We were coming to the area on vacation and had some car problems. We had been calling around and no one could get us in. We called TJ auto repair and they just had a cancellation. I had described the issues that we had been experiencing and she knew right away as to what, but she wanted needed us to bring my car in to confirm the issue so that the correct part can be ordered. They were even able to recommend a place to rent a car while we had the look at and replace the tepum in my car. When the work was complete they called me letting me know that the work was finished and that all of the issues that we had been experiencing had been fixed. Later that day we went to the shop to pick up my car. They brought the car up and the repair was done. On the way back to the beach house non of the issues were there any more. They even took the time to wash our vehicle. TJ auto repair has a lot of value in there work by getting all of the repairs done in a timely manner and was able to get us back on the road. I called three times about my vehicle getting looked at and fixed. Each time I was told bring it in and they will look at it the following week. That never happened , Every time I drove by their shop another car was on the lift. There was always a reason given why my vehicle wasn't next. so I waited, then they told me I needed a new engine and my carburetor needed work. (I don't have a carburetor): Now it wasn't running at all. This was all most Three months on the lot. I went and got ti and it did run. Turned right over. In the mean time as I was waiting for the first vehicle to get worked on my other cars air bag light kept coming on, they tried to fix it three times and I got a look at charge every time they saw it,plus a charge for fixing it, I was told I wouldn't be charged. The air bag didn't get fixed, they broke he grill on my hood, left the hood open, I saw it when I was driving over the bridge, they said didn't open my hood or brake the front grill. I did get my door latch fixed, plus another look at charge. but I kept looking at the inside door panel and they broke that too. looks like they tried to glue the bottom of the panel to the door, the panel is not attaches, No I well not go back, even to get fixed what they mess up. read more

My wife and I and grandson were in Warrenton last week on our annual Columbia river fishing vacation when at approximately 3:00 PM our car, pulling our 17" boat, lost power and died on the side of the road. Because there was limited cell service where we were, I walked up to a local T-Mobile location near by. Using their wifi and talking with a young lady in the store, I asked if there was a Subaru dealership in the area. She said "No", but gave me a couple of auto repair shops to try. The first one I called was TJ's Auto Repair. Someone was watching over us that day. When I called TJ's I was told if I could get the car there they would be glad to take a look at it, but they closed at 5:00 PM. I then called AAA to set up our tow. About 3:35 AAA arrived and a very nice gentleman put our car on the flatbed and hooked our boat to the truck for our ride over. When in the tow truck I asked the driver if he was familiar with JT's Auto. His response was short and sweet that 'They were really good people". That was the understatement of the decade. We arrived about 4:00 PM and by 4:15, as we filled out paperwork in the office, everyone there was working on the car diagnosing our 'issue'. About 15 minutes later the owner comes in the office to talk with us and tells us that our parts were on the way (our new alternator arrived as we were talking) and they would have us on the road in no time. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Here we were a new customer with a problem that comes in an hour before closing. They drop what they were doing to diagnose our problem, order parts, fix our car and get us back on the road in less than an hour. While we were talking about rental cars and a place to stay, the whole time the owner, Tim, Roberta in the office, and Steve and Ray who worked on our car, were warm, friendly, and reassuring that they would take care of us and get us back on the road. When Tim came back in at 4:50 and said we were ready to go, I just couldn't believe it. A grown man moved to tears in their office. And on top of everything, pricing was more than fair. This is what service is all about. If I had found a dealership, I know it would have taken them days. TJ's took less than an hour. All I can say is from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU! I wish we lived closer so they could do all our maintanence work. If you are in the area or passing through on your way to somewhere else, if the need arizes, do not hesitate to give TJ's a call. Me and my brothers were on the way to visit the beautiful Oregon coast line coming from Seattle and as soon as we turned onto the Astoria bridge a big loud bang came from my car and the power steering felt like it completely went out. We called a auto repair place down the road and received a answer from a man that sounded unmotivated, stressed and just upset that we called and after getting off the phone and feeling questionable about going to the place we figured maybe we should try another place and see if they're cooler and let's just say thank god we did. As soon as I called TJs I was greeted by somebody who sounded like they actually wanted to help us get back on the road. When arriving I was greeted by the best customer service I've ever experienced at a car repair place EVER everything was perfect and straightforward, only after a short time they sourced the problem fixed it and got me back on the road in less than a few hours. If there was room for more stars I would give this place 10000. 10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR ANYONE IN THE AREA THESE PEOPLE ARE THE BEST!!! read more

