I booked this condo last minute for our wedding night- everything else in town was either sold out or very very expensive, so we were lucky to find this place! I called the office, and they were able to accommodate a late check in which was appreciated. I worried that it might not be as nice as I hoped, because I seem to have terrible luck booking stays- but it met and exceeded expectations! The unit we stayed in was very well kept, very clean, and cute. While some fixtures were a bit "vintage," this only added to the charm and looked great paired with newer renovations such as the modern wood/laminate flooring. Plenty of towels were provided, which is a must. 6 each for bath towels, hand towels, and wash cloths, as well as kitchen towels. The kitchen had a full sized fridge, stove, sink, microwave, toaster, dishwasher, and coffee maker with complimentary coffee. It also had all the expected items needed to cook and serve a meal. We did book, pay for, and receive an ocean facing room. I'm sad we only booked one night, since we're on a flight tomorrow! We 100% recommend staying at Ocean Terrace Condominiums!

The view? None here. The bed? Doesn't get much worse. Luckily I brought my air mattress, pillow and comforter. This place was decorated in the 1980s and needs new everything, linens, furniture fixtures, everything. I thought 5 watt bulbs were only used at motel 6 but not so. Bring your own light if you want to read. Low season $100/night times 30 is $3,000 a month for chrissake buy a decent mattress and upgrade this pathetic hole in the wall to the current century. The pool towels are so pilled that you barely want to pat dry lest ye chafe your skin. The billiards table has large rip, the pingpong table is as old as me. Don't recommend to anyone for any reason. Sleeping in car is more comfortable. Simply pathetic.

Found this gem through Booking.com. Tucked away in the long shadow of inn at Spanish head, this small family owned apartment is perfect respite for working families and friends. The unit we rented for the weekend is owned by an Airbnb like couple. Fully self sufficient for the stay in and cook your own food vacation. Location is great for local restaurants and stores. The pinnacle of the stay here are beautiful beach views and easy access to the beach.

We stayed here for couple of nights during summer as a family. It was a very pleasant experience and we all had great time here except for minor things. We took a condominium in the first floor overlooking beach providing excellent view for sunset and perfect picnic spot with benches. Also fully loaded kitchen with king size bed. Just few minor things though like toaster wasn't working and king size bed came with bad mattress causing back pain. Same thing with convertible couch / bed in the living room.

Upon arrival we were greeted by a very very clean room. The cleaning crew did a bang up job!! The two leather rocking chairs and leather couch were very comfy and provided lots of room for everyone to sit. Now let's talk about the view. Amazing!! We were in the 4th floor and there was a hot tub on the balcony to enjoy the king tide swim. The kitchen was very well stocked right now to lots of snapware to keep stuff fresh in the fridge. I would stay in this unit again. My one and only complaint is that the door handle from the balcony didn't work so if the door shut you were locked out. Thankfully that only happened once and our friends were inside so it wasn't a big deal at all. Thank you for providing such a beautiful and relaxing space.

The good: I like that they have designated smoking machines that help keep the majority of the floor clear and lower smoke. As someone with allergies, this is a HUGE improvement. I also like that they had free soft drinks and teas available at all times, I do not remember this being a feature at other casinos I've visited. Every staff member we interacted with was nice, polite, and helpful. We were there in the evening (11pm or so) and there were still plenty of options for food available. There were MANY machines to choose from, along with table games. The not so great: I hate that there is no buffet! I loved the old buffet they used to offer but it seems that went away during pandemic times. There was also not a lot of seating for the sit down dining options like the sandwich shop or taco bar. It would be helpful if there were cleaning supplies, even wet wipes, so that people can wipe down the tables before sitting down. We had to use water and napkins, which weren't the most sturdy but worked in a pinch.

