I live in the city, and have a prescription that can be pretty hard to get filled sometimes. My doctor and I decided to send it here to see whether they could fill it on short notice, before a trip. Not only was the prescription filled the next morning, but also at a very fair price, and when I picked it up today it was even lower than expected (I get the feeling they may have proactively applied a coupon?). I unfortunately take a lot of medications and they are obviously important. It never fails to amaze me how CVS or one of the others have long lines and could care less about the "person" standing in front of them. When I go to MY pharmacy (Ocean Breeze) they make a note to remember my name! They ask how I'm feeling. Yeah it's a small thing but it's really not to me. When my prescriptions are due to be renewed my pharmacist Kim or one the other amazing people that work there get it done. If there's a problem with my insurance or Prescription they call and fix it. I live in Great Kills and it's probably 1/2 drive on a good day, and I have 5+ other pharmacies within walking distance but I'll never go anywhere else. If I'm having a bad day they will deliver my medications for free as well. I remember when I was young the pharmacist was a part of the neighborhood. Well! Ocean Breeze is my Neighborhood pharmacy and I'll never switch. I just sorry it took so long to write this review I hope it helps their business because they're great. read more

After finding out I had Diabetes my Dr put me on meds that changed my life. Almost every Pharmacy gave me the run around regarding filling my prescriptions. My Dr then referred me to Ocean Breeze Pharmacy and with the help of Kim was able to fill my meds every month without issue. She fought with my insurance company to get my injections covered. If I could give my experience with ocean breeze a zero star review I would. I normally use my local CVS or Walgreens for all my prescriptions however this Tuesday I saw my doctor and needed a medication that most big branch pharmacies aren't able to supply. My doctor told me they use Ocean Breeze or Delco to provide patients with this particular medication. I live in Grasmere, so Delco pharmacy is about a 30-45 minute drive for me at any point in time since it is across Staten Island, in Eltingville. So my doctor sent the prescription to ocean Breeze because it is 10 minutes, probably less, from where I live. I called ocean breeze once it was sent to ask them what time they were open until (because I am a nurse and I work 7a-7p but needed to pick up the medication that night to start it the next morning). The woman who picked up the phone was very nasty with just that simple question, stating 7pm and then basically hung up the phone on me. So I called back, because I had more questions, and asked how much the medication would cost and if it would be okay if my manager approved it, I left work early and arrived around 6pm to pick it up. The same woman, again with a nasty tone, looked up my prescription and said she couldn't make it for me until 10 am the next day and I should go somewhere else anyway because it was going to be expensive. I told her I couldn't just go anywhere else because only two pharmacies on SI make the medication I needed. And that I didn't care how much it costed, I needed the medication. Then I explained to her how I needed to start taking it the next morning, and that I cannot leave work at 10 am the next day to come get it at my leisure. She stated "I don't know what you'd like me to do I can't help you until tomorrow morning." This medication is a vital mediation for a health condition I am dealing with so telling me she's not sure what she could do to help me was a very rude, disappointing and inappropriate response. My doctor ended up calling the prescription to Delco, leaving me no choice but to drive for over an hour (I left work at 5pm instead of 7pm because my manager understood my dilemma) from Brooklyn to the other side of Staten Island. Delco was able to make my medication ready an hour after I called them and held it for me until I could arrive after work. If they were so willing and able to help me, the woman working in ocean breeze should have at least tried to do the same. She was so uninterested in helping me, and did not care at all for my concerns. I would NEVER recommend anyone use this pharmacy. The lack of compassion or care for a new customer was disgusting to me. And I will never ever give this place my business for as long as I live on Staten Island. read more

Somehow my prescriptions were sent to this Pharmacy instead of my usual. Called and ask them to release my scripts, gentleman on the phone said he did and hung up before I could continue. They never released my prescription and closed earlier than expected. Now I'm out of medication with no one to help. Horrible service. read more

