All I can say is wow! I really picked the right shop! I was recently on a vacation with 11 of my female family members. We were having an amazing trip then my transmission went out in my Chevy Tahoe. We called AAA to tow us to the nearest auto repair shop. Doc's had the best reviews (now I know why) so I chose them. They were closed that day so I called them the next business day to let them know my vehicle was there and my dilemma. As a single woman traveling I was nervous I was going to be taken advantage of by a shady repair man 200 miles away from home. To my pleasant surprise the shop is run by women! Cheryl the front desk person and Samantha the mechanic really took care of me. They made me understand what was happening with my vehicle and treated me more than fair. Because he had a good review, I trusted my car to Doc's for a routine service. He failed to perform the recommended service, did things that were not recommended, charged double what a dealer charged for the very same service, and illegally charged me $50 for paying with a credit card. Beginning the day after he had my car, I started having difficulty with the transmission (something he should have inspected, per the owner's manual, but says he did not), and now my transmission is completely shot and needs to be replaced. Our car was overheating on our way to Seaside from Beaverton, Oregon. They looked at our car close to closing time and let us know that our car wasn't actually overheating and it was just a faulty temperature sensor. Which turns out is a really quick fix and the guy even showed us how to do it since they didn't have the part on hand. Turns out our car was fine to drive home since it wasn't actually overheating. While on vacation at the Oregon coast the front brake calipers on our 2017 Subaru Outback malfunctioned, causing excessive rubbing and heat while braking. We brought the vehicle to Doc's Auto Repair. They replaced the brake caliper and brake pads for a cost of $576.83. They guaranteed their work for one year. One week later when we were back home in Tacoma the brakes started rattling once again. We brought it to our local garage, Midland Automotive. They found that the front calipers had not been properly seated or tightened, that the new brake pads had already chipped and that the tires had not even been properly tightened. The mechanic described it as a very dangerous situation. After paying $1332.93 for repairs to be done properly, I contacted the proprietor of Doc's Auto Repair for a refund. On May 20th he agreed to send a check for $576.83 to refund the cost of the repairs his shop did. I did not receive a check and did not receive any updates from him when I emailed again on June 12th and July 26th. At this point I will be filing in small claims court, but I want other customers to be aware of the shoddy work practices of Doc's Auto Repair. read more

We were headed home to Seattle when we started hearing a loud clunk every time we hit a dip in the road, so we pulled in to Doc's. Doc walked to my pick-up and went straight to a broken steering stabilizer. Family and I were on a trip in Seaside. We knew we were having some minor thermostat issues but when we got back to our vehicle after seeing the town our battery had died. When we found out it was the cooling fans running with the vehicle off, it was causing that to drain the battery. Went to a local Napa store and they said go see what Doc has to say. Went to Doc and he met us out front and saw that we were a large family on vacation and took care of us. Explained what was wrong and either gave us a bandaid fix to get us back on the road or fix it right. We chose fix it right. I stopped at Doc's without an appt. I was having some electronic issues after replacing a battery. I talked to Ephrim (sp?) and he said he'd take a look at it. 15 minutes later he came back to the office and said he'd run some diagnostics and that the problem was a tire sensor. He sent me to Les Schwab in Warrenton and the problem was solved. Not on were the employees nice but there was no charge. (Warrenton Jeep had told me diagnostics were $175 per hour and they couldn't get me an appt for 3 weeks). Thank you so much for saving what was left of my vacation. You are absolutely fanatastic! I was originally very upset with brake work that was done on my vehicle at Doc's. I was extremely frustrated and angry but Doc maintained composure and stayed professional with me the entire time. After a calmer state of mind, research and speaking with others it became clear that it was kind of a rare problem that snowballed causing my brakes to fail. Doc referred me to the dealership because it was most likely a recall issue. The dealership has placed me in the same position and Doc has gone above and beyond to help try to resolve the issue with the dealership. This is still an ongoing situation even with the "experts" but Doc has been very attentive (even after I left a negative review) and concerned about getting this taken care of. I genuinely appreciate the information and help he's given me to get this fixed...he really has no obligation to do so which makes him a really good person. I highly recommend Doc's for service, care and professionalism and apologize profusely for being a huge pain! Let me say first, I moved to Seaside and had to find a new mechanic for those big jobs I can't do myself. First I tried a shop on the main drag and they inflated the parts prices outrageously ( a mark up Is expected, but not triple the actual price) Didn't reconnect some wires that they disconnected and didn't clean up the area in the vehicle that they were working on, also charged me more than the quoted. So I asked around and Doc's auto repair was suggested. They are a busy smaller shop off the main drag . They diagnosed my problems, got the parts ordered( at a fair price) got the repairs done correctly, cleaned up their work area in the vehicle and got my vehicle back on the road again. Their rates are what you expect for a mechanic and they were upfront about the price. I already sent them some more business and I will return if another ."big job" happens. read more

