Walking into the shop I was not greeted, I looked pretty confused if we're being honest, and was offered no help. I found my way to the fridge to pick out flowers for a bouquet thinking they would wrap them or fix them of some sort... no help still. I check out and I'm holding the bare flowers in my hand and ask if they have anything to wrap them in & they said they ran out of cellophane. I walk out, paid $28 for some flowers & roses to be unwrapped, not one person offered help or even told me anything about the process. Never been so disappointed in a flower shop. I received flowers today but no one rang the bell and they sat on my front porch until 10:30 at night when I locked the door before going to bed and noticed them. The arrangement was placed directly in front of the door opening (although I have a large porch) to where I could not open the door without knocking over the arrangement. As it was the center flower in the arrangement was broken off and laying down in the pot. I could get to the flowers by going out thru my garage and walking around the house to the front porch but this was an unnecessary inconvenience. Are people that do deliveries required to have brains or foresight? Needless to say, the petals are falling off of the flowers and the ones remaining are wilted or dead. I have bought flowers from this shop about 30 or 40 times but will now take my business elsewhere. read more

I ordered flowers for my wife and the store employees sent old dying flowers to her. The roses pedals were fully opened and curling backwards. Some of the pedals are about to drop from flower. When I spoke to customer service or store, the young lady apologized and offered a re-delivery, but I declined and asked for a refund. I don't recommend buying flower from this store unless you can go in person to see your bouquet being made. Ordered dz roses delivered. Recipient sent me pictures&called me to say the flowers were lovely but looked like she had had them at least 3 days.completely open. I called the number for oberers and spoke with a woman who told me that the arrangement had been delivered that morning and then went through the entire timeline starting with they major order 40 minutes after you submitted it online and gave me every time and step along the way. I found that a little insulting oh and I also told her that they couldn't have been made this morning because they were delivered yesterday. She then told me that the roses were completely normal it was a certain kind of rose that they get when they open they are very large and that's why they look like that and I told her I had never seen a rose open like that and would not last and I was not happy. She said she could send out a replacement but it would be the exact same type of rose and I ask why I was not told anything about these roses opening sooner or not lasting as longer or anything of that nature and she said again well if you want to replace but we can do that so I said please yes send a replacement I'm going to post a picture of the replacement the roses looked even worse they didn't bother to pull the brown pedals off to me they look like they are the "reduced for quick sale" you see at the grocery store. And when the second bunch was delivered they were just running the doorbell and put on the porch versus the very nice delivery of the original bouquet so overall just done with this florist. A friend suggested Oberer's to send in an arrangement for a friend's father. We wanted a keepsake with the flowers and chose the piece with the stepping stone. When placing the order we asked about alternatives to the flowers; however, this isn't an option for the sets shown online. The arrangement was nice enough while on display. The stepping stone was a bit wonky and crushing flowers but I understand that can happen during transport. This is the second time I've ordered from Oberer's. The first was for my daughter's father-daughter dance. Her corsage fell apart before they even got to the dance. I gave the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe it was due to her age and maybe her fault, even though I knew she was careful with it. This time, I picked up my order and my son's boutonnière's wax flowers already looked dead but I didn't want to complain so I took the box and left. As he was putting his date's corsage on, the flowers started coming unglued and one fell out, the same way my daughter's had done. It was a little embarrassing and I had her take it back off and tried to fix myself before they left for their night. I would not recommend this florist and will not be using again. read more

Received a pretty arrangement of fresh flowers for my birthday. They were left at my front door while I was not home, with no call or text that they'd been left. It had to have been delivered by Orberer's as the sender lives out of town. They wilted within 24 hours in a cool environment with fresh water. (No preservative provided). Not sure what the cost was, but definitely not worth whatever was paid. Your money has to better spent almost anywhere else. read more

Recently sent some flowers for my aunt's funeral. On their website viewed under sympathy their Fireside white rose and calla arrangement. Then called and talked to a very helpful person at the store about my selection and details to assure expedited arrival to the church. There arrangement had two prices one with more flowers at a higher price and one with less. Determined with the help of the florist that the less expensive allowed the a better balance and look with the greenery for my selection. Ordered a wreath for my mother's funeral but because it was at a church instead of funeral home they refused to deliver wreath before the service. Their policy is because churches don't accept flowers before the service. Kept trying to explain that the visitation AND funeral were at the church but they still refused delivery before service. I asked if I could pick them up, that was refused. I even offered to let them keep the delivery charge but was still refused. read more

Unfortunately, this florist struggles with delivering what you order. Reliability is not their strong suit. I have had two incorrect orders and to their knowledge. (A large bouquet that I had delivered and high school dance items that I picked up) They do apologize at pick up or after delivery, however, they simply say, "we were out of this." A phone call should be made if a substitution is necessary due to lack of inventory. They will refund you if you email their corporate office, however, I want a florist that can deliver on their commitment or at least make a phone call. read more

This is a great flower shop right by my house. I like to run in there to grab some flowers for my house or to give as a gift. They have a very fresh selection of arrangements, plants, and other nice items. They will also do a bow in the color of your choice. I do get their emails and take advantage of the Grab and Go specials they will send out. they are just for the day they are sent but I have gotten some great flowers and amazing prices. This was my first time here, I was looking to sent flowers in a hurry and this shop was the closest one near by so I decided to give them a chance. So glad I did! She said sure, she will even refreshen the arrangement replacing some of the older flowers and place ribbon around both items. I was skeptical. I ordered flowers for my daughter on a Friday for her opening on Saturday. They were supposed to be delivered on Friday afternoon. On Saturday morning, my daughter hasn't said anything so I called to check. They did NOT get delivered. No one called me to let me know. I explained that the salon was closing from 4-6 and needed them delivered prior to 4. At 4:07 my daughter called and I point blank asked her. They had not been delivere. I called to store and the girl assured me they would be delivered right away. 20 minutes later, she called back to say the delivery person was not allowed to stop for the delivery, (it was at a hotel!) so, she left. The bottom line is the flowers should have been delivered Friday like they were requested, or they should have told me they couldn't do it. I understand people are short staffed, but this was important and special. I won't be using them again. read more

