They advertised a certified pre-owned Civic for a good deal so I emailed them to confirm that they still had the car with them. After confirming that they did have it I came in the next day. Unfortunately they could not "find" the car I had inquired about. So they had me test drive a newer pre-owned Civic that was $3,000 more expensive. After sitting me down and asking how high I was willing to have my monthly payments for the newer civic they told me the car that I had originally inquired about was in fact sold several days ago. Then a manager named Konstanin came to explain to me that "nice cars aren't cheap and cheap cars aren't nice." When I told him repeatedly that I was not interested in buying or leasing a brand new Civic he got mad and said that I "wasn't letting him help me." So I walked out. Then a few hours later the sales manager Chris called me to say he was sorry and would try to find a similarly priced civic for me. The next day I emailed them asking why the original Civic I had inquired about was still listed on their website. He replied that they only update their site once a week and that his "finding me a good deal" was trying to sell me the newer more expensive Civic. I highly recommend avoiding this place, they are rude and communicate terribly. read more

Was "lured" to this dealership from Monterey under the guise that they had a "special program" for customers who pass other dealerships to drive to Soquel and buy from them. Get there and not only do they not have the car I wanted, but no such "special program' exists. They then showed me basically sticker price deals they could offer. Finally, the "sales manager" comes and asks what he can do for me since I came there to buy a car .... How about giving me the deal promised to me over the phone.... What a waste of my time. Simply left and went to a Honda dealer in Salinas. Went home in my new Accord that night. I suggest you avoid this dealership and their false promises. read more

I have tried to deal with Ocean every time I have purchased a Honda of which there have been over 10. Each time they were not close to a deal, and I went to San JOSE or the BAY area to buy. I bought a 2010 civic and drove to Milpitas to save $1000.00. I tried my local dealer again last night for a 2012 Fit..Robert Estrada was the salesman.He is personable, not pushy and knew his product..I told him the price I had from a peninsula dealer..He called Mr Montelone the G Manager, and he accepted my offer,,no hassle, and I offered to allow Honda credit to finance it as I assumed they are compensated for giving them business, the rate at Honda credit was .09% with no down payment if I wished..They give free exterior washes and $20.00 oil changes and Robert told me I could even bring in the 2010 for washes.. What advice can I give that wouldn't apply to any other dealership...If this review were strictly on the salespeople...there would be a 5 star review....if you want to Learn about the product....the vehicle, I was very impressed and I spoke to more than 1 of them...The game they play is a step sale...it requires a finance manager who has to find financers...the negotiation is easily lost if you assume ...know your finances, know the value of your trade and know what your budget will and won't allow....same everywhere right? The advice that is especially true with Ocean is to ensure that EVERYTHING they say is IN WRITING...because MY EXPERIENCE involved smiles and promises HAND_SHAKES and BOLD-FACED LIES....I won't get into specifics...but a fee required for my trade-in was a stumbling point 2 weeks after taking the vehicle home...and after a contentious discussion that ended with a Hand Shake and a "Don't worry about it." I got stuck with the fee...... Car buying is rarely a great deal for the Buyer...no matter how much people say they talked down.....I'm cool with that ...I have a problem with people who shake your hand and LIE to your face....if you gotta have a Honda...take a ride to Watsonville...the 12 miles is worth not having to YELP your evperience read more