My daughter had trouble with her car and it was towed here. She had changed the battery, but it was still not working right. Of course it started right up when it got to Doc's, but they still made sure to check it out and drive it a few times to make sure all was well. When we picked it up (we are from Portland - 1.5 hour drive), they explained what the issue was, and would not accept any payment for their time or checking things out "because we hadn't done anything." We drove around Seaside before heading home and it was making a new noise, so we drove back and, of course, the noise was gone. But they still took the time to explain what the (now gone) noise was, without condescension, to two women. It was refreshing, and my daughter and I both learned something new about cars. Wonderful people all round! I was on roadtrip with son, car started acting funny near Gearhart, checked codes and it had some messages. My CA mechanic suggested i get car looked at before driving further, Doc Auto got great reviews so gave them a call. My wife and I were recently traveling from Chandler, AZ to Woodland, WA to visit with friends and decided to see the coast while traveling. While going through Nevada we took a sharp dip in the roadway over cattle grates in the road and damaged the aluminum engine splash guard underneath the engine. It was hanging so low we had to have it removed as we entered Oregon. Luckily, I was looking at reviews of auto service facilities while in Seaside, OR and found Doc's Auto Service with a review from some other traveler who had the same damage to their vehicle that we had. I recently moved to a small town outside of Seaside, Oregon. I had my car towed, after stalling out on the highway at sunset just miles from my home. The tow driver recommended a couple places locally. The first choice was very backed up and couldn't get to it right away, so we decided to take it to Doc's because he sounded friendly over the phone and also said he could get to it on Monday. So I looked at YELP over the weekend and also priced different alternators, because I believed that was the problem. I was a bit concerned after reading the comments of past clients of Doc's due to the fact that 99 percent of positive comments where from travelers who complimented the shop on the ability to get them back on the road fast. The only comment that spoke negatively of their experience was a local women, who had a very disappointing experience and ended up having to go to another mechanic to repair what Doc's had refused to repair on his own work. She seemed to have spent a lot of time & energy going back to him with no resolve. My car was there, so I was kinda stuck as to move forward. I also should mention I have been driving Volvos for over 50 years, and often did my own repairs on my 245's, but now I was driving a 1994 850 that before moving to Oregon had put quite a bit of money into the engine, and only had my oil changed in Seaside since moving to that area. After discussing my situation and the brands of what Doc's offered with Volvo in Portland & a local Chevy dealer in my area, i was told the brand he offered along with a life time guarantee it would be most likely my best option. So I called the shop back and told the women who answered, who I was and to go ahead and repair my red wagon with the choices of alternators that Doc had recommended. She said it would be a couple days as they would order the part from out of our area. I said that was fine, just give me heads up a day or two prior to the day that the car would be fixed, so I could have my money's together. So I waited........i talked to her later and she asked if I wanted to replace a rubber that runs between the new alternator & the fan, and I said no, I believed that had recently been replaced and right now I could just afford the $400plus bill for the alternator replacement. Then I waited another couple days and called. She said she was willing to replace the belt for free because it wouldn't be good to use an old belt with a new alternator. She said many things had to be moved to get to the old alternator, so that's why it was taking time. The next day, being Thursday, Doc called saying the car was finished with a new alternator and a new free belt. i reminded him I may need a day or two to get my money together but would be in as soon as possible. That caused him to go into a rage over the phone insulting me continuously until I had to hang up. The next morning I called to say I would be in to pick the car up. The young women asked how I would be paying and I said with my debit card. She was friendly and said great. So a friend of mine & I drove over to pick my car up. I was nervous and hoped I could just pay for the car and leave. I went in the shop alone as my friend waited in the his car. I arrived to a very small, cluttered office with 5 people inside. One being a tiny baby asleep tucked in a corner of the office. Doc was standing in the middle of the office talking to a women sitting on a chair on my side of the counter. As soon as Doc realized who I was he grabbed a cut belt and shoved it into my face loudly talking about " this is that belt that you said you didn't want replaced & i replaced it for FREE". He continued on his attack of my character directing his remarks to all in the room including his female friend in the chair beside me who also chimed in and insulted me. I waited and tried to get the young women over by the baby to help, as she was In front of a computer. i noticed in the chaos that the key to my car was in front of me on the counter, so as I offered my credit card I quickly picked that up & pocketed it. Then Doc raged on with attacking me and saying I would never be welcomed in his shop again. I said, I will return if this repair has any problems to take advantage of the life time guarantee you stated came with the parts & labor. He ranted on to say , no there are other shops in this area. I said there is a man with me outside, you best talk to him. So fortunately he bounded outside leaving the room silent with the women to complete her work and have me sign the papers of repair. When I went out to return to my friends car, Doc was still there talking to my friend. As he noticed me the verbal abuse continued and I too said some insulting things to him as I rushed to the car & locked myself in. My friend immediately pulled forward, saying "he best not touch my car". We then pulled out across the street to where my car was parked. We drove in from Forest Grove to Cannon Beach for a quick day trip. After we parked we noticed a plastic shield hanging off the front of the car. Panicked we called the closest