It's $2 to walk out on the pier ("Sightseeing", per the sign) but it's worth it. It's a beautiful view! Today was incredibly windy - so bad that I had trouble holding my binoculars in place while looking for birds. But I was able to log 9 bird species while there, just watching them fly by and/or on the beach. There are benches for sitting, but they did have the end of the pier blocked off. See other reviewers for speculation on why. There's also a pretty popular Farmer's Market that sets up every Wednesday in the parking lot in front of the pier. It's popular enough that we witnessed traffic bottleneck there, so be mindful of that.

Beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The beach is soft sand and easy to walk on. There are many people walking on the beach in the morning. Some are also on bicycles. The view is great. Thete are many restaurants, shops, gas stations, hotels, drug stores, and bars. It's a mini-city. It's a lot more quiet than St. Augustine.

We pulled on to the beach and went to the left to meet up with other Ravens fans. We had a great time! The beach was clean and packed. But there was plenty of space for everyone. There's actually a cool little point there where you can cast into the relatively surf-less area if you want to sight fish. I heard a guy say he caught a big red over by the docks. Lots of mullet this time of year. Saw a stingray so be sure to shuffle your feet. Much better to go on a weekday. Very crowded on Saturday. It was combat fishing on the jetty. Hard to figure out where to park and there were some words exchanged between a couple of people about blocking views. Very cool to watch the boats go by. Nice view of the fort and the old town.
