This place is a total and utter dive. Reserved an ocean view balcony room based on website photos. Didn't mind paying a bit more for what we thought was a nice room. Got there and checked in. Started getting a little worried on the way to our room when we noticed paint chipping off the walls and the ceiling peeling and hanging down. Told ourselves it was probably just high traffic areas that look like that. Nope. Got to our room and the entire room was trashed. Doors were chipped in multiple places. Bathroom floor was cracked out all over the place with multiple chips missing. Paint was scratched or warped throughout the room. Countertops were chipped in multiple places. Got to our back balcony and could barely get the door open because there was so much water coming in it had flooded the track. Corners of walls coming off. The back balcony was covered in moss, could easily be swept and cleaned, but no effort was made. Couldn't even get out there without tracking it all back in so we didn't bother. Noticed the ceiling out there was missing in parts. We had already paid and just decided to make the best of it but when I sat down on the love seat it was so badly worn it caved in the middle. About that time my daughter came out of the bathroom saying the toilet was leaking. Sure enough when you flush it it sprays water out. That was enough for us. Tried to talk to the lady at the front desk, she acted surprised and asked which room. (Now having read some of these other reviews, I dont know why she was surprised). I told her which one and stated that we'd not be staying in that room as is. She said no refunds. We'd only been there 5 minutes and it was not what had been advertised. Didn't offer any solutions. Not a better kept room, a discount, send housekeeping in to at LEAST sweep off the balcony, nothing. Asked to speak to a manager, she said there was no manager on site, he'd already gone home. I asked if there was a way I could get a hold of him, she said no. So I decided to check out and I asked if she could at least have him call me, she told me yes but it's been 24 hours and I've heard from no one. This place is a total sham. If you're going to offer crack house rooms, then only charge crack house prices. At least put some effort in. I work in construction and a lot of these issues could be addressed with simple maintenance and care. At least offer clean spaces. There are too many other options in the area that offer more for the same or less. We have a way nicer room at the Shilo for the same price. Avoid this place at all costs! read more

We stayed for two nights 2/25-2/27/25. Our room was easy to access from an outside door and was also close to the breakfast area and pool. The access door from outside had garbage in the area, same thing the whole time that we were there. Tells me nobody goes through the parking lot often to clean up. No complaints on our room. Bed was not very comfortable, almost too soft but I figure that is a personal preference. I did notice that there were very few clean towels for use at the pool/medium warm hot tub. Hot tub temperature was more like the temperature of a pool. Sadly we were very disappointed with the breakfast. There were waffle makers and cold cereal. The bread for toast was a little stale. I was very disappointed no pastries, not even individually wrapped ones and also no fruit what so ever. And of course no eggs, bacon, sausage, things like that. We were told it was a full continental breakfast and that Definately was not true. We came during the week and I am wondering if there is better service on weekends. Will we come back? I booked this place on a busy weekend mostly based on there being not much else available. It was more than I prefer to pay for what you get, but did include breakfast. The pictures online look a lot nicer than the actual reality, but the room was clean and our stay was pleasant enough. I was impressed originally that there was free mini golf available and that the pool would be open without special covid restrictions. Our room was located in the back by the pool. There is parking closer to this entrance, but this was full when we attempted to utilize it. The pool was always full and overflowing with children. It would be awesome if they allowed some adult only hours. It was too crowded for us to check out and may be a bit loud if you are concerned about things like that. We did utilize the mini golf, it was a nice quick activity, but the course was a little wonky with uphill holes, etc. This could be a fun activity for kids to partake in while you enjoy a drink in the courtyard, but this course is not comparable to most pay mini golf courses. The highlight of the hotel is the breakfast. I really love any place that has hot breakfast items as part of their free meal. I enjoyed the hashbrown patties, coffee and apple juice. My partner is more of a breakfast person and seemed to enjoy his full meal. This place does look a little run down, I assume it has had a recent name change, but really don't know much about it's history. It is walking distance to multiple places nearby. I love that it is close to Ocean Pours Taproom located right nextdoor. I don't think I'd stay here again at this price point, but might consider it if nothing else was available or if the rate was closer to 100$. read more

