Bought a brand new 55k truck in December at this dealership for my wife. Took in my 70k suburban in for a battery change and they told me battery was fine. I told them keep it overnight and recheck in morning, so they did and then realized I was correct and they needed to change battery out. However, they somehow damaged my bumper doing a battery change!!! This is a basic procedure! I had just washed my truck prior to bringing it in so positive this was not there! They are now fighting me on fixing their damage to my suburban! This dealership is shiesty to say the least!!! I believe I was cheated and deliberately intimidated Tuesday, January 29, 2019vat the Ocean Crest Chevy Buick GMC Cadillac dealership in advance of presenting me with a fraudulent bill.  I brought the car in for a scheduled appointment at 3 PM to determine why my high beams didn't work and signed an agreement for it.  My engine warning light came on steady on the drive there.  It was $115 minimum, and after I checked the oil and reattached the fuel cap, I reluctantly asked that the mechanic determine why the check engine light was illuminated steadily.  It took thirty minutes to take the car to the service bay.  The car was brought back fifteen minutes before closing, but someone had obviously spent time washing it.  So it had been away from me for a total of one hour and fifteen minutes.  I was given no status updates during that entire period.   Right after it was first taken away, I walked around to but not into the service bay to inquire if the light was still on when it was driven in.  Afterward, I walked around the entire building, looked at a few cars on the lot, stretched and then sat down reading Motor Trend magazine in the customer lounge.  I looked up when someone called my name.  It was the Warrenton police.  I spoke to one officer and, as always happens, one stood just behind my shoulder.  They were there because staff summoned them believing I was intoxicated.  I immediately asked for a breathalyzer test, and being refused that, a field sobriety test.  No, I hadn't been drinking, and I told them so.  They were both satisfied that I didn't smell like alcohol, wouldn't disclose which employee called them and departed. Warrenton Police Incident Report #2019-0686 Officer Mossman "Possible intoxicated male.  Dealership employee concerned about him driving safely.  Vehicle Silver 2007 Saturn Ion.  All parties contacted.  Subject not impaired"   I went upstairs to talk to the owner of the dealership and waited some time for him to come out of his meeting with the general manager and others.  About this time my car was brought around washed, but the driver told me nothing about its condition.  I told the owner everything.  I had been there nearly two hours, hadn't caused a scene and was reading quietly when I was confronted.  I told him I was definitely appalled and was worried about what the bill would be.   We went down to the service department together.  The bill was $220, the technician servicing the vehicle wasn't there, but we got some assistance from the chief technician who viewed the bill.  Supposedly, additional diagnostic tests are required, including a compression test and possibly a fuel injector test.  Parts would be additional.  The owner provided a token discount of $30 dollars.  Since the police had already been summoned once, I was concerned that if I did not pay the bill, then the car would not be released to me and I would have been unable to get home.  When I drove off, I noticed for the first time that the high beams hadn't been fixed either.  I immediately went back to the dealership, but the owner had departed.  I wrote him a note asking him to call me to discuss the bill further the next day.  He failed to do so. I originally brought this vehicle there to lubricate a squeaky clutch and brake pedals right after I bought the car in November.  After agreeing to a half hour charge of $55, the chief technician informed me that they couldn't be lubricated.  The clutch pedal would be expensive to replace, but there was no brake pedal replacement.  I reluctantly paid the bill wondering why it would take him a half hour to make the determination that lubrication couldn't be successfully applied.  Sound familiar?  In retrospect, it was the same gouging, and I'd like to dispute that charge also.   I'm not convinced this dealership is trustworthy.  It charged me for a full two hours though the car was only in the service bay for not even one hour and fifteen minutes.  I brought it there to determine why the high beams weren't working, and that was not accomplished.  If he needed "more time," then why didn't he take it?  If the technician had relayed that to me, then I might have insisted he keep at it until it was fixed.  Instead, he decided to switch jobs without notifying me and obtaining my consent.  I have no diagnostic print out evidencing the alleged "misfire on cylinder 4."  How do I know he did anything other than pad my bill? I decided not to return the car to any dealership whose actions were deliberately against my interests.  The secretary of the Warrenton Police Department stated that, if the officers had determined that I was intoxicated, the I would have been arrested.  As it stands, there's no telling how high the next bill might be and whether this dealership wants to fix anything at all.  Trust me when I say I have never had a problem with a car's servicing like this before. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere. read more

