I like that there's so much shady greenery and that the park is fenced in with an affordable admission fee. In fact, that's how an Instagram influencer convinced me to check this place out (last time I listen to that person, ay yi yi). But it's messed up how the ticket seller took our money with a big smile and told us to have a good time -- not letting us know that the splash pad was broken and sending us to play in a neglected mess. When I asked about the splash pad, I was told to contact Garden Grove city hall for updates. Not sure what's going on with this place. Maybe the employees could at least pick up trash and wipe away bird poop.

When they first started popping up on Tik Tok I was excited to see a local place getting so much attention. I went in today to pick up crickets for my son's lizard and was watching the turtles and fish in the pool when I noticed a turtle that looked like he was standing at the bottom of the pool and was almost completely white. First thought was oh maybe it's an albino turtle, then I got closer and watched the fish and other turtles bump him and he remained completely still. I pointed him out to my husband who then went to tell a worker behind the register and his response was "ugh those turtles are so gross I hate them" Okay odd thing to say but whatever I hate spiders so who am I to judge. He tells another worker who then grabs a bucket and goes over and removed the dead turtle. A few minutes later I'm standing next to the pool and another woman who was there said to a worker that there was a catfish fighting with one of the turtles. I looked into the pool and the very large catfish had a small/medium sized turtled in its mouth and was violently thrashing it around. I gasped and looked to the 3 workers behind the register and the woman with braids who was there (whom I've seen from the tiktok videos) told the other worker "Go do something about that". That worker then came over to the pool and attempted multiple times to get the turtle from the catfish while saying " oh this guy's a goner" I made eye contact with the woman worker who seemed to realize the urgency and said " Just get in there" He finally got the turtle and when he pulled him out, his neck was stretched out abnormally far and he was in fact " a goner". Both male workers had made mutple comments about the catfish attacking the turtles implying that this wasn't the first time it had happened which made me question why you would keep them in the same pool when it continues to be an issue. I immediately left after that. I understand "circle of life" and all of that but in the wild where circle of life would apply, those turtles would not be trapped in a both with those Catfish and would have at least a chance at getting away. My other concern is this place claims to be a rescue and is all over social media claiming to care for these animals but this is how they treat them in front of people. It makes you wonder how they treat them when no one is looking.

They were ok for most of the party, then without any communication just kicked the kids out of the play area to spend 20 minutes cutting cake. There was no warning like hey party's winding down, just cutting cake. Once they served the cake they told us we had to leave. Play wise, it was the same My Gym set up. Their circle time activity wasn't exciting to the kids because they just wanted to play. The bubbles were ok but in my mind, they did it too early instead of a big finish which would've felt a lot better as a transition that the party was over. They did offer socks with grips, though, so that was a plus. I don't think I'd return to this location when the staff at the Newport location was so much nicer.