I am 43 years old and this is the first time in my life I have ever taken the time to write a negative review. For the price, and based on the overall rating of this hotel, I wasn't expecting much and honestly the two rooms were decent, clean enough, and quiet. They were a bit run down and obviously there wasn't upkeep happening, with the slider not opening properly, a lamp with a dangling lightbulb housing and damaged bathroom door. We needed to ask for sheets for the pull out sofa since there were none in the room and had to go the lobby to retrieve them. Again, none of this was particularly surprising considering the ratings and the price compared to other Ocean Shores listings. They offer free breakfast and the kitchen/dining areas were decent enough. The breakfast staff worked to keep the area clean and food replenished. The reason for my negative review is the health hazards I encountered over our four day/three night stay. The first issue I had was with the bathroom near the breakfast area. Anyone wanting to use the facilities during breakfast would use this toilet as it was five feet from the dining area. It had an empty soap dispenser for the entirety of our stay. Someone had placed a bar of hotel soap set on the counter for everyone to use. There was also a partially used mini hotel shampoo bottle there. There was an ever growing pile of paper towels on the counter under the paper towel dispenser that no one took care of. The pool area was my greatest area of concern. There was zero general cleaning or disposal of garbage in the pool area or pool bathroom for the entirety of our stay. There was Capris sun garbage near the spa and spilled pistachios on the ground near the pool from Friday morning until we left Sunday afternoon. The water in the pool was so cloudy that you couldn't see the bottom of the pool. The spa was cloudy and the water brown. Friday it was a bit gross but we went in. Saturday it was so gross that I forbade my daughter from going in. Sunday morning the spa did look clear again but the pool water was still extremely milky. The bathroom in the pool area was gross. There were bathing suit tags on the counter all three days, showing no staff had cleaned the restroom. The floor of the pool bathroom and pool area had clearly not been swept in a long time with debris all over the place. This bathroom didn't even have a soap dispenser, but instead had an old soggy bar of hotel soap. There was NO toilet paper so when my five year old pooped in the pool bathroom Friday morning I had to leave her in there by herself on the toilet with the door unlocked to go down the hall to the bathroom outside of the dining area to get her toilet paper. There was still no toilet paper in the pool bathroom when we left Sunday. On Saturday morning there were no pool towels in the pool area so multiple families went to the front desk to get some. When more clean towels were brought in later, the clean towels were carted in inside the same bin where swimmers are supposed to deposit their dirty towels when finished swimming/drying off. The bin is also visibly dirty/dusty inside. It should be common sense that it's unsanitary to put clean towels in a bin that normally holds dirty towels. There are serious management issues at Ocean Paradise. If you're wanting to stay somewhere with a pool that you feel comfortable letting your kids use, I would recommend paying more to stay elsewhere. read more

I want to start off by saying Jamie is absolutely amazing! If every employee at every hotel can be like her that would be great! She needs a raise and I'm so serious! My husband and I were in town at another hotel for two days escaping the kids and trying to just have some time together. We decided to stay one more day but wanted to make our last night there just a relaxing night so I told him we should look around for a jacuzzi suite. This hotel came up when we searched and so he called and Jamie answered, she was amazing! Booked us a room quickly and was so kind! We were excited so the next day we left the hotel we were at and went right over to this hotel where Jamie was there again. She checked us right in, again super quickly, got us right into the room we booked (EARLY!!) and it was so nice since we wanted to relax. Breakfast was still happening when we got there and she said to make sure we got something to eat if we wanted, so we went in there to check it out and guest had left messes all over so my husband and I went in and cleaned up the whole dining room and restocked things that needed to be restocked to help her out. They are short staffed right now so she's the only one doing everything! So we wanted to help any way we could, so we cleaned up, my husband went and picked up a fence that had fallen down due to the winds the night before, and we just did what we could to make her job a little easier. The stay was great! I will say, this hotel needs to be updated, the lobby is gorgeous and I'm really hoping they plan to upgrade the entire hotel as it really does need it, but overall we had a great time and couldn't thank Jamie enough for making it so easy, she was chill, and just easy going. Nice room with a view. Overall decent hotel as it has a pool, hot tub, and small mini golf course. Pool was a little crowded, not heated, and they ran out of pool towels. We called front desk to get towels but no one ever came. We also called several times for more blankets but they never came either. We didn't even get a call back saying they were out. Finally after the 3rd time of calling they brought us blankets fresh out of the dryer, nice and warm right before bed! Breakfast was good and had a variety of food but it was busy as well. read more