Tried to maintain confidence as I like to support local businesses. However.... last experience was purchasing a new key fob and having them reprogram while I wai. What should have been a relatively quick process took 3 hours as the "technician" drained the car battery and had to recharge it. Today I brought in a GMAC factory windscreen to be installed. Was told to expect an hour. As I sit here at 2 1/2 hours I'm told it's harder than they thought and may be another 1/2 hour or more. Two brackets and a wiring connection is involved. Very disappointing service and causes me to question competency. Day 5 of the car in the shop waiting on a battery. Not being kept apprised which makes me concerned about what is really going on. So I use to live going here to get work done. Now not so much. First issue...my stick shift broke so we ordered a new one... they said they would call. They never did. I tried and couldn't get through. When I finally did they said the delivery service had lost it and they had to order a new one and they would call me in a few days work a update and guess what... they never did so I had to play phone tag again call over and over till I finally got someone. Well they finally got me in. Now fast forward to three weeks ago when I go in after going to les schwab and I tell them the part I need....we get it ordered I pay and they say they will call...three weeks later I don't hear from them...ummm what the heck!!! I called yesturday and asked what was going on the lady tried saying that they had tried calling and couldn't leave a msg...BS....I have had other people call and leave msgs no problem.. I'm livid at this point. I'm now going in today to pick up the part and getting it put in by someone else because I'm done with chevy. I would not recommend anybody to go to this place. I stopped by to take a picture of a truck and they asked me if I wanted to take a test drive so I did. They asked me if I would be interested in it. I said, yes, if the numbers are right. So to make a long story short. We agreed upon a price and with the money I gave them and traded in a diesel truck. I figured it was affordable. They said I could go home and take the stuff. I wanted out of my truck and by the time I got home. They're were already calling me to get back down there. It was the end of the day everybody wanted to go home, so basically they had us go to the finance office, not letting us read anything, just initial here and sign here.. We left and by the time I looked at the paperwork. All the numbers are completely wrong. All the money I put down including my truck. They basically added it on to the price. So I went back down there furious and told them. I can't afford this truck. I want my truck back. They said basically it's not their problem I signed the paperwork now it's my truck. And the crazy part is I didn't even have a job. So because of them, I'm out about $20000. I lost my truck I lost the money I put down and I'm gonna hafto sell this truck for what I owe on it. Had a fascinating experience with their price gouging service department recently. (Ok, technically it was my brother...but since they called me first I guess I get to complain first). He has a V6 Camaro covered by a bumper to bumper warranty that needed an engine replacement. The warranty company provided the motor while Ocean Crest provided the labor. The warranty company has already paid them over $3000 and they are threatening my brother with collections for ANOTHER over $3000. This is after they handed him the keys and let him drive his car home without a word about him owing anything. So...to recap...with the motor included, the warranty company has paid out over $8000 in good faith - to put a used motor in. According to Ocean Crests math, the total repair would be in excess of $11,000?? Wow...clearly bad reviews online aren't enough to address this ludicrous and predatory business model (although this is only the first of many such reviews). The next steps will be simultaneous complaints to the Better Business Bureau and the Oregon State Attorney General. If it were up to me, I'd love to actually see this go to collections, as this company would be CRUSHED in a courtroom. Unfortunately, my brother is too afraid of them messing up his credit to want to risk that. But he literally can't pay their ridiculous excuse for a bill, so I might actually get my wish! I had an issue from a previous dealership that did a warranty repair, The owners worked with corporate to make it right, ended up loaning me their own personal car so I had enough seats for my kids during repair, and their body shop leader Shawn advocated for my repairs then executed them flawlessly. I have used this dealer for oil changes, and small repairs and every single thing small to big has been handled professionally and promptly. When I picked up my vehicle they had even detailed it to the tune of looking brand new again! I'm a mama with lots of kiddos so this is no easy task. My wife and I purchased a new 2017 Chevy Cruze from Ocean Crest in early 2018. The sales process took a pretty long time, there was a lot of back and forth about payment and various insurance and warranty polices that they insisted on adding. It took three different sales/management staff to demonstrate the features of the car to us. No one really seemed sure about how various things worked. One person even tried to claim the car was fitted with cruise control, which it was not. The vehicle ran fine for a few months and then the problems began. First was a noise coming from the front suspension and steering column area. It took five different visits to the service department of Ocean Crest before they could identify any kind of problem. Once it was identified it was fixed without much more resistance. Next was the passenger airbag sensor. It turned out this issue was related to a recall for the vehicle that had been previously missed during the PDI. This was a pretty simple fix as a recall notice had been issued. The next issue we had was the Start/Stop function on the engine started to malfunction, not restarting the engine once the brake pedal was released again. The first reaction of the dealership was to say that my wife didn't know how to operate the vehicle properly. Initially they refused to even look at the vehicle for this issue because "it's not possible for that to happen" according to the tech. It was a real struggle to get them to look at the car for this issue and of course when they did, they found nothing wrong. We tried for months to get this issue looked into properly but with no success. The service department here can be very resistant to helping customers with warranty issues. Overall, a pretty disappointing experience all round. read more