This is my third time using Ocean Honda in Santa Cruz. The first time it was drop off, and pick up later in the day for a nail in my tire. There was no problem, as I scheduled the drop-off on line, and picked it up when they called to say it was ready (approx 1pm). The second time I had a scheduled maintenance appt. I arrived on time, and i was told it would take approx 1 hr, and I decided to wait there for my vehicle. Almost 2 hrs later, my vehicle was done, with a rather shotty "car wash". I get it, the place can be busy, but I made an appointment, at time slotted for ME. Though a bit annoyed, I brushed it off, giving them the benefit of the doubt. Today 6/12/2013, I had a 1 pm appointment, that I had made online, with an email confirmation. I arrived on time. I stood outside withmy vehicle, as the giant sign says to until an attendant can meet with you, for approx 10 min, with no one in sight. I finally got to talk to someone, and when I told him I had an appointment, he said he didn't show record of it. I offered him my confirmation number, and he said he would take care of it. He asked if I was going to wait for my vehicle, and I said yes. Another associated informed him that there was a 2 HOUR wait from that time on. Annoyed, I looked at my associate, and he offered me shuttle. I tried to be understanding, and said that I lived in South County. He said that would be no problem, as the shuttle will go wherever was needed, and they would bring me back when the vehicle was done. He then assured me it would be ready at 330p. (2 1/2 hrs after my initial appt) He showed me the waiting area where the shuttle driver would come by to pick me up. No joke, almost an hour later, '"a" driver showed up, looking less than thrilled to be there, and not only was I to be picked up, but 4 other persons going ALL OVER the county. I did not sign up for a tour around the county in this horrendous summer traffic, when my vehicle should have only taken 1 - 1 1/2 hrs max for my service. Come to find out, the driver was not a shuttle driver at all, but one of the detailers! No wonder his professionalism gave us all a warm and fuzzy feeling. I waited patiently in the waiting area for 2 1/2 hours, and finally got up and inquired about my car, only to find out that they had not even started to work on it!!! There was no attempt to contact me to let me know. The associate said to me: "I thought you went with the shuttle". My reply was, it didn't matter if I did or didn't. This should not take this long! What is the point of making an appointment at all, if it is going to become an ALL DAY ordeal?! It wasn't because my vehicle needed tons of work. It was their mismanagement of time, appointments, people, and unprofessional manner in which they handled their continuous errors. I asked for my vehicle, WITHOUT ANY work done. The associate apologized, and offered a loaner car for the next time. My reply was, There will not be a next time, because no one should need a loaner vehicle for a simple service. I will not be returning to Ocean Honda Santa Cruz, or recommend it to anyone. I will go out of my way to detour people from it, as the service is subpar and obviously has not changed its practices from the last time I was there. read more

I have purchase three cars from Ocean Honda any now they are not honoring their lifetime contracts for oil changes and service agreements. They are instead claiming this was the "previous" management's agreements. I went in for recall service and they tried to charge me for items I did not need. I purchased a 2008 Honda Odyssey and have had nothing but issues with the rotors on the brakes. After 10K miles they begin to shutter and shake. Honda refuses to accept any responsiblity for this issue, just search the web and you will see how many other unhappy customers you will find. I went to Ocean Honda for Service hoping that they would help me with my issue being a Honda dealer - of course they would want to make the customer happy? No, all I heard were excuses.. I can't drive my van with 5 kids in it on 17 and not expect this issue, braking gradually heats up the rotors and causes this issue.. This is my 9th vehicle and I have NEVER had this issue with any other vehicle. The service department refused to work on my car because it had too many issues in years prior so they dropped it off at a local mechanic to fix. Recommending a rotor that they have already tried before. Great Customer Service Guys!! This is my 3rd Honda and after this treatment I will never buy another Honda nor would I recommend one especially an Odyssey to anyone. Buyers beware!! Yesterday 01/24/15 I talked with Chris O'Connell BDC Manager of Sales. I Told him there is a Honda Odyssey at the Serramonte Honda Dealership that I would like to see. He said no problem I will have one of my guys go to Serramonte and drive it to our Soquel Dealership. I said that would be great and he asked what time I would like to meet, we open at 11:00am. I said 12:00Pm. A couple of hours later I called him back and asked how he can just go to another Honda Dealership and take a car to his dealership. We do this all the time. He said we take one of our cars and trade them for the one I want to see. He said many times that we have 1 owner for 30 dealerships so it doesn't matter who sells them. So again I asked him if he would have the car in Soquel at 12:00pm on Sunday 01/25/15. He said yes and I said OK we will be there. We arrived at 11:50AM. He started a long winded prepared speech about financing and finding the right car and so forth. I stopped him and asked him where is the car? He said we can bring the car here if you sign a contract to buy the car. What? You told me yesterday that the car would be here. He said I never said that. I asked him if would buy a car unseen? He did not respond then continued to attempt to persaude us to look at their cars for one we like. At this point I'm so angry I would never buy anything from them. I told him he did not tell the truth. And again he repeated his denial of bringing the car to Soquel. This situation is what is called Bait and Switch which is illegal. I will be contacting the District Attorney Office for Santa Cruz County tomorrow. I suspect this is not the 1st complaint about this person & dealership. He was so adamant about not saying he would have the car brought to this delearship. Should be negative stars. We wasted at least 1/2 a day on this person. Dave B. read more

