Located in the University District, Cafe Happy is situated off the Ave, so it's away from all the noise. This is my new favorite place to do work and edit content because there's plenty of seating (and different kinds too), many nearby outlets to charge your devices, free Wi-Fi, and board games if that's your thing. Temperature inside is nicely regulated. Lighting is sufficient. And there's a neon 'this is my happy place' sign that will brighten your mood. As for the boba, I've gotten their matcha, taro, regular milk tea, and Lil Lychee Iced Tea - all were solid. The chewiness of the tapioca was also consistent each and every time. For my customizations, which is usually medium ice and 50% sweetness, they come through each and every time. Also, I will point out that service is ninja-speed QUICK. You can order either at their kiosk up front, or through DoorDash or Uber Eats, and they are no cap super fast...! Does this place serve the best boba? No, which is why my rating is 4 stars instead of 5. But that's ok. Leave that for the Chicha Sanchens, TP Teas, and Xing Fu Tangs. Everything else about here slaps!

I've been to Acai places in LA, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, airports, other places and I can never find Acai as consistently good as this. Either the fruit is thawed frozen fruit, the Acai is soupy, or for some other reason, those other places just aren't as good. Beyond the Acai, I'm a big fan of the beef pockets, the ham and cheese pockets, the chicken cones, and the Nutella-filled cheese bread. A vegetarian colleague likes to come here for breakfast when he's in town for the egg, spinach, and cheese-filled cheese bread. If you're looking for a great Acai spot, I can't recommend Kitanda enough.

My friend got their signature milk tea at 50% sweetness too, though when I had a sip I found it much sweeter than mine like it was at 100%; my friend also said he felt like it wasn't at 50% either. The drinks made were inconsistent, though this didn't affect my particular experience here. The interior complemented the hot, sunny day with warm colors; the brown hardwood floors, the lighting inside and the white walls contrasting with the front counter that has all the colors, be it from the croffles or their menus up on the TV monitors. They also serve a variety of other foods and desserts that were also at the front display counter. You can order up at the front counter, or you can use the lone kiosk to the immediate right-hand side of the front entrance to peruse the menu and place your order. In general, it's a very cute cafe with low-volume music, some board games and a matching minimal interior to boot. Their menu offers a wide variety of drinks including caffeinated and non-caffeinated dinks, coffee, milk tea, matcha and others. Their croffles are also on display at the front counter, though I couldn't tell if they were real or not. When I placed my order for a mango croffle and classic milk tea, they definitely did not take or even touch the mango croffle already in the display case; staff took about 15 minutes or so making the croffle and getting everything to me on a tray, complete with utensils and napkins. For each of the foods I got: - The mango croffle is literally a waffle in the best shape and hump for a croissant you can probably get. It looks like it's psrinkled with flour and drizzled in syrup, followed by tons of whipped cream on the top and some okay-quality mango slices. The croffle itself was more than warm and on the borderline of hot, so that's a huge plus for me here. None of the different kinds of sweetness provided by these layers interfered in any way, hence I finished quickly and without a ton of water. - The classic milk tea (with regular sweetness and less ice) was actually for my mom, and I only got a sip of it after she had the majority of it when I returned home.
