I had a HORRIBLE experience with OC Tree Care! Carlos came out and gave me an estimate. I gave the estimate to my father and they schedule it for a week later. Well that Friday came around, he was supposed to be there at 1:30 pm. I gave an hour grace period, maybe he got caught up at a different job or something. 2:30 came around, no one has shown up or even gave a call. Between 2:30pm to 3:00 pm I called 4 times, each time with no answer and going to voicemail. I left a voicemail at 3 pm regarding the appointment and for them to give me a call back, just in case I was in the wrong. I called on 4/10 .. I have YET to get a call back!!!!! Its a sad shame because they received decent reviews on here. I was not expecting this horrible experience. read more

We recently had 2 trees removed and the stumps grinded down. They did a good job and the price was fair. The reason I am rating 3 stars is because when they were hauling the mess away and grinding down the stump they smashed our landscaping in the front yard. They had plenty of room to bring equipment through but trampled about 10 plants. I didn't realize until after they left. I called to complain and see what they could do since now I have to pay to replace those plants and no one returned my call. Carelessness and bad customer service. read more

I tend to leave 5 star reviews all the time, but that's because when I decide to write a review it's because a company has REALLY done a good job. OC Tree is one of them. I have used them twice now (first time way before I started yelping) and both times I was so happy! Carlos is wonderful to work with. You call, and he is at your door, sometimes same day, usually the next. Very neat, soft spoken, and professional, First job they did (and he brings in a large crew, who work fast and efficiently) was replacing the horror I once called my "lawn" with beautiful green marathon sod. I cannot tell you how many times I tried growing something back there, but they gave it a fresh start, digging out the old, replacing old dirt with new, and laying the new sod. That was a year and a half ago. I must say, I have been much better at taking care of this lawn, (I no longer have a black thumb) but I credit it with the great start he gave it. To this day, it is green and wonderful. Second job I hired them for was tree trimming and cleaning. I have lots of ficus trees, a couple of others too, very tall, and very unkempt for years! (I promise to keep up from now on) Anyway, when they left, the trees were beautiful! They thinned them , but didn't take away the privacy they provide, cleaned them of all the spider webs, old leaves, twigs, dead animals (just kidding) They even trimmed them across the tops, and they are TALL. Then as an added bonus, they cleaned all the flower beds under all the trees. By the way, I did research and got estimates from other companies, even the second time. Don't know why I bothered the second time, but I did to satisfy myself, knowing I was getting the best deal and the best work. They definitely give the best prices for the work done, under bidding everyone. So, take my word for it, don't look any farther, Carlos and OC Tree Care will take care of you! read more

No one came by on those specified days and I had to call in to ask if he was coming by on Wednesday (something I feel like they should have done). Wow! They did exactly what they said they would do. I had three bids done in November to get an idea of cost. OC Tree Care came in with a bid that was not the lowest, it was in the middle. However, Carlos was professional and straight to the point. I felt confident that they were the right choice. I checked their licence and confirmed that they are legit. Last week I called back to ask if we could meet to review and confirm that the proposal was still good. Carlos said it was not necessary and the quote still stood. I called the office and scheduled the date. The team showed up on time and was ready to go. All friendly guys, all spoke english and all worked hard. If you don't like to hear guys laughing and joking while doing hard work then pass. The work scope was to cut down a 50 foot blue gum tree, a peach tree, stump grind both and to rototil the entire yard to remove surface roots. I was concerned about this part because there were large and extensive roots all around the large yard. No problem, they went deep and took their time. When they left the area was clean and ready to go. They even took away plant material that had piled up in a corner that was not part of the scope. Wow! Amazing work. I had two large queen palm trees (over 2 stories tall) and a med king palm I wanted removed. I got 3 quotes and OC Tree Care was in the mid range. I went with them rather than the cheaper quote because of Carlos. He ensured me of the companies license/bonding & how all of their employees were insured. Carlos also seemed more professional and explained how the trees would be removed ( the larger ones with a stump grinder) and the smaller palm would be dug up. I just felt cheaper does not always mean better. So for a couple of $100 dollars more I went with OC Tree & Im glad I did. They finished the job in 1 day and what really amazed me is the cleanliness. Carlos arrived on time to quote me a very fair price to cut branches from our neighbors backyard Yucca tree, which had grown into our phone wires, and to prune the ornamental fig tree in our front yard. When I asked about our avocado tree, he responded honestly, "Not yet." He and his crew promptly arrived as scheduled. They tackled the Yucca tree with precision and care so no branches fell in our neighbor's yard. I received a quote from 4 companies and OC Tree Care and one other company were pretty close. I went with OC Tree Care because they were the most prompt to come out and give me a quote and also to work with my schedule. They did an excellent job in cutting these trees down that were quite tall and large. They took great care to make sure that none of the limbs fell down and broke anything. 5 stars is an understatement. I had Carlos drive to my home in Laguna Niguel twice to quote and requote some extra work. Both times he was on time and friendly and fast! I had to postpone our work date due to getting HOA approval and it was no problem. When demo day finally came, three men came and removed two huge canary palms, trimmed 6 other varying sized palms and removed about 1,000 sq ft of tired landscape including many varieties and sizes of shrubs and bushes that had gotten out of hand. When the sprinklers went on the next day, we noticed a couple had broken. I called and a crew came same day to fix them, no issues or charge. I'll be hiring them for every trim in the future.