So we have bought three cars from this dealership since 2012 and today I called and see if they would give me a quote on the crv and the accord, as I was talking to the sales guy he had the balls to tell me that the cars are for local people that live in santa cruz (we live in san jose 20-30 miles away) then he asked for the quote other dealerships gave me. I had a leak from my radiator so I took my Honda to the Honda dealer. These guys charged me $380 to NOT find the problem or fix ANYTHING. The Honda dealer doesn't need your business or care about fixing your car they just want to tell you it's dead so you will trade it in and buy a new car from them. I got the problem fixed in thirty minutes for $15 over at Chandler Automotive, a great group of mechanics who need your business and actually care about fixing your car. Been looking for a Honda Odyssey for awhile now. The internet showed ocean honda had two 2011 EX-L. They said to come down and look at them. Went down and they couldnt find the keys for one of them and then I test drove the other and they wrote up the numbers and I declined because the black one was more affordable. I came back to find out that the black one disappeared, and they had us take the grey one home and they would have a better offer when we came back the next day. We drive all the way back the next day to find out that the grey one had been sold before they tried to sell it to me. They helped me to look for a different around and offered to ship here for me to purchase. then t he black one then suddenly reappeared that weekend, and they said they needed 2 days to fix it up to get certified, they threatened to sell it to someone else if I didnt buy it before they fixed it up. 3 days later still no call, so I went to different honda and got all that ocean honda would not give me, so i made the purchase. the next day I received rude comments from ocean honda to never come back again. read more

Not one to usually post reviews but the customer service I received here was fantastic. I work at a local company that deals with roof racks all the time. I needed a rack for an older pilot and I needed it fast. I called Ocean Honda because they were the closest and I'm so pleased I did. The phone was promptly answered by a very nice man named Jamie Calame. I had most the info for the car I needed the rack for and we were quickly able to find what sounded like the right piece. Just to be sure though he stayed on the phone with me and sent me the rack photos and specs he had and let me send him the photos I had to be sure we were on the same page. Once we had that figured out we placed the order and to my amazement he told me the part would be in the following morning! Instead of dealing with a faceless amazon and waiting for shipping I was talked through the process and reassured I was making the right choice by someone local and super helpful. Oh and did I mention the part was there at 8am the following morning which made my life so much easier. So all and all a wonderful experience and just had to share cause I'll be going back! Ocean Honda needs some serious training on customer service and etiquette. Initially, the salesman, Rodney, was very polite and helpful. I later realized it was only because I had planned to buy within the week. I went in knowing EXACTLY what I wanted and was clear that I would make no exceptions in what I wanted. He and the sales manager acted like they would take care of everything and that they would definitely be able to get me the deal I was looking for. I am not an idiot and know that there would be some negotiating, which I was fine with. BUT, when the owner came to speak to me, he treated me as if I was a complete idiot. I don't know if he comes from a place of male privilege but he sure did come in contact with the wrong female. He tried to get me to lease rather than buy and then laughed at me when I told him I was not interested. He began to explain the benefits of leasing in a very condescending tone and was, quite frankly, disrespectful. I explained that I work in a different profession but that I deal with people everyday and that I do not conduct business in that manner. Overall, THE OWNER OF ALL PEOPLE was a complete jerk who I believe suffers in erectile disfunction. I took my business to Sam Linder Honda in Salinas and they treated me with the upmost respect! No wonder everyone recommended me to them! My advice is to think twice before going to Ocean Honda....they are scumbags. I came in to have my seat belt tensioner replaced today after waiting more than two weeks for the part to come in and get an appointment. I bring in the car at 8:30am only to be told the car won't be done until 3pm. Okay. So at 1:30pm I call to make sure the car will be done at 3 because I have class at UCSC at night and I was informed my car had "just gone up" and would for sure be done at 3. So I come in at three to find out not only is my car not done, but they had ordered the wrong part. Somehow they ordered the part for the passenger side instead of the driver side and it took them two weeks and all day of having possession of my car, and the complete dismantling of my drivers side seatbelt mechanism before they realized this. So after completely wasting a day and being told I'll have to wait for them to order the part, I tell Wayne, my shitty service rep who couldn't order the right part, to let me speak to his manager. The manager, Rich Artelle, opens with "what seems to be the problem" with a fake smile and condescending attitude. So I reply " just the fact your dealership fucked me out of a day of work." Granted, I shouldn't have dropped the f bomb but I was livid. However, he replies like a total baby and tells me if I don't stop using that language he's gonna kick me out. to which I reply "then you shouldn't be a fucking manager." To which he tells me to leave without ever saying sorry or offering to expedite the process of getting my car fixed, or to compensate me for my time lost and mileage driven. I proceeded to call corporate and file a formal complaint about both Wayne and Rich and inform them not only will I never service through honda again, but I'm never going to buy another honda. read more