So I'm attending classes in Astoria for three weeks which is an 11 hour drive from my home when my precious auto begins to have a tough time starting. With increasing concern for my well being, as I know NO ONE in the area and missing class means tremendous added expense in terms of accommodations and retraining, I begin to ask around class for a mechanic and I'm referred to TJ's. I make a brief all to the shop and the phone is answered by the wise and powerful Katrina who friendly, funny and soooo knowledgeable. I explain that I'm concerned my alternator may be going out and because of my make of car want to be sure she will be able to get parts and try to determine how long I will be without my "freedom wheels". Naturally, she asks about the battery but I'm certain the battery is new enough that there shouldn't be a problem unless something else is amiss. I made an appointment for first thing Friday morning but I was extremely concerned the car wouldn't start the next morning with the cold drain on the car. Great news however, Super SnAAB in proper fashion and while begging forgiveness, did in fact start Friday morning and drag her weary self to the shop after four days of VERY sluggish starts. Apparently, those cold cranking amps are much more important in the Pacific North West than in temperate Citrus Heights, CA. Further good news...my dead battery is still under warranty and the new one has already been installed. Naturally, I was only charged for labor and as if that isn't great enough they washed my car and rims and gave it back with in a couple of hours with an estimate for further repairs. I think these folks are really going to grow on me. And a good thing too, because I'm most likely to return to Astoria for additional training and will likely still be driving Super SnAAB. read more

My first time reviewing a business. I've taken my vehicles to TJ's for years and have always been happy with their service until the last time I took it in. Back in October, my car srarted overhearing, I took it in and said I think it was the water pump (same issues I had with my previous car four years ago.) I go to pick it up a few days later and they said it was not the water pump but the replaced the hoses and charged me somewhere in the $850-880 range. I pick it up and they warn me I mah have to add coolant because the water is running through the hoses. I drive it home, add water. I drive it to work the next morning and it is overheating yet again. I take it back, they replace the water pump, charge me another 800 and some odd dollars, letting me know they did not charge me for the diagnostics that time. Needless to say, after being told I was screwed by several people, including a couple of mechanics, I will be taking my car elsewhere. read more

Trina and Tim are amazing. We had a mishap at the Fuel Station and had gas put in our diesel truck. They towed our truck in on Sunday night and fixed it by 9:45 Monday morning. When we arrived to pick it up they had even washed it. They are very friendly and the nicest people. We were visiting here from California but if we lived here we would take our vehicles here for sure. I recently moved to Astoria and had no idea where to take my car and didn't know anyone to ask. I figured I would try TJ's for a job that I could compare apples-to-apples prices with other places I've used in the past. Not only was everyone friendly and fun, the repair was completed in good time, the price was fair and competitive, they were accommodating to my schedule and the wait was minimal. I couldn't be happier with the work, and bonus surprise at the end, they cleaned my car! By the time I left, I felt very much at home and have found my go-to place for car repair. I must share with you how wonderful TJ'S Auto Repair is. I'm a nice old lady passing through town, actually camping in Cannon Beach this last weekend. My Motorhome was almost broken down..didn't think I could make it home to Tacoma. But with the help of Ross, and the quiet comfort he telephonic ally gave me , I made it. He said he would find me on the way home if I didn't make it and repair it on the road. This young man was so caring. I felt he was with me the whole way. Thank you TJ'S for Ross. Stopped in really quick while on our way home from our vacation because we had noticed an odd drip coming from the engine. Tim came right out to look at the car, despite them being really busy, and checked on this little leak and immediately knew what it was and explained it all right there. It ended up being nothing to worry about, but he took the time to explain what it was, and encourage us that the engine was probably ok. We were on our way again in minutes, no cost and and yet having more peace of mind was priceless. They are very reasonable prices and do quality work. Several times I have just driven in with a problem and they get right on it. They have a $38 oil change special where they check over EVERYTHING including brakes not the usuall quicky oil change minor checkup. read more

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I took my vehicle in and was told it would be 3-4 DAYS at most... Over 3 WEEKS later I got my car back, $300 over what my "WORST case Quote" was. not happy. And I've heard nothing but bad stuff about them. Never got any update calls and had to call in to see what was going on. finally I got a "will be done in the morning ", so I drove and hour there on my day off, only to find it not done. "it'll be don't by 5." NOPE! About a week later I finally got it back. read more

We were passing through the area in our RV when we thought it would be a good idea to have the noise coming from our wheel looked at. We had been told by a mechanic the day before that it was nothing of concern. Good thing we found TJ's and Catrina! She immediately recognized that we had an issue with the caliper sticking causing excessive heat. Catrina had to order parts to rebuild the calipers since parts for our vehicle were not readily available. That is what I can good old mechanic work! The staff stayed late to get our rig done and safe again so we had it to sleep in that night. I cannot say enough about the quality of work, honesty and friendliness of this shop.