The front desk said at least it's not leaking into the room however, getting cut by expose fiberglass is going to be sending me to a Clinic We watched a lady fall into the hot tub because the handrail for safety wasn't even connected correctly. I don't know if they have a maintenance person here, but if they do, they may need to look into hiring someone differently I would not recommend this hotel for anyone let alone any parents. I even offered to pay the difference for a different room, less beds Whatever I needed to however all the rooms seem to be down due to maintenance. We had a great time! The staff and hotel were wonderful. You could not ask for nicer or more helpful staff! They had it all decorated for Fall/Halloween. Everything was clean and tidy. Nice indoor pool & hot tub! You get a free round of Putt Putt Golf! The course is located in the center of the buildings, out of the wind! We were on the 3rd floor and had a great view of the ocean. We had two nice soft topped queen beds, a table with chairs, chain and foot stool, hide a bed couch, a balcony with two chairs, MW, refrigerator, coffee maker, lamps, bug TV, USB ports... Our room must have been soundproofed, we heard nothing, the place was full! There are boardgames and books to barrow. Upgraded Wifi! In the morning a doe and her fawn were walking along the backside browsing the brush, so lovely to see up close! The Breakfast was so nice; mountains of pastries/muffins, toaster muffins, jam, cereal, coffee, juice, eggs, biscuits, gravy, hashbrowns, bacon, sausage links, you-make-waffles, yogurt.... If you have access to ANY other accommodations in Ocean Shores, do it. Sadly after we got the last room available I checked the reviews from the recent past, and many mentioned the garbage and trash all around the grounds...and some of the specifics - like empty capri sun drink pouches - and they we still there...Also empty plastic pop bottles and an incredible amount of cigarette butts (on a no smoking property!) still littered around the place. we called and got the last room at this place, and they charged us rack rate (it's way less money if you book online!) so the pain was even deeper paying an average of $300/night for a dump! (Had no idea the way to 'do" OS is in an Air BnB or VRBO!) after 2 delays of more than an hour and a half to get into our room, first thing was the trip through the halls (which are beat to h*ll with holes and dings everywhere) to the elevator. Get to the room and first thing we see the carpet is disgusting! Greasy - dirty - sticky (do not go barefoot in there!) Checked the bathroom: fairly clean-ish. The shower curtain had apparently been torn down multiple times so with the most recent installation (all the patches are there - unpainted joint compound globs left on the walls) - you can't open the bathroom door all the way as it bangs into the curtain rod that is hung too high and too far outside the tub surround so if you're' not careful you'll flood the bathroom. Fan sounded like woodchipper, and the drain stopper was not installed, just an open hole on the tub. There is little mini fridge - totally caked with ice so the freezer compartment wouldn't close which impacted the temp (even at warmest setting)- and it froze everything. The bed, sheets and teeny pillows were ok, and I did not see of have evidence of bed bugs so there's that. Thin tiny towels. Spared myself the agony and just assumed the bed covers had been well used. The slider to the balcony wouldn't slide open or closed, without 2 people working on it, and the screen came off the track immediately. Internet never worked, and when I asked will the internet be available at all? I was told "I don't know" How about the extra charges on my CC? "I don't know - talk to the manager" How seriously do you take your reviews? "I don't know -I'm not a manager" The stairwell was so gross we couldn't use it - dead fish or whatever - absolutely vile odor. And as for a 100% pet free place? Yeah no - we saw TWO dogs, one on the carpet in the 3rd floor hall waiting for the elevator; the other being loaded in the person's rig. Didn't use the pool - Chlorine odor too strong. The ocean view was awesome - the best thing about the room. And its location. 1 block from convention center. TL:DR: Ocean Paradise is a dump. Avoid. Rent a VRBO! read more