Going to this dealership was unbelievable. I went to see what sort of used cars were out there, with the intention of buying sometime within the next month or two. I drove up, four salesman were standing out front. They directed me where to park and were practically at my door when I opened it to get out. I explained my reason for being there, that I just wanted to look at the used cars they had to offer. The salesman walked me around showed me one car within my price range then within 2 min of being there, and after being given a history on used cars, I was directed to the new cars. When I finally was able to get a word in edgewise I thanked him and said I thought I had enough information he did his best to get me to go "inside", telling me "you can't leave, you have to come inside, once you are on our property you are my responsibility and you can not leave"! I was recently placed in a position where I was coerced into trading in my honda for a new car. I was called and told by Chris O'Donnell that my soon to be ex husband was threatening to sell my car and the only way I could get out of it would be to trade in my car to get the ex's name off the title. I was clearly frightened and drug three children down to Honda immediately. I was offered further details that my ex had come to Honda two weeks previously and discussed this with another sales rep. I was guaranteed this was about my pilot and not about my ex's car. I was even offered a letter to be written by Chris validating all of this information. I found out that this was all a lie. Chris recently reneged all of these claims relating to my ex and thanked me "for bringing all of this drama into his life." And hung up on me. Sales manager Collin was of no help either, claiming no one forced me to trade in a new car. I would have never traded my car in if I had not been to believe it was going to be sold under my nose. A bad experience with the service department, will not be returning. Along with a regular service I asked them to replace the cabin air filter. The heater and fans were working on my drive in to the appointment; I didn't think to make sure they still worked when I picked up my car. Big mistake! The next time I drove the car, no air into the cabin worked -- a/c, defroster, fresh or recirc air, all dead. Took it back to Honda, they did take it in without an appointment, but said it was a dead power transistor, nothing to do with replacing the cabin air filter. I needed the car and paid up. When I got my car back, everything that had been in the glovebox was on the passenger seat! In my mind, they broke the transistor but made me pay for it. They gave me a $25 discount, but I still paid over $200 for a part I am convinced that they broke. Oh -- and I had put THREE MILES on the car between the original repair and discovering the fans didn't work! In fact, both receipts state the same mileage! read more

A complete waste of time! Chris O'Connell, their BDC manager, gave me a quote on the phone but told me he would do better when I came to the dealership. After we arrived, he handed me off to Lucas, a young sales guy who gave me a higher quote than I had received 12 hours before. He told me that there wasn't much he could do and then spent time telling me how dealerships "over the hill" would try to lure me in with deals that would never materialize and told me that they would add on accessories like wheel locks that were useless. I left immediately and made my way back to South Bay Honda. George Sim got the exact car that I wanted, honored the quote that he had provided me (which was over $2K less than Ocean Honda) and was very efficient in getting me through the whole sales process. AND, as I was about to drive off, he handed me a bag with the tool to unlock the wheel locks....they were on the car but he didn't charge me for them! What an amazing sales experience at South Bay Honda! I wish I hadn't wasted my time in Santa Cruz!! read more

