I just realized today that I never updated my review after I filed a dispute of charges against Ocean Seven Roofing with my credit card company. A few weeks after Ocean Seven Roofing's request for repayment, my credit card company DENIED THE ENTIRE $450, even though I was willing to give him $100 for his time. My CC company used the email from the owner, Ron, wherein he told me to use the money to buy myself flowers and to see a psychiatrist and consider his time "free of charge"! I set up an appointment to have my roof and skylight repaired about the big storm hit Los Angeles. I gave up my Friday afternoon waiting for the guy to show up - NEVER SHOWED UP. Didn't bother to call, text, nothing = just blew me off! I did call to inquire what had happened, and the guy who answered said " we don't care, we do big commercial buildings " Wow. Okay. I am so happy that I found Ocean Seven Roofing. Before I settled on a roofer I did a search. I had 4 people bid on the job. The first three insisted that I would need to scrape the old roofing materials off before putting a new layer of foam on my roof. The bids were astronomical. Ron suggested pressure washing the old roof, re-priming it and foaming over the remaining good foam. His way saved me over $15,000 from the lowest other bid. The quality is great. Ocean Seven roofing did a great and timely job for us on a commercial project

We had been experiencing quite a lot of little pernicious leaks through our flat duplex roof in Los Feliz. After doing much research on the various types of roofing repairs or replacement options I called Ocean Seven Builders for an estimate. Mr. Mor came within a day and gave us his assessment, sent me a video of these observations and what his recommendations would be to affect a proper and lasting repair. He suggested a foam respray and gave me a bid. The options we explored were from just repairs to the problem areas, to a full tear off and replace using a conventional torch down roof and the foam spray method. Mr. Mor was very forthcoming with the way our roof would be handled, describing every step of the process to our satisfaction and gave us a proposed project start and completion dates. These dates were weather contingent but whenever there was a delay for any reason Mr. Mor communicated with us. There were building specific architectural details that needed to be respected which he acknowledged and was willing to work to make the finished product look as it had before the project's start. Mr. Mor was very communicative during all parts of the project, from going through the work contract in great detail so that we felt comfortable hiring Ocean Seven Building to do the job. Communication is key to all projects and Mr. Mor did not disappoint us in this skill. I'm looking forward to trouble free rainy seasons for years to come. We had a very bad experience with another company that sold us on the idea of composition shingles on our very low pitch roof. The city said no way, so we tried to deal with the roofer, but ultimately cancelled the contract. Ron from Ocean Seven Builders was very friendly and knowledgeable about our roofing needs. We have two buildings right next to each other that we did at the same time. We were looking for foam roof coating to achieve BOTH complete waterproofing AND absolute thermal insulation. We had several areas that previously leaked. One building we only use on occasion, and would turn on the air conditioner as needed. That building used to get terribly hot in the summer, and would take a while for the air conditioning system to cool off the room, because the roof kept on absorbing and radiating heat from the outside. (No insulation in the attic, and new air conditioning system). Ocean Seven Builders had sprayed in place a foam roofing system with a thickness of 1.5 inches of spray foam that immediately hardens to create a walkable waterproof new roof. They then covered the whole roof with two layers of heat reflecting elastomeric waterproof paint with light reflecting granules. A week later, when we had to use the building, we turned on the air conditioner in anticipation of a crowd coming in. 20 minutes later, the room had cooled down to the point that we didn't need to have the air conditioning running any more. We also did two inches thick on our main building that always had the air conditioning system running, and that system has been running much less often. It is now only turned on half the day. Our leaks have been eliminated. read more