Just want to give ocean breeze the credit they deserve I used to use cvs for convenience being so many but always had a problem even with meds I've been taking for years but always kept going till I couldn't deal with them anymore. So my doctor recommended ocean breeze pharmacy they are on the north side of island and m on the south side but I switched anyway and for the last couple of years it's been a pleasure dealing with them I hope they stay open for the rest of my years thank you so much guys you guys are great. THIS PLACE IS DISGUSTING AND COMPLETED FRAUD!!!! So i made an appointment for this place to get the j & j vaccine just incase this place by me didn't have it. I made my appointment on Sunday September 19 for today, September 24th. THEY BILLED MY INSURANCE ON MONDAY SEPTEMBER 20th. FIVE DAYS BEFORE I GOT THE VACCINE. I never stepped foot in the office. I tried to get the vaccine in a different pharmacy here in Brooklyn and told me I received a dose on September 20th. When they we're putting my insurance information thru. How do you bill insurance before someone steps foot into your office. When i called this place the man didn't know what to say and said "this is what we do!" What kind of business does this??? My husband has been going to Oceanbreeze for years. He gets 1 prescription from one doctor for all of this time. We pay cash for this medicine because the insurance company wanted my husband to get a weeks worth and go once a week and his job makes that impossible, so we pay cash to get around the head ache. When we first started getting the medication it was $80. And it stayed that way for a good long while. Then one day last year it went up to $100. I didn't make a big deal because I understand medicine goes up sometimes so I didn't say a word. THEN in March, at the beginning of the pandemic I waited outside for the girl to bring it to my car and it went up another $20. So now it's $120. I had no choice, I didn't say a word and paid it. Since March they have consistently every month tried to raise it another $100. 6 months ago they said it was $210. When I asked to speak to the pharmacist, they kid on the phone literally put the phone down for 30 seconds, picked it up and said "It's still $120." Then the next month the same exact thing. When I said something again they said it was now $150. And that's that. Still every month they tried to charge me $210. Only when I would protest it they would say it was $150. Then THIS month I called the next day after it was sent over to see when to pick it up. They said "ohhh....sorry. They supplier doesn't have it and they don't know when they'll get it." So I know that was their way of getting rid of us because I wouldn't let them take advantage of me. The week after hurricane Sandy they were able to get it! I never ever ever had a problem with that. But now because they want to charge what they want and they don't want to hear me they got rid of us. I should thank them tho because my doctor sent it to Walgreens and with the GoodRX coupon I got the SAME medicine for $18.00. So from $150 to $18.00 Don't go to this pharmacy. read more

The absolutely worst! Purchased an air nebulizer. My mother is 96 years old with asthma and uses it twice a day. It broke after a month and a half. Went back to Ocean Breeze to return it. Clerk (SB) tells me since I purchased it a month ago I would have to go through the manufacturer to get a replacement. I told SB it was for a 96 year old woman with asthma so he goes to (the pharmacist I guess) and comes back and tells me he understands but that's our store policy. Extremely rude staff. I called prior to going to pick something up. The person on the phone was annoyed by my call and told me they had what I needed and my insurance covers it. When I arrived employees were robotic with no personality. I waited at the drop off desk for no one to acknowledge my existence. Then I went to the pick up and the lady told me she'd be right over --- she never came over and forgot. Then I get told to go back to the pick up to start my order. And THEN after taking all my information they don't accept my insurance. Could've avoided all of it if the person who answered the phone has 1% of good customer service. read more

I have a handicapped daughter with many medical needs. Both nebulizer supplies and medicines are quite costly. Besides always being courteous, the pharmacists work hard to get us our needs in a timely fashion, offer helpful advice when needed and show a true concern for my daughters well being. Bottom line they have worked extremely hard to keep our monthly costs as low as possible at a time where costs just keep rising. Her needs are many and specialized. Perhaps it's their true compassion for people they serve in this community says it all.