My experience SO much different! I'm online looking for some coupons and see the yelp reviews for Ocean Honda. I need to add in my 2 cents to some of the other reviews. My 1999 accord went 302,250 miles thanks EXCLUSIVELY to the guys at Ocean Honda service dep't. The same guys cited negatively in a couple of other reviews..Mr Mosely, Mr Sparks, Mr Osbourne, Mr J.Anthony Osbourne, Ms Croom..all have been TOP NOTCH to me for the past 13 years of accord ownership..oh and before that? A 1988 accord with 284,000 miles on it and again thanks to the wonderful service team at Ocean Honda. 2 cars in 25 years, nearly 600,000 combined miles. Yes, I pay a small premium to service with the dealer, but feel it is more than worth it to have peace of mind while I am on the road (a lot!). I wouldn't go anywhere else AND just bought my next accord from Ocean Honda specifically because of "Mr Mosely, Mr Sparks, Mr Osbourne, Mr J.Anthony Osbourne and Ms Croom" . Always easy to choose a less expensive repair shop "after the fact" but I'm not a mechanic and only have 25 years, nearly 600,000 combined miles to go by. Today I bought a "previously owned" vehicle from Ocean Honda in Soquel and I must say it was the BEST auto buying experience of my life! Over the last 40+ years I have purchased a lot of cars and have always hated the car buying experience. Many times I felt as though I did not get the best deal I could have. But the experience at Ocean Honda was a complete surprise. Everyone I dealt with from the salesman Lucas, the floor manager Joe, Kali in the financial office and John the General Manager was fabulous. It felt as though each and every one of them wanted me to be completely satisfied. There was never any pressure to purchase the car I was interested in, it felt as though they actually wanted me to have the right car for me! I felt like I was offered the car at a fair price, and they offered me a fair price for my trade-in. As I was completing the paperwork with Kali, Lucas took my car to the back to get the final detail work done and gas added. After I completed all of the paperwork and was transferring everything out of my old car into the new one, I noticed my new car was missing the driver's floor mat. They were under no obligation to help me find a solution to what was now my problem, but my salesperson, Lucas went above and beyond and found out he could offer to get me the floor mats from another dealership at cost. I was very appreciative for the extra effort. He could have easily just told me I would have to go to the other dealership & purchase them myself. Later, when I brought my pink slip back I was waiting for Kali in the financial office, I was looking at the cars on the showroom floor and a very nice man asked if I needed help, I said no I had just purchased a car. During our conversation I told him how much Lucas had done for me, especially with the floor mat situation, he said, "the car should have floor mats, we'll get them at NO cost to you". His name was John Monteleone and he was the general manager. Let me just say again, this was after the deal was done and I was happy with the solution I had been presented with, but he went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed. What a GREAT experience! Great people, great place and I am looking forward to going back to them for my next car and referring all of my friends and family to them. Just one more thing, as I was telling a couple of friends of mine about my experience they said they had the same sort of experience when they purchased their cars and trucks from Ocean Honda. Made an appointment with sales manager Chris to "get pricing" on a used car and test drive. I had figured this would be great as I had my 10 month old daughter with me. They could give me the price of this used car And determine what trade in amount they could give me on my car. I didn't permit These guys to run my credit limitless times. These a holes had me wait for an hour plus while they apparently ran my credit 5 different times and said they were appraising my car. No appraisal was done. They didn't take the time to show me the used car I asked about or provide me with a purchase price. These guys are just sharks. They don't care about your time or you as a person at all!!! Chris who I had made the appointment with didn't even help me but made me wait in the lobby for 10 min just to tell me Steve would "help" me. Big fat waste of time and very disrespectful thing to do to someone who purchases 2 autos from this dealer and referred business to you. They said they'd call me with numbers on my car never did. Don't go to these guys. They treat you like you ARE your credit score and not a person. Service Dept. I made an appointment to have my oil changed so when I dropped my car off I was surprised to hear that it would be an hour before my car was ready - granted, there was a recall that required a software update. The gentleman who checked me in told me he'd call me when the vehicle was ready. It's now been almost 2 hours and the car is still not ready and no call. It's a shame because I had a very positive experience buying the car here. What's the point of having an appointment if you have to wait 2 hours for an oil change? After 2 hours I ask about the status of my car and the cashier tells me she'll have someone named Dustin check on it. After 20 more minutes and no word from Dustin so I go back and ask her if Dustin is ok. She's surprised because not only has it been 20 minutes but Dustin is sitting at his desk doing something that is not checking on my car. She asks him what's going on and he starts huffing and puffing about not being able to find the car or paperwork. I guess he thought the solution was to forget about it while the person who pays his salary waits. Anyway, she gets the service manager, Alex, who's at a desk where, as it happens, my paperwork is sitting. So Alex comes over and apologizes and, quite graciously, waives the cost of the oil change and has my car brought up. I'm just not sure if I'll go back but I think I will give them one more try. I hope I don't regret it. read more