I did not receive a secure room, I had three guests walk in on me in my underwear, my key cards were deactivated, the room was not clean (had garbage and a diaper left over in it), we did not have enough towels and were told there were no more (same with pool towels, there were none available), and the water was shut off for hours with no notice and my three young children were shivering waiting to shower after being at the ocean and the water was off for hours. They also did not keep up other amenities and one of the staff had awful service. I was so thankful for the kindness of Jamie that came over from Bay Vue hotel to talk to me (she should honestly be the manager at this place as I've stayed her many times and it's just gone SO DOWNHILL since it switched management twice over the last year or so.) The manager Adriana didn't even have time to talk to me about it and was less than helpful. I may never stay there again. This was a nightmare and it was the only trip I was taking with my kids to a hotel this summer so it's unfortunate this hotel really couldn't get it together or compensate me for two nights of near hell with them and sun-par service. We found bed bugs in both of our rooms under the mattress and the headboards. We immediately checked out. We had the front office manager come to the rooms to inspect for himself. This place was a disappointment. It is clean, with an attractive lobby, an indoor pool, and a put-put golf course in the courtyard. It's getting old, and needs a refresh. Also, the woman at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was reasonable. It included fresh fruit, yogurt, waffles, two meats, scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, biscuits/gravy, and the usual assortment of beverages and cereals, but no oatmeal. On the negative side, the Wi-Fi is horrible. I consistently had 0.16 MbPS -- barely above dial-up speed, though uploads were around 2.0. We had no hot water for our room. The front desk admitted that they had been having problems with some rooms, but that didn't stop them from renting to us. There are no blankets for the beds, just sheets and a bedspread. We had one hand towel and one bath towel for the room. I received the remainder from the front desk. Overall, there are better choices in the area for our next visit. read more

We stayed at this hotel for 3 days following the 4th of July. Initially, we had a standard king room with an inner-courtyard view. I decided to upgrade to a king room with an ocean view for an extra $70 per night. Had I known that the ocean was at least a quarter mile away and only visible on the clearest of days, I would have passed. We had grey skies most of the time so seeing the ocean or sunsets just didnt happen. At first glance, the place looks really nice, especially the lobby. As you start to look more closely, you see that it is a bit run down. Holes in the walls, cracks in the walls, screens missing on the windows and balcony door for starters. There is a pool and a hot tub on site. The pool looked like a dog had been swimming in it with a ton of short hairs and other floaties on the surface. The hot tub water was algae-green and looked disgusting. To be fair, when I went to take a picture the next morning, it looked 100% better. They serve breakfast which is good though basic. Eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits and gravy, a waffle iron, various juices and coffee, cereal and pastries. The ice maker didnt work on our floor. This was a drag. There is a refridgerator in the room so it was not that big a deal. The bed was very firm and not very comfortable. The television has the same stupid service you see at many hotels. Very limited channels. Difficult to navigate. Almost not worth watching. The inner courtyard consists of a run down mini golf course. Was going to play it but didnt get around to it. This is what the courtyard view is. Upon arriving, I went to check in. This was at 4:30pm. I had 1 person in front of me and it took 35 minutes to get checked in. There were 3 ladies at the desk, only one of whom had any idea what to do. They didn't know which rooms had been cleaned. One of the other ladies had to go visually check each room to see it they had been cleaned. I was told the reason things werent going smoothly was because they were getting new management and the current management couldnt be contacted. The staff were all very nice and polite. read more

Front desk really didn't show much concern and we never received apologies for the traumatic experience. 3am and we're bagging up our belongings into trash bags. We moved to a smaller room and had to take hot showers to make sure bugs were not on our bodies or hair as the tiny red bugs were on our pillows crawling around. Horrible experience. Not even worth the one star. This place I booked from bookings.com and everything I read was good. This was not Ocean Paradise Hotel & Resort it is a quality inn. So that was a red flag. The hotel was gross. Food left in the room in the patio and the sliding door didn't lock. We were going to stay the night and check out in the morning because we have children but then I was getting ready for bed and ended up stepping in who knows what. God if I could give this zero I would. This place is the most expensive crack house you could stay in. The lobby is redone beautifully to set the mood for a great experience, then they send you out back to the ghetto side doors that have holes kicked through them and into a hallway covered in mold and things that look like a crime scene. The ice machine has be "temporarily down" for several months. The wifi and tv is also "down", when you walk up to the "beach view room" you get in to what looks like your grandmothers basement room that's damp and stinks, the shower was cracked and leaking, there was hair all over the bathroom, the porch was all mossy and disgusting, oh and just to make things worse there are sharp loose staples sticking out of several of the walls. They post this hotel as no refundable so just don't even go there. Now trying to get a refund from the third party site we booked through and no luck, $166 for the room with the "jetted tub" it doesn't exist anymore! We had booked a king bed (mom, dad and baby) and when we got there they gave our room away to another person with the same first name. They didn't have any more kings so offered two doubles. Not happy about it but we already drove over 2 hours to get there. We had to push the beds together so we could have our baby's play pen set up. When we did that we discovered black mold on the floor. Went into the bathroom and there was mold in the caulking. Also the door lock was broke. We spent 2 hours trying to find a different place to stay. Finally found one (paying double). They knew we were leaving because of everything. They stated they could not give a refund only the manager can do that. I called hotel.com and they sent an email asking to authorize the refund. It is over a week later and still no refund. I had to do a charge back on my credit card. I have already spent over an hour with hotels.com trying to get it rectified. They called the hotel again and of course the manger was not in. The worst experience at a hotel (more like motel), ever! Stayed fri/sat, the parking lot gets full and there is absolutely nowhere to park! My brothers car was keyed badly and had the mirror and gas hatch damaged intentionally for squeezing into a spot next to a truck. The police said they couldn't see what happened because the quality of the parking lot video is poor. Absolutely ridiculous! Really put a damper on the whole trip! If I didn't book through Hotwire hot rate I would have never stayed at this disgusting motel. It smells really bad in the hallway and we had to wipe down the whole room with disinfectant before touching anything. The sheets and pillowcases are yellow, the toilet got clogged, my toddler slipped in the tub that has no grip whatsoever and busted his lip, there is no floor towels provided but a sign that's taped to the wall saying "you'll be charged for any missing or damaged towels, you only get two bath towels even in a room with two beds that sleeps 4, you have to return the used towels to the front desk to get two more, the bathroom floor floods because the water pours right through the shower curtain. I also hit my ankle in a piece of wood hanging out from under the bed. Didn't even try to go to breakfast because it ends at 9:00AM! On the weekend! Won't be back and hope we don't bring home bedbugs urgh!! read more

