My husband and I felt that this diving service was okay, nothing spectacular. Some of the crew members were not as friendly. They were there if we needed help, but didn't go out of their way to ensure we had a great dive. They took us to a cool spot to dive and we were able to see a lot of species of fish. read more

They had two boats going out and a large party cancelled so they moved us all to one boat. Then we waited over a half hour later than our scheduled departure. We waited for four people and they obviously were more concerned about the revenue they would get instead of the inconvenience of the other sixteen people. They seemed disorganized and unconcerned about people's discontent. They did not apologize or offer snacks or drinks besides water. No fault of theirs, the boat was rocky and most of the people on the boat felt sick and two people were throwing up. Snorkeling in the winter may not be a good choice if you get seasick. read more

Should be 5 stars for the scenery, negative 4 for the crew and staff. We were snorkeling, probably the rudest people I have ever encountered,. The boat captain was so sarcastic, seemed to make fun of people in the water and gripe and complain about everyone else. The prices what you would expect to pay, the experience is one sadly that we regret. I would suggest looking around before booking. I do see numerous reviews of positive experiences, maybe they were having an off day, but EVERY STAFF MEMBER.... BAD JU JU!! read more

If you are looking for a wonderful diving instructor, this is hands down the place to go! I started my scuba certification process earlier this summer in Key West and had a horrible experience with an even more horrible instructor. So much so that I almost gave up on diving altogether. When I returned home, I had someone recommend Ocean Divers in Key Largo to me, and said I should try them before quitting. I am so glad that I did. I just spent 2 days diving with "Scuba Steve", finished my certification, and am now super excited to go diving again! He went above and beyond with answering questions and making scuba a fun experience!! Even though the weather was not conducive to boat dives, Steve found other alternatives so we could get experience diving and finish our certs. All the people in the shop were fun and friendly, as well as knowledgable. I would definitely recommend this dive shop ! read more

We had such a great dive experience with ocean divers. We made the trip out to snapper ledge and molasses reef. Incredible! We hired a guide, abby, who spotted everything for us. Tons of sharks that day, turtles, lobster, rays and thousands of fish. The best dive company I have gone out with. read more

Ocean divers provided us the opportunity to dive with 25 sea sick snorklers. We had no clue who was crew and who wasn't until role call. Just felt like they really didn't love diving. Molasses reef was pretty sweet though. read more

A terribly sad day for OCEAN DIVERS...What was once a top notch dive centre has, since being acquired by Divers Direct, dove directly and decidedly downwards... Hands down Ocean Divers used to be one of the best dive operations I have experienced in approximately 20 years of diving. In the past there was no other place I would ever recommend in the keys more than OD and always bought dives in bulk knowing I would never go anywhere else. I can no longer say that is true. To provide some context I am a PADI instructor with thousands of dives, have dived all over the world and am a holder of an Ocean Divers "Preferred Diver" Card. A dive centre that once had a certain warm, friendly and customer first attitude has been replaced with a cold, rigid and unfriendly environment. I don't know if it is Divers Direct that is to blame or simply the front line employees themselves. It is as if the staff has unconsciously (or consciously) decided to torpedo the whole operation and reputation of the place. Even those employees that are holdovers from the past have changed. While the location and the logo remains the same this is no longer the Ocean Divers I (and many of you) used to love and know. I am open minded enough to give them another chance but I have a feeling that a once great operation has gone by the wayside. I pray that I am wrong but I have a feeling that the True Oceans Divers is gone...R.I.P. The new counter staff in the shop (yes Don) has none of the kind friendly characteristics that now makes one long for when Connie was at the helm and one looked forward to seeing her day in and day out. Awful experience! The lady in the shop is very sweet and helpul, so we thought it'd be great. However, we're extremely dissapointed on board because the captain is VERY RUDE, yelling at people, and unprofessional. He ruined our holiday and special occasion. Will NEVER go back again. There are plenty of nice diving groups around with good prices too. read more

Can't recommend Ocean Divers enough! We went to complete our open water Certs and had a wonderful experience. Andrea at the front desk was awesome and our Dive Instructor Michelle is a legend! She's amazing, so patient and incredibly knowledgeable! We felt safe and comfortable the whole time. Michelle explained every step of the way and was more than happy to answer (all lol) of our questions. The rest of the staff and crew was great as well. We dove Christ statue which is basically a tourist trap- not many fish there. I'd recommend asking to go to Molasses reef to see some amazing colorful fish and nurse sharks. All in all great experience and highly recommend asking for Michelle :) Thanks guys and hope to be back soon ! read more

One of the best dive outfits I've gone with. I'm a certified diver but my wife and daughter are not. I had signed us up for me to dive and them to snorkel from the same boat out of their Bayside location, but the morning we got there the lady in the shop gave it to me straight that the surface chop might make for uncomfortable snorkeling, and gave me a couple options, then happily refunded my wife and daughters' fees. I went out with the divers, and it was great, the boat was clean, in good shape, and uncrowded. Captain and crew were super friendly and helpful, especially Danni, who led the dives, and who was my dive buddy since I was alone. She was great about adjusting her pace to the group and pointing out interesting things. Then the next day when things were calmer, my wife, daughter and I all went snorkeling on a trip out of the oceanside location. Different boat, different crew, but still just as friendly and helpful. We were the only snorkelers on the boat, but weren't made to feel like second class citizens for not being divers. This was my daughter's first snorkeling trip and the captain and mate were very accomodating to her, cheerfully offered to watch her on the boat while she took many breaks from the water so my wife and I could stay in. read more
