The Public Walkway that has been here longer then this house in Sea Colony in St Augustine Beach Fl.

The City of St Augustine Beach Florida should be ashamed of themselves. This area should be left alone and the Boardwalk shouldn't be moved just because some Fat Cats have $600,000 to move the boardwalk. The City of St Augustine Beach has already put down construction sticks with Orange ribbons on top. As if this is where the New Walkway is going to go all the way to the ocean. So the little Rich people can have it their way. Screw the fact that some rainwater drain from some of these houses. Flows right into the swamp of this park.

It's really kind of hard to review a board walk beach access. I'm guessing if it gets you to the beach it is at least A-OK and worthy of 3 stars. This one does that. It goes from a gravel parking lot to a great beach. Boom. Mission accomplished. Sure, it weaves a bit through some trees, passes by some homes/condos that are fairly well hidden from view by the trees, and seems to be well built, elevated from the sand and scrub grass, and was easy to find after walking back from far down the beach. I'm gonna go ahead and give it that extra star for being sturdy and well maintained. And for having some shade so you aren't getting fried on your way to the beach to get fried.

St. Augustine Beach is absolutely stunning! It is so much different from our beaches on the gulf…read morecoast. The sand has a better surface for running on (and I did run on the beach! It was glorious). The water was nice and cool. The beach was clean. It had some small shells, but not many. It was mostly free of seaweed and great for swimming. There are also more waves on the east coast of Florida than on the west coast. I expected them to be bigger than they were. However, once I was in the water I realized that they were mightier than they appeared. Some of those waves can knock you over! I may have swallowed a lot of salt on the day I was here. The waves were a lot of fun. We did get attacked by some bugs floating in the ocean as the sun set. I would recommend watching that from somewhere else. On this coast, the sunrise is more predominant anyhow. There is a pier on the beach that has some incredible views. It also is popular with fisherman. We came back and watched the sunrise on the pier the next day. It looks like there is normally a charge, but not if you are there early enough. It was no charge at 6am on the day we used it. The view was incredible. You can see the Lighthouse lit up from the pier too. We loved the beach in St. Augustine and we will definitely visit it the next time we are in town.

The sight of the frothy, salty blue-green waves gently lapping at the shoreline is mesmerizing, creating a soothing soundtrack that relaxes your mind, body and soul. Seagulls swoop and dive, calling out to each other as they ride the azure air currents above. The salty sea breeze carries the smell of adventure and relaxation, mingling with the sweet scent of the flower grapes and coconut oil. St. Augustine Beach truly provided a picturesque & idyllic escape. Sea you soon!

A little confusing that this is listed both on Yelp and on Apple Maps as "Saint Augustine Beach…read morePier" because the sign at the location says "The St. John's County Ocean & Fishing Pier." It's $2 to walk out on the pier ("Sightseeing", per the sign) but it's worth it. It's a beautiful view! Today was incredibly windy - so bad that I had trouble holding my binoculars in place while looking for birds. But I was able to log 9 bird species while there, just watching them fly by and/or on the beach. There are benches for sitting, but they did have the end of the pier blocked off. See other reviewers for speculation on why. There's also a pretty popular Farmer's Market that sets up every Wednesday in the parking lot in front of the pier. It's popular enough that we witnessed traffic bottleneck there, so be mindful of that.

I ended up loving it so much that I came back every single day. The staff in the shop are incredibly kind and welcoming--they really make the whole experience even more enjoyable and get you excited about fishing. One of the best parts is that you can rent fishing poles for the day, which is perfect if you're traveling and didn't bring your own gear. They also sell bait in the shop, so you don't have to worry if you run out.