I have dealt with Ocean Honda twice. 1st time for a major repair, I used a credit card over the phone and arranged to pick up car and receipt late after Service Dept closed. I had a spare remote/key and told them to hide the keys and receipt inside the car in a specific location. They were not there and I spent a lot of time tracking down anyone who could find my keys and receipt. The Svc. Dept had not followed my plan and had given everything to a salesman. It is not uncommon to make arrangements like this. They should have followed my plan as they had agreed plus they should have already had a late night pickup plan to suggest and fall back on. 2nd time was for a simple oil change. After I picked up the car and got home I noticed they had replaced my license plate frame with their Ocean Honda frame without mentioning anything. I did not buy the car from them. They only replaced 3 of 4 screws and only replaced the front plate frame leaving the back with the original so I had mismatched frames. I've taken my car to several other dealerships and never had the frames replaced like this. It was a scumbag move. The 1st event was a forgivable miscommunication but the 2nd event was unprofessional and disgraceful. I would not recommend doing business with Ocean Honda for anything. read more

And I thought Toyota Santa Cruz was bad! By the time I get the suspension repaired correctly, it will be probably be my 4th (3rd time already) visit. Like most dealerships, attention-to-detail is not their specialty (lot's of smiles at the counter) when it comes to simple tasks. (FYI) If you have extended warranty, please let the service advisor know this because it is not posted on their computer data. Back to the drama...the lead technician recommended a new rear shock ($520.00) after the test drive (waited a few days for parts)...finally worked out a weekday to drop off car, kids, and get car back in time to pick kids up from school. Not the case...never got the call from service dept. that the car was done, had to pick up kids on bikes, rode to dealership with kids, drove off thinking car was fixed....same loud obnoxious metal on metal noise!!!! Did they test drive the car? No! Did they answer the phone (3 times)...only voice mail! Horrible day gone bad, wasted, and now back to the same crap service...4th time a charm? Horrible experience! After talking to Chris in sales and quoting a price for 2011 honda pilot and setting up a test drive ( 2 hour round trip)I walked into the dealership, I was told Chris was busy so Jeff would help me out. I filled Jeff in so he could pick up where Chris left off. He begin by talking in Spanish explaining his Spanish is not so good... Ok I get it I'm Mexican but hmmm didnt I speak to you in English. This should have been the clue to walk away but Im here for business so I see what he has to offer. When I told him the price Chris quoted me he laughed and said for that money he could put me in a 2006 model. He didn't bother showing me any cars instead said go buy the car somewhere else I guess when yo walk in to a dealership these days with $12000 in pocket for a down payment no one wants your business. I will be calling corporate to complain my advice go to Sam Linder Honda in Salinas they have great customer service and will let you test drive a car no problem. read more

"Bait And Switch" loyal customer since 2011. The BDC Manager send me an email stating he could get me in a 2013 Accord for $389.00 per month,which is cheaper than my current $423 monthly payment. 4 emails and 2 phone calls confirmed the payment. Arrived at the dealership and the manager passes me off to a salesman. Take a test drive and then work on signing the contract. I was presented $485 per month!! not the $389 that we had talked about. The $389 was for a lease!! Never ever have I lease a car in my 55 years..Something has changed at Ocean Honda and not for the better!!! Owner offered to give me a free tank of gas. After wasting my time (4)hours I don't think a tank a gas is going to smooth this out. I felt like I was at a car dealership from over the hill.. A good manager will " walk the talk" and a good organization will make sure of that. In other words: Be true to your word and complete the deal as agreed upon...OH I forgot-wasted my time trying to convince that a lease cost the same as a purchase even though I drive more than 14K per year. Ran the numbers and it would cost me $3K more !!! to lease...OH-asked me if I new a financial adviser.... With the bull he was throwing, I would have needed a math professor..CAREFUL...Not the same Ocean Honda.. read more

