After investing significant money into our home, we've been left dealing with serious issues that continue to be ignored. Recently, they began using explosives for construction because they claim there is too much rock to continue digging. This decision has caused what feel like earthquake-level blasts, resulting in multiple cracks in several homes that are still brand new and that Rowles is not coming to fix. These are not minor cosmetic issues; they are costly and concerning structural problems. Prior to this, there were already various issues throughout the neighborhood. I was patient and understanding, but this situation has gone too far. Residents have raised concerns, yet communication has been extremely poor, and many people feel completely ignored. To make matters worse, there are now plans to build apartments behind homes where buyers specifically paid premiums for lots with open space. Despite strong opposition from residents, it feels like our input does not matter now that the company has already been paid. Rowles is now threatening to sue the city to push the project through. It's incredibly frustrating and disheartening to feel like homeowners are being treated this way after making such a large investment. I strongly encourage others to carefully explore all options before choosing to work with this company.

I happened upon a company that did home renovations. They not only helped us find a place by looking at homes we were considering but did the renovations. Yes, I recommend the company...but this is a thank you to the PEOPLE...Patti and Mike Aleto who continue to check in on us, knowing Mary's health challenges. My grandfather was a contractor but died when I was 1. The stories I hear about him remind me of Mike...wanting to do the job right...continuing on thru struggles (for my family it was keeping a business going through the depression; for the Aleto's through the recession and pandemic). My current Payne home was built 4 years ago. I have had many issues including HVAC trunks not…read morebeing connected, popped seams, etc, but the flatwork on the front porch is obviously defective. Most sections of the driveway, sidewalk, steps are fine. One section of the front porch is crumbling and getting worse with each freeze. The aggregate is poured too high and the skim is only barely covering the aggregate. The skim pops and the aggregate crumbles. Payne says this normal and to use some patch and then stain everything to make it match. It's insulting as anyone who sees this can tell it's just this one botched section that is crumbling. I will not be recommending Payne homes to any future clients.

They brought in other home builders like Fischer Frichtel, Consort and McKelvey homes to build a lovely community of single-family homes including villas, mid level and luxury estates. Then, when Payne sold off their remaining lots, They decide to sell the remaining property to the highest bidder, an apartment developer who wants to build 168 apartment units in the middle of a quiet community. Beware of Payne's plans before you buy.
