Their emails only had a link to Allied Digestive Health patient portal. My info was all there. Called Atlantic Coast Gastro back to get this cleared up. Got voicemail. Called 4 times over the next few hours, left 4 messages (dialed a few different phone #s). Asked for a call back since ASAP they're threatening to cancel my proceedure. NO CALL BACK. Left work 1 1/2 hrs early to get to the Jackson office before they close at 4. Got there at 3:30 - office is closed (Hours of operation not updated online). Drove to the Brick office and filled out a form with everything already on the patient portal. I was literally shaking with anger, I'd been anxiously trying to get this cleared up for HOURS. Maybe whoever called me from Atlantic Coast Gastro didn't know how to access Allied Digestive patient portal? First day on the job? God knows. The staff and providers are not proactive; I have to follow up through the portal just to be sent for routine bloodwork, and ongoing monitoring isn't done unless I reach out myself, even though I'm on a biologic that requires regular checks every few months. I've been a patient here for over 20 years, but after my recent experience with a stool sample, I'm seriously considering switching providers. I completed a home stool test that was picked up by FedEx and sent to Allied Digestive Health's lab. After waiting nearly two weeks, and making multiple calls and portal messages, I was finally told today that the sample couldn't be processed, which seems like it was lost. No one has acknowledged the time this has cost me or the fact that I'm still not feeling well. Based on this experience, I would strongly recommend looking into a more reliable and responsive gastroenterology practice.

During the appointment, the doctor repeatedly pressed me to come up with a medical issue, despite my insistence that I was there only for a standard check-up. I mentioned that I hadn't been sleeping well due to a recent family loss, and this was used to apply a diagnosis code for a "sleep disorder," which then justified the copay. This felt like a deliberate attempt to extract money from me for a preventative visit. After my bloodwork, I was told I had to come in person to review the results, which I have never had to do before for normal labs. I was charged yet another copay just to be told by the doctor that all my results were "normal" and that I could come back in a year. Fast forward to today, while reviewing my health records, I discovered that my lab results were, in fact, not normal. There were multiple concerning results that should have been brought to my attention and discussed during that in-person visit. This is not only incredibly misleading but a clear case of negligence. I would strongly advise against using this practice for any services.
