I went into the project having no sense of what the cost might be. I worked with Kris as my designer. On her first visit she took some measurements and was able to give me a rough minimum cost. She was very transparent on pricing and the scheduling (at the time I finalized design they were scheduling installations at least 90 days out). I was pretty particular on some of the things I knew I wanted/didn't want. We went through MANY design iterations and Kris was always happy to make the adjustments. She was incredibly knowledgeable and was able to give some great ideas and also quickly identify limitations and things to consider when I was posing ideas. She was also able to give me a good ballpark on cost to make certain changes, which was really helpful in choosing which direction to go. I didn't want lots of adjustable holes to show, so Kris took the time to help me measure out exactly where rods and shelves should be placed. After the long awaited install dates came around, things went pretty quickly. Peter did the install and I can tell he spent time making sure everything was level and installed correctly. The install was scheduled for three days. Things were moving quickly enough that Peter was able to complete the install in just two days (and stayed a little late to get it done that second day). He always made sure to clean up before he left. Kris stopped by both days to make sure things were going as expected. I damaged a piece the first day stepping where I shouldn't have, and Peter was out later the same week to fix it which was faster than I expected! Things to consider - get lots of drawers even though they're pricey. You can never have too many drawers. The upgraded shaker style drawers, gold rods, and crown molding were 100% worth it in my opinion. So was purchasing quality hardware. I purchased my own and gave it to the team to use during fabrication. I also got 24" depth units so the clothes would not extend beyond the wall shelves. Most don't opt for this, but I wanted a really clean look and had the space to do it. Overall I would certainly recommend Closet Factory if you're looking at a closet makeover. I am thrilled with the results and in disbelief that my dream closet is an actual reality! Photos of the before, during, and after completion.

I did get her to come out again, three months ago and said no I apologize. I'll get back to you in a couple of weeks that was three months ago. So I called again last week Tuesday still haven't gotten a response so I guess it's time to move on. Good luck with them if your project isn't worth more than $5000. They're likely not to spend time with you Even if in the past like I did I spent $10,000.

After giving them several of my ideas as far as looks, layout, type of home and genre, I hit them with something I thought was going to scare or detour them from my project...the fact that I'm paralyzed and need a COMPLETELY ACCESSIBLE home! Boy was I wrong! They put me at ease with their knowledge of ADA laws and in describing several past projects they worked on with the same parameters. In a timely manner, they returned back with my DREAM HOME! I was in shock! After just our initial meeting, they drew up plans for something I have always pictured but couldn't put on paper...they did it! I couldn't be any happier with the design they provided. It is a testament to their attention to detail, knowledge and vast experience. After a few SMALL tweaks, we were ready to go. Throughout the building process, Schaub+Srote acted as my general contractor, due to my limited ability. They were at the job site constantly, talking with contractors and overseeing the project was not only done right, but in a timely manner. Throughout the entire build, I was given several updates as to work that was completed and upcoming work to be completed. They were at my disposal, through phone, conference calls, email, texts and even in person. Whenever I wanted to talk to them, they made themselves available. They NEVER made me feel like I was a bother to them or a disruption to their work, but rather a part of my project and the process. Throughout this process, I also worked tirelessly with interior designer, Heather Helms. She had the same level of professionalism, knowledge, experience and pleasant demeanor, as Schaub+Srote. She helped me pick EVERYTHING for my new home and balanced perfectly, the fine line of her knowledge with my tastes. I NEVER once felt she was over reaching or thinking all my ideas were horrible. I felt more like we were a team and she loved my ideas and she helped bring everything together! It is for these reasons I, not only, give Schaub+Srote Architecture Firm five stars, I will ALWAYS consider them family and maintain close contact with each and every one of them!