I was really disappointed to see that Oberer's had a 3 star rating because I have never left there without receiving the upmost assistance and guidance. I really could not speak more highly of a florist. The ladies there are so knowledgeable and helpful. I was hosting an event once and had sent in a large order for several dozen roses. While the phone call was a bit challenging and I did not feel entirely confident my wants were understood, I was informed that their main line is based out of a different city - not Louisville. Perhaps this is where some of the bad reviews come from. I went into their shop in Westport Village a few days later to ensure that my order was correct, what I wanted, and so on. Upon realizing it was not what I had hoped for, the ladies there helped me cancel my order, find me something much more simple and beautiful, and saved me hundreds of dollars. They were so kind in offering their expertise, their eye, and time. I was so appreciative. On their site, they have a "Today's Special" tab that provides beautiful, beautiful arrangements for a really reasonable price. I have sent these specials several times to friends, coworkers, etc. The quality is amazing and a really great, beautiful, and affordable option. read more

Such a disappointment. Honestly, I have ordered from Oberer's several times over the years and felt that they provided beautiful flowers at a reasonable price. So when it was a good friend's birthday I chose to use them again. I placed an order (totaling $110) online on Friday for a Saturday (her birthday) delivery. On Sunday, after not hearing that she received them, I checked the status online and it stated pending shipment. So I phoned and asked for an update as it was to have been delivered the day before. It was near closing, but I was told that the delivery was in transit to delivery now. I asked if they could provide a reason why they were not delivered on time and really did not receive an answer. I also asked why I was not contacted to inform me that there was an issue in delivering and that they would be late. No answer to this either. But because I was told that they were being delivered now, I moved on. Better late than.... So on Sunday I reached out to my friend and was told no, she did not receive the flowers. So, again on Monday I phoned and this time I was told they were delivered this morning (Monday). I said I called yesterday and was told they were being delivered then...what happened. Again, no reason given. So on Monday, I again checked with my friend after being told that they were actually delivered (not simply being delivered, but actually delivered) and no flowers were delivered. I called and talked to a supervisor/manager multiple times and honestly felt lied to at this point. So order placed on Friday, after never delivering my flowers at all they charged my credit card the $110 on the 11th. After advising them the flowers were not delivered and that I was not happy they said they would refund me the money. A week later and nothing yet. Again, not ideal to have had to pay for something I never received and for it to take a week (or more perhaps considering I don't have it yet) to be refunded. When I phoned the Dayton (corporate) location I was told that the local Louisville store in Lyndon was under new management. If this is how they are going to run the store, by providing false or misleading information or by never delivering orders, they are in trouble. Personally, there are many other florists in town so I will not be using Oberer's again. I completely understand the environment of today, with staffing shortages, etc. A phone call or a discussion would have helped tremendously so that I could have perhaps made other arrangements to have flowers delivered by someone else. Instead, all I received was disappointment. read more

Attempted to place an order for delivery online for Mother's Day, website was glitchy, so I called. When running my card information, I kept trying to inform the male that it was specific to the Billing zip code. After 2 more attempts of him not changing that specific info, he states "Fine, we will try it your way." Then after making the correction (after multiple prompts on what needed to change), card goes through, no apology or professionalism. Overall, he could've listened to customer more efficiently in this situation and it would've been a more pleasant conversation/experience for a FIRST TIME customer. I am so disappointed in Oberer's Florist today. I have been a customer since 2014 when they did my daughter's wedding flowers. This year for the first time I was trusted with planning my corporate holiday party for 220+ people. I was really excited about doing this and I wanted it to be perfect. I immediately chose Oberer's for the centerpieces. The first time I called I got a really chilly reception from the girl answering the phone. She told me to just email them what I wanted - but she gave me the wrong email address to use. So a week or so later I called again. Again, I spoke with a person that made me feel like they didn't really need my business. Big mistake not listening to that. The second time I called I received the correct email address. At that time I made contact with Janet. I spoke with her on the phone...she was warm, good sales person, she talked to me about what I wanted and told me what she thought I should spend and what I should get. We exchanged several emails and ideas and I sent her her at least 4 photos of arrangements that I loved. I wanted warm jewel tones for the party and I shared those thoughts and emails with her. We wanted some greenery added into the flowers. I went to Hobby Lobby and purchased ornaments and ribbon to be added to the arrangements for a holiday feel. I did this at the recommendation of Janet because she said if they did that I would be charged a great deal more. So long story short - I paid $43 each for 24 arrangements totaling $1032. This isn't a bad price at all and we would have gladly spent more. With the gorgeous $19 specials they have every week I felt like $40 should get a beautiful arrangement and that's what Janet said too - they could come up with something beautiful for that and she couldn't wait to see what they did. There are 2 photos attached. My favorite bouquet in the jewel tones vs. what Oberer's sent to me this weekend. I immediately called the store to complain when I received them. I was told they'd have a manager call me on Monday. No offer to try to fix the flowers for my party, nothing. I emailed them on Monday before Ian finally called me on Monday night. He apologized but made excuses about how he has bosses and cannot offer a refund on his own. What a huge disappointment and what a bunch of ugly arrangements. And look at the "bows" they made.
