This place is... interesting. The dining and bar areas were well decorated and clean. I really liked the visibility of the "in-house" brewery. Lots and lots of beers available here! While the food items on the menu are limited, the sandwich I ordered was pretty good. Here's what kicks me in the gonads... If you want some water, you must get up from your seat and serve yourself from the edge of the bar. Different - definitely. Should I be charged as if I'm downtown Austin on top of that... absolutely NOT!!! If you want a different kind of dining experience, this is the place to try. I will more than likely never return. However, I may order an Uber Eats/Favor from here. That sandwich was damn good!

Obsidian fills in the old spot of a different brewery/pizzeria that I had visited before and found to be ok but improving. I was wondering if Obsidian would be more of the same. While the general look of the place hasn't changed much there's definitely a vibe change that was noticeable. The lighting is much more muted but also the bar has more spirits and if you weren't a beer drinker you could have a well made cocktail if you wanted. Juve, our bartender definitely was more than a tap puller even though all we had was beer. I ended up with their birria pizza and though it was the most expensive pie on the menu it was definitely a tasty and filling one. The beef was juicy and the rest of garlic oil, crema and jalapenos were definitely a good mix along with the birria. I was going to limit my beers to 3 but they were good-better than their geographic predecessor.

The food here is so good. I love this place because it's got plenty of seating and something for non-beer drinkers! The folks working here are friendly and it's just a low key spot with amazing food

We love this place when we're able to go. Stopped in on the last day of Barks for Beers. They have a wide selection of beer, cocktails, wood-fired pizzas and other non pizza foods. I'm not a big beer drinker, so I got their strawberry French 75 and my mom a mocktail- blueberry fields. My sister and bf enjoyed their beers. We also ordered a La Birria pizza (12"), lemon pepper wings, serrano jack brat and pretzel. All the food was delicious! We couldn't believe how good the Birria pizza was. Whoever lives in this neighborhood got it lucky!

Beer was good, I would visit if I were in the area again. It seems like a popular work spot, as we saw several people inside with their laptops, on calls, and the like. WiFi available. They're located in a shopping center so there is plenty of parking and there are plenty of food options nearby.

First time here. Went for lunch, walked in with no greeting, acknowledgement or direction from anyone so we just sat down but noticed you had to go to the bar to place your order. Got beer there and sat to wait for our Meat Eater without jalapeños. Food was delivered within 10-15 minutes. This 12" pizza was $17.99. Thought it was not bad, we love thin crust however the bottom crust was soggy, we are accustomed to crispier/drier crust which ruined the experience. This location is very convenient however I'm not sure we will be back for pizza. This venue is a nice size for bar and patio seating.

Obsidian has become a favorite of ours. The service is always friendly no matter how busy they are. If you have any questions about flavors the team has tons of knowledge. A true gem is the wood fire pizzas. The Birria pizza is my partners favorite. It's drizzled with a green sauce and a side of consume to dip your slice in. I enjoy the Meat Heater drizzled with hot honey. The pizzas are big enough to share especially if you want a side arugula salad or an appetizer. The music is always on point and a great spot to meet a friend or enjoy with your partner. I will say families frequent this place as well quit a bit. If we are ever craving a pizza & beer and just a vibe Obsidian is the spot we go to. Highly recommend trying out and I look forward to seeing them continue to grow.

A MUST try!! Ambiance: This place is super cozy. Comfortable bar seats, dining and bar area are well lit, but with a smooth lighting easy on the eyes. They nailed the ambiance. Service: Mason is the bomb, he is extremely well versed with all liquors and beers. He makes a MEAN mezcal old fashioned. You Must try !! Even the owner Safir stopped by and introduced himself. This place could write the industry standard on service. You won't regret stopping here. I unfortunately had lunch prior to stopping here. Next time, I'll try the food and update.

DON'T sleep on this place!! The pizza is great, but the beer is even better. I tried A Boy Can Dream, which is a strawberry Hefeweizen, and it has topped my lift of all time favorite beers now! If you came to this location before it was Obsidian; come again. They will win you over. Exceptional customer service. Even when they are slammed busy, they still make you feel like you're a valued customer. I will be back, again, and again for sure!! Great place to hang out, just know that there will probably be a child or two running around having a good time too!

My fiance and I were excited when we heard a few of the brewers from Red Horn were branching out and starting their own place. They bought the previous Lone Pint location, although I never went so I can't tell you what changed. What I can say is I like the space. They have 10 picnic tables or so outside and they're mostly covered and the outside area is dog friendly. Inside, they have the usual bar space along with more tables and a few couches too. We got our drinks and posted up on a couch to watch the Chiefs game on my phone (they don't have tvs). She got a strawberry French 75 and I got one of their hazy ipas recommended by the brewer working the bar (who broke the tape measure). Both were very good. My IPA was tropical and sort of reminded me of pinthouse (that's a good thing). Next, she got the strawberry hefeweizen which we both thought was pretty good and I got their other hazy (also called something about a tape measure). It was a totally different beer than the first but I also enjoyed it. We didn't get the pizza as we'd just eaten but a few friends have had good things to say.

As I was leaving the We Are Blood donor center on Bell Boulevard, I thought "why not check out a brewery I don't visit very often for lunch?" (kids, I am a professional. Don't try this at home--a brewery visit right after dropping a pint is probably not a donor center recommendation for most normal folks). A search on "breweries near me" revealed that this spot was 1 mile away. Winner. Plenty of parking front and side, the taproom was pleasant inside and out. I took a seat at a nearly full bar next to a good group of World Cup (ESP/AUT) watchers. Two big TVs over the bar, in a large taproom/dining area with 5 more, shared with the sort of "built-in food truck" called "600 Degrees Pizza" except it's a proper pizza shop, no wheels. There's a shaded outdoor patio with a bar window, and 5 more TVs, and a covered tent area beyond that, with a play area for the kiddos. Had a Ray Ray Hazy IPA, crisp and cold and delicious NE-style IPA. I walked over to the pizza counter and ordered a slice, considered the slice/salad lunch special but opted for the HH slice special, pepperoni at $5. Minutes later a guy delivered the single largest pizza slice I have ever tried to hold in my hand to my seat at the bar. Apparently they do a 6-cut TWENTY FOUR INCH PIE for slices, so my slice was 75.4 square inches of tasty gooey goodness. Unwieldy, and took some tactical consumption logistics calculation, but I finished every bit--a meal for me, and I was glad I skipped the salad. Very good pie, and VERY filling. One more small beer, from Jester King, as I watched Spain knock Austria out 3-0. Friendly folks on both sides of the bar, good beer, and good food in a nice taproom. I'll be back.

With this brewery I got a beer type I don't always get and when I do it's a nice change of pace and that is a Brown Ale. I took the opportunity to get one here and the name of this brewery's version is a fun one... it's called Velvet Nunchuks. The flavor profile in this one is good... in it you can have fun with detecting caramel, roastiness and maltiness. The beer is smooth and has nice mouthful due to that. Whitestone was a good stop even if it is a bit of a ways from downtown Austin.
