I love the big window in the front, letting in tons of light on all of their plants around the waiting area. The chairs are comfy, and there's a great selection of products to choose from. I love the hair washing chairs as well. They're so much more comfortable on my neck than the ones I've sat in in the past. Jeannie has always done an absolutely amazing job with my hair since I was a kid and continues to do so. Once you find it you quickly realize there is handicapped parking but no handicapped access. There is no elevator. I asked about this and was told the building is exempt. The staff are all related. I thought Tyler was quite nice. I had a cut and color. He seemed confident. He cut my hair into an inverted bob. He swore this would lay under. I told him my hair is very fine and getting curlier and it doesn't take layers well. Okay, so fast forward 2 weeks and my hair is looking like an Xmas tree with divisions in layers all around. Hmmmm. So I called his mother answered the phone. I politically correct stated could I stop by and have Tyler look at my hair I am not having a fun time trying to style this. The mother proceeded to get very defensive and tell me nobody complains about Tyler's work. She then tells me Tyler squeezed me in when he didn't have to. She stalled around and basically said he was very busy in the future and was booked full. I am sick and tired of peoples egos. This behavior is unprofessional. I happened to be driving down the street and I saw a sign at the driveway entrance thanking Stanwood for voting for them as best salon and I immediately turned in to find out about it, and I'm so glad I did. The receptionist (I apologize, I forgot her name!) was very helpful and friendly and suggested Leslie and mentioned she'd had a cancellation for this afternoon and I booked it. I was very impressed! Leslie asked all the right questions, looked over the disaster that my hair was, gave me suggestions of what we could do to make it look it's best while it grew out, all the things I wanted and needed a stylist to do. I knew before she ever got finished that I'd finally found who I was looking for! She did an amazing job on my badly chopped hair and I was elated when she finished because it looked great. I've already made a follow up appointment and I highly recommend her. The salon is really lovely inside, a very welcoming and tranquil place.
