizona law, I could face up to 6 months in jail. WHO DOES THAT?! He also told me he is a trained lawyer....are you trying to intimidate me?? After speaking with United healthcare today, it looks like the contract between them and the Smile Institute ended back in December of 2023 and was just reinstated on July 1, 2024. Super suspicious. He chose not to call, prompting me to write this review. As part of my visit on 9/24, before the cleaning I specifically went there for, the dental assistant performed a gum charting exercise (if not familiar, it's an easy Google lookup to describe what the charting numbers mean). For each tooth, she read out to her assistant 4s and 5s. A 12 year old failing implant had a much higher reading I'm sure was accurate. Dr. Noll told me I need a deep-cleaning to the tune of approximately $600...I subsequently saw my periodontist a few days later to evaluate the old implant. He performed another charting that revealed 2s and 3s. I then asked if I'd benefit from a deep cleaning, and I guess because of professional courtesies between doctors, he reluctantly told me I won't benefit from the procedure. It was the difference between what I was told at this appointment and what my periodontist said that led me to move on.

I actually had fun we laughed the entire time they worked on my teeth. And no I didn't have laughing gas. Dr. Schuerman has to be the coolest hippest most caring dentist I have ever met. Dr. gave me a variety of options for the restoration, with clear pricing info for each one--and he has a very nice manner. This is now my new dentist!