22 hours ago If I could select negative stars a would. I had my 4 door Jeep Wrangler hard top replaced after the back glass was broken. My only option with insurance was this shop. Communication was awful! I could never reach them to inquire about progress or any other info and they had the jeep for a month! When I picked the Jeep up there was still shattered glass everywhere inside and they didn't even bother tucking back in the carpets that line the floor and walls, so it looks unfinished and undone. It hasn't rained much at all until last month and since the rain started the top is leaking so badly there are puddles of water I have to sop up with bath towels and mold on every surface. Contacted ocean crest to address the issue and brought the Jeep in, he looks at it and points to show us where the gasket in the hard top had been scraped away and not replaced. My jeep has NEVER had any water leak problems until they put on the new hard top. And I have not adjusted or touched the top. Now to scapegoat responsibility they are claiming it is leaking from the front and that they are not liable to fix the gaskets, they want another payday from my insurance to do the work. Already shocked by the lack of integrity I do NOT want them touching anything again. There are now electrical issues with door locks and windows, and the stereo is damaged. In order to install the hard top on a 4 door it is necessary to remove the two panels of the front of the top called the freedom top. So they removed and put them back incorrectly. This is such a huge headache and I have a ton of work to restore this $25,000 vehicle after they $crewed me over royally. $4,000 for dishonest service and a half a$$ed job?!!! Please heed this warning and give your money to someone else! read more

Here is a small multi General Motors dealer with only two service writers. I arrived at 11 AM for my appointment to change the diesel fuel filter. I asked the service writer if the mechanic could check to determine why this fuel filter only lasted about two days after having a changed in Amarillo Texas. The service writer wrote wait in capital letters on the service order. Four hours later I went up to the desk to ask about the progress of my fuel filter replacement. To my amazement, they had not come out to tell me they found no cause for the fuel filter failure and had not yet installed the fuel filter. After more than another hour my fuel filter was installed, I paid my bill, and I worked my way back home. read more

Ocean Crest Service took 8 weeks to make a simple recall repair. They refused to release my car to me so I could take it to Portland, where another GM service center assured me they'd made hundreds of the same repair and could fix it, no problem. The Ocean Crest Service manager told be that the only way I could get my car back was to have it towed off the storage lot. She said they disabled it so I couldn't drive it. At first she falsely said it was for safety reasons. When I told her the GM service center in Portland told me it was absolutely not a safety issue (the recall was an emissions issue that had no relation to safety), she changed her story and said it was because GM required them to pay for parts that had been ordered. I suggested she cancel the order, but she claimed that was impossible. (When I told this to the GM service rep in PDX, he said GM may have this dealership on pay-as-you-go, which is not the case with most dealers.). The Ocean Crest Service manager said this practice of disabling cars and hanging onto them for weeks and even months was something they did regularly; she said in one case, the car wasn't returned to the owner for 6 months. To get my car back, I had to involve GM at the national level; they discovered that Ocean Crest hadn't filed the basic "spac case" order to get the parts. Meanwhile, they happily gave me a loaner (no pets allowed inside; a problem for our household), for which they billed GM $38 per day and 20 cents a mile. They might still be holding my car (which they disabled so I couldn't take it elsewhere) if I hadn't contacted GM national. No one should have to go through this much hassle for a simple recall repair. read more

