My wife and I both scheduled appointments with Dr. Yalamanchi and we are so glad we did. The…read morereviews in the past are regarding wait time and contacting the office via phone, which was a problem in the past when the office was having a difficult time scheduling and manning the phones. However, that is no longer happening. You can now schedule appointments online and the phone wait time is not bad at all. The schedulers are pleasant and very friendly. Yes, it takes awhile to get to see the doctor, but they will also make an exception if you can't wait, or if a test result is deemed important to consult with the doctor. They also have practitioner nurses who can care for lesser problems, prescribe meds, and order tests. Overall, I'm certain that your experience with Atlantic Coast Gastro will be pleasant, thorough and caring.

The staff and providers are not proactive; I have to follow up through the portal just to be sent for routine bloodwork, and ongoing monitoring isn't done unless I reach out myself, even though I'm on a biologic that requires regular checks every few months. I've been a patient here for over 20 years, but after my recent experience with a stool sample, I'm seriously considering switching providers. I completed a home stool test that was picked up by FedEx and sent to Allied Digestive Health's lab. After waiting nearly two weeks, and making multiple calls and portal messages, I was finally told today that the sample couldn't be processed, which seems like it was lost. No one has acknowledged the time this has cost me or the fact that I'm still not feeling well. Based on this experience, I would strongly recommend looking into a more reliable and responsive gastroenterology practice.

This is a preventative service that should not incur a copay, however I was told I needed to pay one. During the appointment, the doctor repeatedly pressed me to come up with a medical issue, despite my insistence that I was there only for a standard check-up. I mentioned that I hadn't been sleeping well due to a recent family loss, and this was used to apply a diagnosis code for a "sleep disorder," which then justified the copay. This felt like a deliberate attempt to extract money from me for a preventative visit. After my bloodwork, I was told I had to come in person to review the results, which I have never had to do before for normal labs. I was charged yet another copay just to be told by the doctor that all my results were "normal" and that I could come back in a year. Fast forward to today, while reviewing my health records, I discovered that my lab results were, in fact, not normal. There were multiple concerning results that should have been brought to my attention and discussed during that in-person visit. This is not only incredibly misleading but a clear case of negligence. I would strongly advise against using this practice for any services. Their billing practices seem questionable at best, and their failure to communicate critical health information is a serious breach of patient trust. I will never return here.