Recently took my 2004 Civic in to have 2 dashboard illumination lights replaced and the front passenger auto door lock fixed. Was told the dashboard lights only come on when the a/c is on. I didn't even bother arguing. I just took a picture of the remaining light that still worked at 5 in the morning when it was dark and showed it to the service rep when I brought the car back to have the part installed on my door. Was called 6 hours later and told they "broke some plastic and would have to order that part to install the door lock. When I asked if the lights were fixed I was told they were. THEY WEREN'T, It's now trip #3 and when the service rep came out to my car I told him the lights weren't fixed he tells me again they only light up when the a/c is on. I'm livid by now, so the service mgr shows up and is more patronizing than the service rep. He tells me he has a car just like mine on the lot and he's going to check in that car to make sure those lights are supposed to illuminate before he sends his guys on a wild goose chase. May I mention I'm a woman and there's no way he would have treated my husband this way? And oh, BTW....I told him to check his service record because I had the same light bulbs replaced at Ocean in 2011!!! He didn't do it. Later that afternoon I get a call my car is ready and yes, they replaced the burned out bulbs. My oh my. Did I get an apology. Hell No! First off this is my first review ive ever felt compelled to write! Horrible two thumbs down! Geneal Manager was totaly rude to my sweet mom...we showed up totaly ready to make a deal with 5k cash and a written letter of preaproval from her bank, great credit, great job she works across the street (dream customer)and her and the gm have a mutual friend which they talked about for a min. Then the gm got all pissy, when we showed him the add for the fj landcruiser they had advertised on line and asked why that price want the jumping off point for negotiation, cuz they were starting out way higher! He threw his arms up and got all huffy..."thats not how we do buisness" he hadnt even heard an offer from us yet...Then he tried to tell us " i have the greatest reputaion" and bla bla bla as he stormed off mumbling. NEVER GO THERE! our sales guy seemed nice enough but his hands are tied, gm desides the price and we never got that far anyway. Poor sales guys cant seal a deal because the gm has a short man complex! Bummer hard to pay your bills with no sales...heard bad things before we went just figures it was an issolated incidence. If you have lots of $ and time to waste and want to fund total a hole this is the place for you! We were just trying to keep the $ local,but oh well... read more

Go elsewhere when you want to purchase a car from Honda or want information about them I'd suggest due to my experiences with this dealership this year and most recently yesterday. Earlier this year in March I went to Ocean Honda in hopes of purchasing a Honda Civic after first making a call to the dealership. Didn't tell the salesman how I would be paying for it as I was still unsure myself. Promptly shown a car by an older salesman with whom I had a pleasant experience until he just left me and did not return. I watched him and he wasn't on the phone or with another customer, but just talking to another employee who was seated at a desk in the middle of the dealership. After about 10 minutes I just left. I came back the next day had a brief discussion about the Honda Civic with a younger guy with a foreign accent. I mentioned I had been there the day before. He seemed eager to help me in every way. I told him I would call him and that I was also checking other dealerships for the best deal. I called him back the next day and made him aware I wasn't interested in paying the posted price and to check on a price reduction with management. After being on hold briefly he came back and told me he had been informed that he had been told the Civics sell so well Ocean Honda is not willing to sell them at a reduced price. Frustrated I branched out and did purchase a new 2016 Touring model of a Honda Civic from Norm Reeves a dealership with one of the highest ratings on various websites. Today, I called Ocean Honda to ask where the CD player was located. I spoke with Chris O'Connell. He wanted to know where I purchased my Honda and why I didn't purchase the auto from Ocean Honda. After I responded briefly to his questions he told me to come to Ocean Honda so he could show me where it was located. I asked if he was sure my Civic even had a CD player and he stated it did. I showed up to the store later and requested to see a salesperson. The salesperson who was quite pleasant wanted to know how he could help me. He showed me that there was no CD changer in the Honda Civics and went into details about which cars did have one. I asked him why Chris had told me to come to Ocean Honda to be shown where the CD player was located. It was then that he started making excuses for Chris' misinformation. I followed him to where Chris was located. Chris made no apologies and acted as if he was surprised by the salesman telling him the Civic had no CD changer. Who does that. What kind of person sends a Honda owner on a wild goose chase-Chris O'Connell. What a jerk in my opinion. read more