This older is a bit older but in our opinion that adds to the charm. It was very clean and beds were decent. We stayed in an Oceanview balcony. As soon as we came inside we could see five deer in front of our balcony view. The location is perfect. Walking distance to pizza, sushi, subway, McDonald's, Sharkey's, a toy store , an ice cream shop. Even Copalis Beach is right there. The pool and hot tub were open. We had a real hot breakfast and the putt putt golf was cute . The staff were friendly and really seemed motivated to help. What a pleasure to visit and we will be back. The love driving on this beach and there was a beautiful bald eagle at sunset. Amazing !! Thank you for a marvelous stay. read more

100 percent false advertising for this "resort." The only thing that isn't a lie is the breakfast. The lobby is remodeled to give a false sense of security and cleanliness when you pay. Then you get sent around back to the ghetto entry with kicked in doors, holes in the walls, mold growing on the outside walls and balconies. The doors are propped open with over flowing trash cans including dirty diapers left on the ground and not picked up the whole time we were there (two nights.) broken windows, broken lights in the hallway and dirty old sign on ice machine saying it was temporarily out is service. Rooms are circa 1991, including the microwave. No shower curtain liner, no mattress cover on pull out couch which was so dilapidated it couldn't be used as a couch. Plaster around the shower head was broken and crumbling, the phone to the lobby was broken and definitely not deep cleaned. Seriously the rooms are gross, it's loud and smells old. I feel grateful we didn't get shot or robbed tbh. Do not under any circumstances fall for their advertising. This is a 1 star hotel for the same reason it's dark at a strip club. You don't want to see what is actually on display if the lights are one. Literally the only reason we give two stars is because we didn't die and they didn't lie about the breakfasts, which was served in the only other clean and modern area of the "resort." It also depends on who is in charge of serving the food the day you are there as to whether you will get decent hot food and fresh coffee. If you want to dance with dirty trailer park fancy and ignore the blatant misrepresentation of the establishment, by all means, reserve your room now. Otherwise, move on up the road and check the parking lots for people living there in their cars before committing. read more

The Rooms were great. Clean and Comfortable. We had all ocean view and it was great. I know that businesses are trying hard to do their best during Covid, however this Hotel, though 5 stars in the room department, they truly fail the social distancing aspect of common areas. Start with the pool and soda it's not huge, so during min Covid times, 10- 15 ppl in that area would be busy. Well, they're was not only that many but more. There are no limit signs, also, you don't need a room key to get in, so anyone can invite friends/ family to it..or walk off the street. This seemed like a pool party for a huge family. I couldn't let my grandson swim, and it was disappointing. I told the manager and, she just responded with- Thanks for letting me know but what skunks I do? WTF? Finally, the free breakfast. I saw families of 6-9 people pile in there along with other patrons..packed! Again, no key card to get breakfast. So..if you don't care about Covid- this is your place. If you do, find another. read more
