I brought a couple of digital bodies in to the shop to ask why my sensor cleaning technique was resulting in streaks on my sensors. It turns out that the fluid I bought on Amazon was the cause; I was shown the difference with the fluid that the shop uses (Eclipse brand) and it's very obvious! I should have believed the reviews. The staff was rude and uninterested on the phone. They cancelled my order for wanting to ship to my work address and then told me they lost money on that cancelation. They gave me false information on the version light meter they sent me. Now it's just another piece of gear sitting in a box. The "freshly CLA'd" camera required another CLA from a reputable repair person due to light leaks and and a rangefinder that wasn't properly focusing. I would never give them a cent again. Be aware that this establisment knowingly sells stolen equipment. I contacted the owner of the establishment to let him know that he listed camera equipment which was recently stolen from me. The LAPD police report and all doccumentation of owernship was provided along with contact information for the detective of record. Not gonna lie it feels like a scam the more I think about. Went in for a quote to clean my dslr's sensors because I'm seeing some black spots in my photos. The guy at the counter just took my camera without saying anything, went out to take some photos and came back confirming that I need to clean the sensor. So I asked how much it will cost be and how long, the guy told me it'll be $50 and ready in 2 days. Come on, cleaning the sensor takes 2 days and $50? Went on Amazon, bought the cleaning kit and watched a YouTube video on how to do it. Done. $8 for the whole kit and took 2 mins to do so. read more

Bought a Sigma fp from them 2 months ago. When editing I noticed a dead pixel. They must not have noticed it during their inspection when they bought the camera. The camera has a setting that covers dead pixels so it was something I could live with. I had used it for one camera test and decided that it wasn't for me, unrelated to the pixel. They have a 14 day return period so I knew they would have to buy it back. I took it in and explained I had used it once and just wasn't the right fit and that I wanted to sell it back with 5 batteries, only one of which was used on that test shoot. They gave me a quote of just over $600 on a camera they sold to me a couple months prior for $1200. I understand they need to make a profit but given the circumstances I was hoping they would atleast do $800. Apart from that I was passed around between 3 employees explaining the situation 4 times, just to end up with the first person I talked to, who was noticeably quite sick at the time and told me so. Dropped my camera with the lens exposed. Brought it here to get it fixed. It was fast and efficient! I had the camera strap buckles attached to my camera when I sent it in to get fixed and when I got my camera back, the buckles were missing. It is so comforting to know that really good quality service still exists. I walked in with my Canon to see if they could diagnose why the flash isn't functioning. In the first couple of minutes it seemed as though they might have to send it out but one of the gentlemen that works there asked if I could wait until he could finish with the customer he was with and that he would like to try to see if there was anything he could do. I'm so glad I waited. He was able to pop the flash open and discovered that a sticky substance may have spilled on it leaving the flash glued to its closed position. It took him close to 45 minutes (maybe more) to clean it meticulously and I was able to take my camera home with me. Thank you! read more

The person who owns or runs this place is incredibly disrespectful to his customers. I've been to this store twice, happy to see that there was a photography business in my neighborhood. I went in to inquire about selling my camera as I was looking to upgrade and was basically treated like a vagabond walking into a pawnshop looking to sell some stolen merchandise or something. This is unfortunate since I own a videography business, and was excited to use this place as one of my go to spots for accessories as I like to shop in person rather than online when I can. I don't know if it was the way that I was dressed (I was on my way to the gym both times I've walked in) or my ethnicity, but he made me feel low class and I'll never be back. My latest repair was picked up today and am very impressed. My Hasselblad 503cx had a sticky trigger and they made it good as new. New to Orange County and looking to replace an old Olympus camera, I found O.C. Camera. Greeted by Joey who listened to our needs. Joey has been in the camera business, both behind the camera as a photographer and as a salesman for 30 years. He is very knowledgeable. He recommended a used Canon ESO T5 that was for sale. It seemed to be a good fit for us, as it fulfilled the needs that we had so we bought it, along with a telesopic lens, filters, & bag. Now, we are looking forward to attending classes that O.C. I am a young adult who has never had the ability to get into photography and cameras. My father gifted me an old camera he had and I struggled to get it in working condition. After failed attempts on my own I went into oc cameras to hopefully ask for some assistance. I entered the store and got no greeting from either the older gentlemen behind the front desk or the two men in the back of the store. I approached the gentleman behind the desk who barely even looked up from his papers and when I asked him he gave me a look of disappointment or deep regret that he had to help me or even talk to me. Recently, I traded in an old digital camera for a new one. The folks at OC Camera were great to deal with. Because I had previously shopped there, I am on their waiting list. This, I knew when the Camera Representative for my intended camera brand was scheduled to visit their store. At the time of the visit, the camera I was interested in was unavailable from the big-online dealers. After I handled the camera I told the store owner I wanted to buy one. He took my name & number & told me that he would notify me when one arrived. He didn't require even a deposit. About 8 weeks later someone from the store telephoned me to say the camera had arrived. I told the salesperson I would be in the store to next day. The purchase was handled smoothly. When I saw the improvements in this new camera, I decided it was pointless to keep my old camera as a back-up. I returned the next day to sell my old camera. I was happy with both the purchase price & the price I received for my old camera. My first visit to this store today. My daughter's camera wasn't powering on and, I assumed, it was in need of repair. Also, I have a 35mm camera that had been sitting in a closet for 20+ years. The guys at this shop are awesome!! I recently moved to the OC from LA. I loved going to a camera shop when I needed something or wanted to chat specs etc. to better educate myself, but quickly stopped going because the shops in LA were so rude. When I moved, I searched for local camera shops and thought to give this one a try and enjoy the trips I've taken there so far.
