I came by here to put $10 worth of gas in my car the other day. For some reason they charged me the $10 along with the extra $75 pending hold which has still not bounced back to my account yet.. Hello, I ran into Reed at your ocean beach, San Diego location. I'm 30 years old and have ID and he refused to sell chips, drinks and cigarettes. I've gotten gas many times and I'm a beach local and known in my community. He called me a liar and that I was 19, which is comical with his red stained hot Cheetos fingers. I have a valid ID that says my birthday and my face on it and I was born in 1991. He Gave me the wrong number to his manager. Locals complain about him being extremely rude and unprofessional. I took my business to the local 711 instead because he just wanted to be lazy. I told them what happened and the employee says this happens a lot, he's rude and refuses everyone. I don't think this is helpful for your business and sure is making the beach locals upset. I would give 0 stars if I could. Horrible. Go somewhere else unless you want a hassle. read more

I would give NEGATIVE STARS if I could. Les, the owner of the shop, was very unprofessional and overbearing. Although I felt uncomfortable I needed to have my car worked on immediately and was forced to stay even though he took ADVANTAGE of my lack of knowledge on cars. Les had the most DISRESPECTFUL attitude of anyone I have ever met. Not only did he OVERCHARGE me, but he REFERRED TO ME AS BITCH multiple times during our conversations. When asking if I needed a ride home (while he worked on my car) I politely declined, to which he responded, "Okay, but don't be a bitch and come bug me about it later." In reference to my gender and age he said, "why don't you go call your daddy and make sure that you want this done?" Lastly, if waiting for your car, be prepared to sit outside on the curb and be degraded by locals because there is no sitting room. If you're gassing up here, you're not in the know. You're most certainly not a local. In fact you have no idea where on earth you are because within eyeshot is another gas station whose prices are 30 cents cheaper. I felt that sinking feeling of "man I'm an idiot" when I pulled out of Shell and realized I'd been a fool. I decided to drive across country at last minute and through a reference from a friend stopped here to have the mechanics take a look at my car to make sure everything was in condition for the drive. I was greeted by Les and Steve. Steve took a look at my car immediately, filled it up with oil, checked all the fluids and tire pressure. They charged me $4 for the oil. I gave them all the cash in my wallet at the time $12 (I would have given more if I had it) for their prompt service and the thorough check I received (they made some recommendations on what I needed to do when I got to my destination). Just stop for some gas. Paid with a credit card and gave the guy my pump number. When the pump failed to work I went back into the establishment. At that point the cashier behind the counter said someone had stole my gas and there was nothing he could do about it! I asked to speak to a manager to which he replied the manager will be in a couple days and he was not going to pay for my gas! Man screw these guys, so I come in with my big 33 gal van and say, do you have a bathroom, the guy says no, I say ok, I'm gonna fill up and hit the bathroom across the street real quick ( it's 730 and when you gotta go you gotta go) and he starts yelling at me that I can't do that, then I go inside and tell him I'm a paying customer and he can't try and tow me ( in the five min it takes to go to the bathroom) and basically we start arguing that it's no big deal. Finally this man gives in and says "ok you can use the bathroom I just need to clean it so be careful you don't slip". So now I come to find out this guy straight lied to me cause they have a bathroom outside on the corner of the building. I know OB has hella homeless people always trying to use business bathrooms but this guys next level, I ended up spending 50$ here and not filling my tank just to try and satisfy this man so I could take a shit in the bathroom that IS FOR CUSTOMERS. read more

Do NOT buy gas here, completely overpriced! I only stopped because I have a shell card and didn't want to use my cash, was already fueling when I looked at the price, figured it would be about 10-15 cents higher than cheapo gas at most. One of the worst experiences I have ever had with a mechanic if I could give zero stars I would. Les worked on my car and charged me way too much. When I went to go pick it up he was very rude and very unprofessional. I didn't know any better to get a second opinion so I ended up paying the price he said. A couple months after him "fixing" the problem it broke again and I had to get it re fixed but this time I went to another person to get my car fixed it was a quarter of the price and I didn't have to deal with his disrespectful attitude. I have not had any other work done with the other person that works there but I would hope that he is better then Les. I am not one to write bad reviews, I usually give 5 stars but my experience here was one that I thought people should be aware of. read more

I had just put my spare on my car up the street and needed to add air to it (12 years of never having been used)...I stopped in to the Shell station and put my $1 into the air machine. I didn't trust the pressure gauge so I went and asked Stephen the mechanic if he had one I could borrow. He told me to bring it around and he'll take care of it. Not only did he get my tires filled correctly, but he made sure the lug nuts were on tight! Thank you Stephen!!! read more

The gas is pricey but it's one of most convent places to get has, cash or a snack when getting I or out of OB. Fast service , always clean.

Stephen is always helpful and friendly I travel a lot so I always stop here to get my tires and fluids checked before I go anywhere!

If you're driving down Sunset Cliffs then I'm sure you've driven by this Shell station. Kinda pricy ($3.19 for regular, $3.39 for premium) but you are paying for the Shell quality I guess. I stop here sometimes but usually I try to make it to another slightly less expensive station in the area to get gas. read more

We were recommended by a local to take our car there (which was having major A/C problems and were told we would get an honest opinion. I called les @ 8 in the morning, he spent 10 minutes with me on the phone and told me to come down. He willingly looked at our car for 15 minutes and was honest enough to assess our situation and refer us to someone who could get it done...that day. he made the call for an apt and even printed out the directions to the other shop.