I wanted to give this dealership a GREAT review especially their Service Department. I was traveling the Oregon Coast and when our family reached the area of Astoria OR we had some trouble with our 2012 GMC Sierra diesel truck. We received a message and the check engine light illuminated :(. We were hundreds of miles away from home and were pulling a 27' travel trailer. We were a little concerned being in a small town and away from home in finding a place that could take care of us. We did a quick search of the area and found Ocean Crest Motors so we drove over to talk to the service department. We spoke with the service manager Mistie and told her the error code and she immediately new the problem, it was with the exhaust system where the blue def is stored, it required a new heater and we had no option but to replace it because the way the system is designed you can only go so manly miles with this check engine error before the truck only will drive 4 miles per hour and since we were hundreds of miles from home and pulling a 27' travel trailer we needed to take action. The other dilemma was the problem started on a Wednesday and we were scheduled to leave town very early on Friday. We explained this to Mistie and she was very responsive and even though they were booked she talked to her mechanic and he said he would work us in in between his other jobs. Luck has parts were in stock and Mistie even said I believe this will be under warranty as it is a known issue - luck again it was under warranty. We had to leave the truck with them and rent a car. Friday morning bright and early about 9 AM Mistie called and said your truck is ready!!! :) We picked up, loaded up our trailer and were only a few hours off of our time schedule all due to Mistie and her mechanic - and someone washed our truck for us too - thanks! I cannot say more about this Dealer ship and their hands down AWESOME client service they offered us. Thanks again!!!! read more

Kind of a classic situation - upstairs (sales) cares about your experience; downstairs (service) acts like you're an inconvenience. The service manager puts on the sweet show but it hides a 'I don't give a s**t about your issue' attitude. No coordination, no empathy, no preparation, no follow-up. The weak link at this dealership is the service manager. Prior reviews support this. You'd think the owner would fix the problem and maybe hire a professional. The cashier leaves a lot to be desired too. Other than that, hey, great car dealership - buy a car, just get your service elsewhere. read more

This review is entirely about their service department. I love all my chevys and have had nothing but good experiences with my GM rigs. We recently bought a newer Tahoe from a different dealer in town (who treated us very well and has an amazing staff). We noticed an issue with the radio when we test drove the vehicle. The dealership offered to pay for the repair. Ocean crest inspected the components and informed us that the radio deck needed to be replaced. No biggie, the dealer we bought the vehicle from was going to cover it. The parts were on order and everything was going well. We bring the rig in the next week for the service. I need to mention that I had the tires replaced in between these appointments and I asked if they could perform an alignment as well, knowing I would pay out of pocket obviously. They said that would be fine and the entire service would take about 4 hours. No worries, I planned my day around this. When we finally get the call to pick up the car I am informed that there is a laundry list of parts that require replacement in order to do the alignment. I know full well they are trying to upsell me. I'm not a professional mechanic, but I have rebuilt front ends and I know what to look for when inspecting worn elements and driving a vehicle with a trashed front end. They ask for $1700 to replace the upper control arms, ball joints and tie rods. The tech didn't take any measurements or anything. I wasn't given any information about the tolerances of those components and they claimed they didn't even want to try and align it. I went home and inspected the parts myself. The inner tie rods had a little play but noting to be concerned about. To be safe, I had a relative take a look. He's been a mechanic for years and is a service manager at a dealership in Central Oregon. Knows his stuff. He agreed with me, told me the parts could've and should've been aligned. He told me to get my money back on principle (I was billed $30 just for the tech to wiggle the tie rods then conclude he was going to screw me). He aligned the front end for me and sent me on my way. I was overly nice to the ocean crest staff under the circumstances. I wanted to walk in and let them have it but I calmly asked to speak to the manager and I informed him of the situation. Being frank, I told him the tech either didn't know what he was doing or he was trying to screw me. I asked for a refund as the $30 was an unjust charge and I received nothing for it. It was not about the money, the $30 stood for his acknowledgement of my situation and the fact that I was wronged. Not only did he deny me the refund for the lack of service, he flat out told me to my face I was lying. He told me that I shouldn't trust my family member and that his guys are always right. At that point I informed him that I would rather have my vehicle towed 200 miles to be serviced by someone I trust than let them touch it again. They will never see another penny from me. I am beyond dissatisfied with this dealership and their service department. If they treat someone who works on cars like this imagine how far they will go to screw the ignorant. Stay away. read more

