As stated in another review, pharmacy never picks up calls and if you are lucky enough to have them answer, they then hang up and you must start again. 9 times out of 10 the staff is rude at this store. Recently I picked up my scripts and asked if my others were ready, they said no. As soon as I arrived home, I was notified I could pick up the rest of my medicine. Prior went to Stop and Shop, they are nicer but the medicine with my plan was cheaper at Walgreens. Not sure if the savings are worth it read more

I go there for all my pharmacy needs and Gene has got to be one of the passive aggressive, disrespectful, and unprofessional pharmacist I've ever been around. He lacks no empathy and just very robotic. He's been in management for roughly 30 years but it's no excuse for the dismissive attitude. Month after month I go there for my maintenance medication for my mental health and chronic pain. If there's a conflict he does not go beyond that window to help and it's a shame because he is a role model for the others studying to be a pharmacist. Perhaps he needs to retire or do something else for a living, but your neighborhood family he is far from. read more

I waited over an hour for a Covid vaccine. Unacceptable. They are extremely disorganized. Don't even give updates. I want to however defend the pharmacist Gene. This poor guy is running around like a chicken without a head. He's expected to do his regular work PLUS shots. It's not realistic at all. Typical corporate bull trying to get blood out of a stone. If you want to find the rudest and most unprofessional pharmacist, this is the place to go. There is no respect for customers and no help. Pharmacists and other counter workers have no respect or care for customers. I came here to get a covid shot, at a scheduled time. They took my covid card and said to wait to be called. 30 minutes later I asked what is going on and the girl at the counter told me that someone "she" is getting ready for me and will call me in a minute. 20 more minutes later I asked another girl at the counter and she said that a pharmacist is a man, not "she" and he will do the shot for me when he gets a break from fulfilling prescriptions!! At this point, I said that I am leaving (after 50 minutes wait for the covid shot) and want my card back and the pharmacist didn't even come by to apologize or offer something, even though he was standing 2 steps away. To note, there was no one in front of me waiting for a shot. The pharmacist's name is Gene Vaynerchuck. This store is well known on Staten Island as the worst pharmacy on the island. Avoid, avoid avoid, go to CVS. read more

I live a few blocks away from this particular establishment, and I usually run around the neighborhood (for health, not like... from something). And I have this daydream of me running through my neighborhood, getting to Walgreens, buying a bottle of water from their fair but modest selection, paying with my Apple Watch (since they take Apple Pay), and going back to my run, bettering myself in both health and as a person. So far this hasn't happened. But it could! The only reason they got a star taken off was twofold: their selection is indeed, somewhat small; also, they're not open 24/7. Y'know, so in my daydream I can be running in the middle of the night too. Walgreen's does sometimes have good deals when they're running a sale. However, half the time the sale items featured on their weekly flyers are not available... I'm sure they had initially had a couple of whatever on the shelves, but it just feels like a ploy to get you into the store. That's not my main complaint however - the main issue is the pharmacy prices. This is the second time we've run into this. The first time, the prescription we took to Walgreen's was around $300.00. There was no way we could afford that. We took the same scrip to Target - and the cost was $30. (Yes, ONE TENTH OF THE PRICE.) I should have learned right then and there, but when we needed to pick up a very basic antibiotic, I assumed they couldn't be such a rip-off. I should've known when the pharmacist asked for my insurance card, and acted really surprised that I was going to buy something without one, that there was going to be an issue. Yep. They wanted $40. for the prescription. We went to the mom-and-pop pharmacy down the block from my house, and paid less than $20. Yes, the independent store cut the prices of the big chain In Half. Seriously... you have to admit something is wrong with our health care system when crap like this can be allowed to happen. Anyways, I won't be taking any more prescriptions to Walgreens. read more

The Pharmacy is fantastic and so are the people that work there. it's not an easy job, and yet I have never had an issue with the friendly, knowledgeable manager Chris, to the lovely ladies that run the orders. And CVS doesn't even have anyone to ring you up at the counter, so at least Walgreens there are actually cashiers to at least try. I really really dislike this pharmacy. The pharmacists are rude, obnoxious and have no clue about NY State law regarding pet medications. They insist that the LED meds must be taxed In NY which is not true and when I told them so they then changed their story and said it was corporate policy. One of my increased 56% in one year and I have the Walgreens insurance. Additionally the usual wait time for a script is 45 minutes. I think the key want you to shop while you wait except the prices are so high I don't buy muçh of anything else. read more

i was in staten island also known as the forgotten boro and i rather have a bird poop on my head then be in staten island but i am here and i will visit walgreens on hylan blvd to pick up some stuff before i arrive at my buds home and see his ugly baby for the first time . big parking lot with plenty of free spots, inside its big and organized with plenty of aisles with nicely stocked shelves. the pharmacy area seems to have more customers then then the rest of the store which means i will be in and out quickly. wow bounty towels are in stock and no limit and 24 pack of water is 2.99 and cereal is 1.99 per box and the italian brand ice cream is but one get one free and i better stop cause i gotta go to the bathroom. no line to wait on and got my walgreens card for discounts and add some more points . spent 26 bucks and got a printed coupon for 20 percent off my next purchase. i take back what i said about staten island it's not that bad for a forgotten borough. read more

I have a physical disability,and usually go shopping with a friend,but today I went alone. I asked the cashier,Laura,if someone could help me.. Laura asked Nina to help and did she ever. She took my list, went and got each item asking if it was OK.. Of course I remembered other things I needed and she retrieved those as well. Nina also carried my bags to the car.. Walgreens Pharmacy at 1759 Hylan Blvd is horrible - it's the worst pharmacy on Staten Island!! My husband went back THREE TIMES IN ONE DAY to pick up my prescription and they still DID NOT have it in stock. They kept telling him to come back on that day to pick it up and they never had it in stock nor were they ever going to get it in stock on that day!! They told him to come back in 2 days to pick up the prescription!! The terrible mannered Head Pharmacist seemed like she couldn't care less. What a disgusting attitude! Not helpful at all !! I wish I didn't have to go to this pharmacy but I have no choice right now due to insurance issues with my prescription. P.S. also, you ALWAYS have to wait on line at this pharmacy counter. They just don't care about the customers. Shame on you Walgreens Pharmacy - you should be ashamed of how you serve good customers!!
