Anybody on here that gives this palce a 1 star or even a 3 star or less, is a person that will never be happy with anyone; typical Orange County narcissists. Mellisa is so cool that she will work with anyone to make sure that they are happy. I just can't say enoough about her. She truly cares and wants to make you happy. I have had no issues with getting "orange" or being "spotty" I am a guy that just gets my face done and also buy her spary tan solution that lasts 4 months and works very well. She is so fair on the pricing and I don't pay very much at all for a face spray. She is so flexible, she always asks if I am happy with the last one and makes VERY clear what amount of spary she is going to use and how dark I will get. She is a great biz owner and I hope she is making some money dong this. I am from San Diego and there are few people up her in Newport that I meet and like. She would fit in well in San Diego cuz she is nice and not an ego-maniac like so many people in Newport or HB. I have NO compalints, 0, zero, nada, nothing bad to say about her and this place. If you don't like what she does, just tell her and she will fix it for you. My guess is that if you turn out "orange", then you probably had something on your face like lotion or something that made it that way. She is not trying to screw anyone over. She is refreshing. She is NOT a friend and I am not posting this cuz I know her personally. She is cute and not at all arrogant. I have yet to meet anyone else working there, but my guess is that she is a very good judge of character and probably surrounded by people that are also good people. If I go in and find someone other than her, then I wil be bummed that she is not here, but I am confident that if the girl working does something I do not like, she will fix it. This place is the best!! Went for the first time a few weeks ago and will never go anywhere else! I used to go to the spray tan booths (Mystic Tan or Versa) and would leave there smelling terrible for the next 6-8 hours until I showered! And I have white sheets and the Mystic/Versa would leave my sheets orange if I slept with the solution on....not to mention my husband was on the verge of sleeping on the couch the nights I would sleep with the spray tan solution on. He hated that smell!! So I went to Obey the Spray one evening, preparing to sleep in the solution and shower in the morning. I was so surprised when, for one, the solution didnt smell so my husband was a happy camper that night...and two, my sheets didnt turn orange!! This is the best, and only solution for spray tanning! I had skin cancer removed off my face last year, so sun tanning is definitely out of the question for me and obey the spray has made it possible for me to look like I have a natural tan anytime I want... I found out about this place through Google I believe. It's amazing how expensive spray tanning has become, especially in the Costa Mesa/Newport area so it was a relief to meet Marissa and get to know her. She's super cool and super sweet and does a really really good job at what she does. My tans always come out very even and clean. Doesnt leave a mess, doesnt stink. I've only been here once but the spray turned out so good! I usually go to Palm Beach Tan and use the mystic machine but I'll never go back. the lady who does the sprays is so nice and makes you feel comfortable and the tan comes out amazing! Well I love Obey Spray Tan and never have heard of anything negative about the services or the results and Marissa is great! My friend recommended me to her and loved it so much I got the membership since it is such a great deal! Never EVER do I look orange nor does the spray come off in the shower. As long as you follow the instructions, the tan lasts all week and I get nothing but compliments! Anyone that has anything negative to say obviously didn't follow instructions correctly! I was leaving for a tropical vacation so wanted some color and have never had a spray tan before. I definitely didn't want the orange look nor my face as dark as my body. The girl was very nice and accommodating however when I got home and looked in the mirror I had a lot of hyperpigmentation that wasn't there before. There was a huge dark spot on my chest which I hated of course and all over my arms. I had a little before but this spray tan made the existing appear far worse and created new spots that were never there before and are gone now that it wore off. In hind site I would have preferred to be white. If this is normal I would have appreciated knowing prior to having it done. read more

I first learned about Obey The Spay Tan through livingsocial. I bought the deal and thought I would try it out. After using my livingsocial deal, I have continued to come back again and again for more spray tans. Marissa is absolutely amazing and the sweetest person out there. She is very accommodating with busy schedules and always tried to fit everybody in. I always leave with a smile on my face and absolutely loving my tan! The tan is completely customizable so you get the perfect color every time. I have been to many many other spray tanning places and this is by the my favorite. The prices are so low that you would think the product is cheap, but this product doesn't fade quickly or turn orange EVER. I've paid even tripple the amount for a spray tan before that does not look good at all. Why pay more for a worse result? This place is the Best!!! I heard about it from a coworker and I'm so glad I did! I wanted a spray tan because I was going to vegas and I really wanted too look tan by the pool and going out at night! I brought my friend that I was going to vegas with along so we each got our tans for $20 instead of the usual $25 that is already a great deal. Marissa was awesome! She made me and my friend feel totally comfortable since we decided to tan in our birthday suits haha. I told her we were headed to Vegas so she customized our tan. We were both pretty pale so she told us she would do her natural color but add some more brown in it so that it would last longer in Vegas. Marissa only guaranteed that the tan would last for 3 days but we used baby oil during our showers and my tan was intact for a full 7 days or so. The baby oil repels the water from washing away the tan. Overall, I would definitely go back and I actually can't wait!!! If you are even considering it, you should definitely go!! I am a loyal client here at Obey The Spray Tanning, I recently just bought a LivingSocial Deal for my husband to use to try them out, who doesn't want to save some money right? I got a call from Karissa, Marissa's assistant and she just reminded me it was to bring NEW CLIENTS and it said it in the fine print, and just requested an extra $10 for solution purposes and I was so thankful they even granted the deal since I didn't even take time to read the fine print. It also had an option to buy as a gift for someone that I didn't realize either. He went in and loved it, who would complain about a $10 extra charge for 2 spray tans for $25? Thats such a steal, I read other reviews on here and Marissa and Karissa are just doing there job and it wasn't a problem at all that she called us and addressed that. You cant "shop around" and find a better solution, even application or price in Orange County that compares to this shop. I recommend everyone who reads the reviews to ignore the "bad reviews" because they obviously didn't take care of it or have just had a bad day because this place is amazing. read more