I entrusted the repairs of my car to Ocean Crest and was left disappointed. 1. My rear windshield wiper no longer works and needed to be replaced. They charged me $105.00 to tell me what I already knew and already told them that I needed a whole new mechanism. Then the mark up on the job was 100% from what my mechanic quoted . I of course declined having them do the job; however, was charged the $105.00. 2. The main reason I took my car to them was due to a leak coming from my sun roof. Two days after picking my car up it rained and the leak was worse than it was before they worked on it. When I called Ocean crest I was told by Misty that the "tech" said "if the problem reoccurs the glass in the sun roof track will need to be replaced ". I asked why this important information was not conveyed to me before the work was done. Misty stated that he probably couldn't tell until he got into the job and started to see what it was like. I said "at that point I should have been called and asked how I would like to have the situation resolved." When I asked to speak to her superior she would not transfer me. I was not offered any solution except for me to bring my car back and pay even more money for it to be fixed correctly! The one positive thing I can say about my experience with Ocean Crest is that the person who detailed the inside of my vehicle made it look like it was brand new. read more

The service department was hard to get hold of (four phone attempts), but when I did, Sean was helpful, so I brought my car in a few days later for an estimate. It was more than what the insurance company had estimated, so I asked him to submit a new claim, which he did. However, I called several times afterward to find out how that was going and got no response. He was never available and hadn't called me back to tell me anything. I left a voicemail asking about when I could schedule the service and got no response. I checked the insurance claim and found out they'd issued Oceancrest a check! I put a stop payment on the check because I couldn't get any response from the shop. Never did hear back from them. Took my car elsewhere. Weird. read more

BUYER BEWARE- they sold me a truck that need a lot of work! I was assured the 2001 Dodge Dakota was "road ready". The very first time I drove it the 100 miles south, I began having over heat problems. I had to pull over about every 15 minutes for it to cool down. After my crippled run to my local mechanic, he replaced the thermostat, added antifreeze that is needed for hot temps, this was a $300 charge. THIS WAS JUST THE BEGINNING; I asked the salesman, whom I'd grown to trust throughout our process of a month or more, if he would throw in a new set of tires. "Ah, nah, there's a good year left on those tires.", he says. My second trip down south, I ended up with a tire blowing out. Again, after getting road side assistance to get the tire changed, a $1000 trip to les schwab, and the tires were set. I asked them to keep the best one for the spare. They said the spare WAS the best one. I'd been in touch with the salesman about so many issues within the first month, I bought it in July of 2017, and he said he was sorry and would pay the $300 for the thermostat out of his own pocket if he had to.. (I guess they have a reputation of selling vehicles with issues) (professional source protected) The canopy does not lock and has a leak. Who knows what major component will fail next. I called the salesman recently and now he told me "I'm just a salesman" and told me to call the manager. Time can change things, he was very concerned the first week I had the truck. As a single individual, and had no advocate I could bring, I trusted them to sell me a quality dependable vehicle. They told me I WAS buying a dependable vehicle. I feel instead, they took advantage of my blind trust and sold me an undependable vehilce that I continue to dump money into. A major money pit! read more

Sam Stacy was excellent salesman. He took his time with me to show me a few rigs since I already knew what I was kind of looking for and left me with a no hastle, no pressure decision. The owner who was the gentleman the finished our docs. It took a little longer than normal but he was thorough and helped us get into the Truck I was looking for I would recommend Ocean Crest if you are looking for a GM Vehicle to drive. read more