The property itself is beautiful, and we were genuinely excited to experience everything it had to offer. Unfortunately, our interaction with one employee, the pit boss named Lolly, completely overshadowed what could have been a wonderful first visit. We were directed by the casino cage/cashier to speak with Lolly regarding guest incentives and whether any fees or promotional offers were available. We frequently visit casinos throughout the country and have received similar accommodations elsewhere, so we simply wanted to ask what was available. The cage staff specifically told us that Lolly was the person we needed to speak with. From the moment we approached her, she made it abundantly clear that she didn't want to talk to us. Rather than greeting us or taking a few moments to answer our questions, she appeared eager to rush us away and treated us as though we were an inconvenience. While I completely understand that every casino has different policies and that the answer to our request could have been "no," there is a respectful and professional way to communicate that. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. What was especially disappointing was hearing her describe Chinook Winds as "just a small tiny casino" that couldn't offer very much to guests. That statement diminished the very property she represents. This is a beautiful casino and resort, and its employees should be proud ambassadors for it, not leave guests with the impression that it has little to offer. I truly hope I never have another interaction with someone who feels entitled to treat people with the level of rudeness we experienced. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to engage with someone like Lolly. Her attitude created an unnecessarily negative experience and reflected poorly on an otherwise beautiful property. That said, I also believe exceptional employees deserve to be recognized, because several members of your staff completely restored our faith in the customer service at Chinook Winds. Danielle, who paid one of our jackpots, was absolutely wonderful. She was kind, thoughtful, personable, and made us feel genuinely welcomed. Heather was another standout employee. Her positive energy was contagious as she walked the casino floor. She cheered us on during bonuses and celebrated with other guests who were winning. You could tell she truly enjoys her job, and that enthusiasm made the casino more fun for everyone around her. I also want to recognize Dianna, who was working at the floor bar. She was incredibly warm, compassionate, and sincere from the very beginning--even before I shared that we were simply passing through on our way to medical appointments for my husband. After learning why we were traveling, every time we walked by she would smile and say she hoped everything went well with my husband's doctors and that we would win big that night. Those weren't rehearsed customer service comments--they felt genuine, caring, and heartfelt. Danielle, Heather, and Dianna are exactly the kind of employees every organization hopes to have. They went above and beyond simply doing their jobs--they made people feel welcomed, appreciated, and valued. They are outstanding representatives of Chinook Winds and the reason we left with at least some positive memories despite our unfortunate interaction with Lolly. I sincerely hope management recognizes the incredible work of Danielle, Heather, and Dianna while also addressing the level of customer service we experienced with Lolly. One employee should never have the ability to tarnish the reputation of an otherwise beautiful resort, especially when so many others are working so hard to create a welcoming experience.

I understand that rental properties are not hotels, things occasionally break, and photos are naturally going to present a property in its best light. But there is a significant difference between that and what we experienced here. First, the photos were almost laughable compared with the actual condition of the property. This was not a matter of flattering angles or professional photography--the reality simply did not live up to what was represented. Multiple advertised amenities were broken or unusable, and Meredith Properties showed remarkably little interest in actually fixing anything. The house had bugs and spiders throughout it, with cobwebs in multiple areas, and the overall level of upkeep was nowhere near what I would expect from a professionally managed vacation rental. The problems continued inside the house. There weren't even enough plates and glasses for the number of guests the property was supposed to accommodate. I actually CUT MY LIP on a broken glass provided in the home. The so-called essentials felt like someone had gone out and purchased an assortment of random, inexpensive items simply so they could technically say the house was stocked, rather than thoughtfully equipping a property for paying guests. But the condition of the house was only half the problem. What made this experience truly unacceptable was the response from Meredith Properties. When we raised legitimate concerns, there was seemingly no urgency or genuine desire to make things right. At one point I realized I was apparently communicating with an AI chatbot rather than even receiving the courtesy of speaking with a person about the problems we were experiencing. For a company entrusted with people's vacations--and charging real money for these properties--that level of customer service is astonishing. The overall message we received was essentially: **we have your money, these are your problems now.** And prospective guests should pay attention to something else: **read the other reviews.** I am clearly not the only guest who has had serious concerns. I wish I had given those reviews considerably more weight before booking. Again, I travel frequently and rent vacation properties all the time. I know the difference between a minor inconvenience and a genuinely bad rental experience. I also know that problems can happen at ANY property. What separates a good management company from a bad one is how they respond when those problems occur. Meredith Properties had multiple opportunities to show us that they cared about their guests and to make this experience right. In my experience, they chose not to. My advice to anyone considering one of their properties is simple: **look very carefully at the reviews, do not assume the photographs accurately represent what you will find when you arrive, and think twice before trusting Meredith Properties with your vacation.** I certainly will not make that mistake again.