shop in the area. They said they were a bit backed up but would be able to squeeze us in to take a look at it. Not only did they squeeze us in, and fix it, but we were in an out within an hour. Doc's auto does not stand behind his work. They are fake and they lie to your face. He clearly did not fix my car correctly and it broke down and I had to take it somewhere else to get fixed and to redo the work that he did and pay again for the same work because he did the job wrong. When I asked him to stand behind his work he said anything and everything to backpedal saying that everybody else is shady mechanics the only shady mechanic here is docs auto. Had them come look at my Yukon after a hit & run incident in Portland. Said the rear suspension needed replaced and the axle was fine so it would be $300 - $400. That estimate tripled but I was fine with it because I needed my vehicle as my ex wife has a lot of health issues. So everything is 'fixed' and fast forward about 6 months, I'm on the freeway and my Yukon is swaying back and forth but I attributed it to the rain / hydroplaning but it was doing it when I was only going 10 mph as well and almost had a few close calls. So at the next gas stop I look over at my rear tires and the outer tread is completely bald and starting to see metal. Not really enthused as I still have 5 hours travel time to my destination. I make it there and take my rig to a Les Schwab and the employee calls me in to look at my axel and it's bent six ways til Sunday. How this went unnoticed is baffling to say the least. So I go to a pull yard, get an axle and have it replaced and got to spend a grand on new tires (I had just replaced the tires a year prior). I was always told that Doc did amazing work but this was completely incompetent or just all out lazy. I couldn't contest the charges as too much time had elapsed and I'm nowhere near Seaside anymore so don't have the option to go in for them to make things right. Absolutely horrible company !! Still one star for these guys. The response by the company is completely false and is almost comical how they tried to dig themselves out of a hole by telling lies. The timing belt wasn't discussed at all. I didn't inform Two Crow Auto that the timing belt had been replaced in the past because that wasn't within my knowledge of the vehicle. Further more Two Crow never warned me about the timing belt. All lies from these guys. (There is a stamp by the timing belt informing when the timing belt was last replaced) They want to try and cover up the fact they more then likely knew the condition of the vehicle and were unconcerned. Either that or they never ran a full diagnostic on the car prior to working on it which I asked them to do. If they had done it properly they should have noticed not just the timing belt but also both axles needed to get replaced. I would not have paid to get the transmission fixed if the car wasn't already in working condition. What bad business, the shop doesn't notice or care about a loose timing belt let alone both the front and rear axles. Either they didn't do a full diagnostic on the car or didn't care about the quality of the car and wanted my money to fix the transmission anyway. Now they want to cover up and backtrack on what happened. They made up lies like, "we asked you about the timing belt", which is completely false. Their response really shows how dishonest the company is. They didn't warn me about the timing belt, they told me the transmission was shipped from California not Texas, they didn't run a full diagnostic on the car or didn't care. (They didn't notice the axles needed replacing or that the timing belt was ripping apart the engine) Thanks for your response, Two Crow Auto, it only proves you are dishonest. I was at the coast having a normal weekend getaway. And guess what my car broke down. I initially thought it was a transmission issue and was scared to death. I got a tow truck and was initially gonna go to blums auto center. The tow truck driver stated that was stupid and to go to Two Crows. He said that they have great service and honest. A dealership would kill my bank account and two crows would be much more affordable. So I decided to go to Two Crows. I called doc and we talked on the phone on Saturday night.... Saturday night people. He was literally a car doctor on the emergency line saving my cars life. After all this I waited till Monday morning and nervous about my transmission. At this point a great mechanics rob and Leif looked at my car. At first we thought the worst but Rob being the Sexy rugged man he is, found out that it was a broken axel and not the transmission. Olivia then quickly researched for the part, but didn't find it in town. By the way they were always upfront and honest about the whole process. Olivia then stated that they couldn't get the part in till Tuesday, but Leif came to the rescue. They got it delivered the Same day for a small fee and fixed my car quickly, later that day. Now I am at home with a working car and went to work on Tuesday. Two Crows is not just a great local business, they truly care about their patrons and treat their customers as their own. They are honest, dependable, and affordable. So the lesson here is whether you live in the coast or are an out of towner with a downed car the first place you have to go is two crows. Best in town. Just look at their parking lot... seriously... it's full of cars. If you don't know what that means is that they have a lot of work because they have a great reputation. Had to search out a mechanic in Seaside OR who could look at our Honda ODDyssey, VANnessa, on our 6 day road trip. When I called they were more than compassionate and invited us to come by, even though they were busy. They test drove it to ensure we would be safe driving it home. Suggested some fuel injector cleaner and sent us on our way. I am happy to say we are back home SAFE, and sound of mind, thanks to these friendly folks who took mercy on a couple of Californians who were afraid they might get stranded in an Oregon tourist town. read more

On Friday, 4/16/21 at 4:00pm, my car's drive belt started going out as we pulled into Seaside. We called Doc's and Customer Service advised to bring it in and they would get it fixed. By 4:45pm they had the belt replaced and my car up and running again. Very friendly, helpful and honest business. 100% recommend this business.