Pure Home Design literally cured my Drye Eye Disease with their knowledge! Furthermore, I am one of…read morethe only patients to "graduate" from my specialist's practice and not have to end up permanently on Restasis or similar and it is ALL David's knowledge that got me there! I had had Dry Eye Disease ( currently an "uncurable multifactorial" disease) for several years when I first began to work with David and PURE home design. After a trip away from home, I began to suspect that it was my wool carpet (which I thought was natural and was not at all!) that was triggering this issue. David helped me figure out how to test for VOC's in my home (which I wanted to do), and more importantly which wool carpet and pad I could replace my existing product with that was actually fully natural and untreated with formaldehyde and insect repellent ( permethrin). I myself have a background in design but was totally unfamiliar with the products and procedures David told me about. They completely changed my life! They really did! 1 month after I replaced my carpet, I went into the lab to get my cortisol tested (it had been high for years and nothing brought it down that I had tried). It had gone down 4 points to the middle of the normal range! It stayed that way now for 2 years. Additionally, within weeks my eyes began to feel better. When I went for a checkup 3 months later things were improving. When I went for a checkup 1 year later ( having not had to go in or use any additional treatments during that entire time), all my testing was normal and my doctor congratulated me and thanked me for teaching her so very much about her specialty! David is an amazing designer and resource. Super patient in going through multiple issues/considerations and remarkably well resourced and thorough! I have no qualms recommending PURE home design to anyone and feel that everyone should put their health and family first and go with them. Most interior designers have no idea about these types of issues or what products to use to replace the customary ones. There is a lot of "greenwashing" in the industry. If you truly want both a beautiful and healthy home for your family, you have come to the right place. Thank you David!

SKD assisted us in designing our kitchen, ordered our cabinets and supplied us with a lighting…read moreplan. Additionally, SKD gave us some guidance on the selection and layout of flooring materials. We worked long distance, and though they came to do two measures (with us covering their expenses), I acted as general for this kitchen. My kitchen: Our kitchen is small and presented profound challenges. The Beginning: Our kitchen is roughly 10 x 14 and each and every wall has either a door and/or a window. Additionally, the places we could locate ventilation were structurally limited, a fact that anyone who has tried to plan a kitchen knows can cause an inordinate number of complications. We had an area of dead space in the kitchen that was created by the fact the back wall of our kitchen contains a door that goes to a small patio. This was space we very much needed to utilize. Additionally, the only way to maximize our space was to design in two blind, but fully accessible corners and to build in a pull out pantry as the original kitchen contained virtually no pantry space for food storage. A number of kitchen designers looked at it and came in with impractical ideas that made no sense for anyone who actually plans to cook in their kitchen. SKD designers are themselves avid cooks and that experience informed their design suggestions in a way it did not inform others. On our wish list: We wanted a light, bright kitchen that opened to our dining room (thus creating a sense of light and social flow) that was also tailored to me, as a serious cook/baker. Our children are grown and we knew we wanted the Wolf 36" range and Subzero 36" refrigerator freezer. Though I have a lot of kitchen equipment, our taste is modernist, clean, white and warm. Thus while our aesthetic is pristine, we also had to maximize the use of absolutely every square inch of space. This is a tall list. The result: In collaboration with SKD, we designed an open concept kitchen with SKD that met each of our functional, aesthetic, ergonomic and light requirements. The cabinets we ordered through SKD are of upper mid-grade quality--absolutely solid, all wood, finely finished. These custom cabinets are similar in quality I think to Brookhaven (?); far above anything Home Depot offers. They are excellent and they are also wholly appropriate to our home; many designers will try to sell you cabinets that are either better than or of lesser quality than is justified by your home. These cabinets were right on target and they will last many years to come. The cabinet hardware--self-closing, hinges, etc.--also is all top of the line. SKD assisted us in selecting blind corner solutions and we are very pleased. In one corner we used the Hafele Lemans blind corner system (which wasted less space and had better movement, in our opinion, than their Magic Corner system). In the other, SKD thought to set up the cabinet so that it opened from the other side--a great call. All selections were practical, ergonomic and high quality. Beneficially, his cabinet company ordered our blind corner lemans system and built it in so that installation once the cabinets arrived was straightforward. While the cabinets were and have been excellent, I note that we had one extremely small grain fault in an upper cabinet door. This was absolutely no problem: the cabinet company immediately offered to replace at their expense--both shipping and post. The replacement is in process, and we have every confidence they totally stand behind their own product. Our kitchen is beautiful. The lighting plans and material guidance were spot-on.
