The beach access is good, the check-in at the front desk was pleasant, and the room we were in (221) was very clean and nicely designed. The room itself was also quiet and the bed / pillows were clean and comfortable. The shower head pressure was phenomenal- some of the best we've ever experienced in any hotel. The hallway was noisy at times, but late at night it was pretty quiet. The entertainment sucked - karaoke and a live performer. It was so bad, it was like being in a lounge-lizard bar. But the bar drinks were good and very friendly service. The lady playing the piano with electronic music sang off-key (a lot), but was very sweet. Get rid of the piano - it just doesn't fit the ambiance of the hotel lobby. We literally almost check ourselves out of the hotel, when we saw and heard what the entertainment was like. The pool was packed with screaming kids jumping in and out of it, until 10 PM. But at last the parents gathered them up and got them inside, which made the rest of the time out by the pool quieter and relaxing. Appreciate the front desk clerk putting us on the 2nd Floor so we would be above the little league baseball team on the 1st Floor. We skipped breakfast, because of the little league baseball team kids running around the lobby and being just kids. The room was a bit pricey, but I was able to use my AMEX rewards to save some money.

First of all, service at this hotel is spectacular. And they gave us late check out, 4pm! We grabbed our keys and parking pass and started to unload the car. The elevator floor is heavily worn- probably from fine sand on everyone's shoes. It's a bit of a hazard- easy to slip. Be careful. Our room had a partial ocean view but mostly a view of Flagler avenue, which was fine. The AC was cranking loud and hard but it kept the room at 68, where we wanted it. The shower took a few minutes to get hot, but it was great and good water pressure and it has the shower head with multiple modes. Towels were not super plush but definitely not over washed. They provided makeup remover wipes. The room was clean. They gave us two bottled waters. There was a small fridge and microwave. A hair dryer and safe in the closet. Ironing board and iron as well. We did not, however, have a tv remote! Do the tv was on and blaring. We reported it to the desk and they had one up to us within an hour. Who knows where the original remote went. Ok. Specifics. I have stayed at many springhill suites. This one had the most meager breakfast. What do I mean? Well, they only had two hot plates a day (many springhill suites have four hot plates) and they don't serve waffles all week- only on Saturday and Sunday! I was a bit sad about that. I was keen on a waffle on Monday morning after smelling them all weekend. But nope. I missed my chance. So we had scrambled eggs and either bacon or sausage every single day. No hard boiled eggs. No cut up fruit; only apples bananas and oranges. Also the butter was cold in the fridge so it was difficult to spread on toast. They have oatmeal but only 5 toppings- they did not have the sliced almonds or the chocolate chips or coconut flakes. They only had craisins, raisins, walnuts, granola, brown sugar, honey, agave and cinnamon. But I wanted almonds and chocolate chips. They had the usual yogurt and cereal and breads. Coffee was continually refreshed. The employees were out cleaning tables and refreshing the buffet and helping guests throughout breakfast. They have pool towels available at the check in area; the pool seems nice. They have a bar out there and another in the lobby. They also have a small Starbucks in the lobby but I don't think it's really a Starbucks location. They have iced water station at the lobby bar. They have ice machines on floors 2 and 4 We had a room with two queens. I loved that I had three different pillows on each bed. You could find at least one that you prefer. The bedding was nice per usual. The bed was a bit worn- I was slumping in the middle a bit. Parking was plentiful. A few spots out back and lots in the underground garage. We lost power for a little over two hours during a lightning storm. Our room stayed cool. It was set at 68 and only drifted to 71. Hot water was still available- they must have a large heater. We just opened the shades and relaxed. Power flickered on and off for awhile but finally was restored at 6:02pm. The parking garage exit gate was left in an open state so no one was trapped inside. Overall, I was pleased with the way they treat their Marriott bonvoy members. The hotel itself has a wonderful location and ample parking. The pool and beach area are so nice. The staff is truly remarkable- working hard, saying hello and checking on guests. The power outage is out of their control. I just wish the breakfast options were better- I miss the quiche, the biscuits and gravy, the seasoned potatoes, the hard boiled eggs, the spicy pepper biscuit, the cut up melon, grapes, mango, the raw spinach leaves, the croissant sandwiches, the biscuit sandwiches- there are so many options that other springhill suites have that we did not get on Saturday Sunday or Monday. Oh and the laundry facility was out of order but we were not affected by that.

I didn't want to devote any time to this review over the holidays and while family was in town but, I was reminded of this unfortunate experience and felt I really should leave this review. We were rudely awoken at 12:45am by a drunk couple that was loudly clomping up the stairs and screaming at each other. The woman was shouting "Your F-ing big ego!" They stood right outside our door shouting, F-ing this and F-ing that. They finally made it to their room and continued fighting for the next couple hours. So, we were awake for at least 3 hours. A sign inside the room door listed the management number to call or text in case of an emergency. Finally, at 1:54am, when we couldn't take it any longer, I texted management but got no response until a 6:42am text of, "We apologize for this." At breakfast the next morning, Carole and Angie did apologize. Carole said that she did not hear the 1:54am text. They made light of the incident and said they couldn't have done anything anyway since the police won't do anything when the drunken guests are screaming inside their room (by the time Police would've arrived). I would expect more from management at a hotel so, why not at a Bed & Breakfast? Carole and Angie even joked about the time another guest actually called the police over drunken, disorderly guests. We did not find any of this amusing since we were really tired after our sleep was disrupted for hours. Upon expressing our dissatisfaction about the middle of the night debacle and requesting at the least, a one-half comp for the night, I was offered a discount on a future weekday stay along with much attitude from Carole via several texts as she couldn't understand why we could be upset. When I responded to an email soliciting a 5-star review, the owner, Allison Witherow, replied "we can offer a fully complimentary night's stay for the future on a date of your choice. Because your original reservation is several weeks in the past, this is our standard procedure in lieu of a refund." I addressed the matter on check-out day but, now time is the reason for refusing to issue the refund. I would not consider returning to this Inn after this experience. Unfortunately, our plans for the check-out day were ruined as well since, we were dragging all day after not getting the proper rest overnight. If the "Bed" portion of our visit hadn't been such a fiasco, I wouldn't even mention that the breakfast was a disappointing, half-hearted effort. The Italian omelet was microwaved (not kidding) scrambled eggs on a thick slice of rock-hard Italian bread. I suppose the earlier seating got the fresh omelets. So, if your goal is to hit the nightlife on Flagler Avenue and mix with the nightlife to all hours, the Inn on the Avenue is the lodging for you.

First, I'll give credit where it's due: the two young ladies at the front desk when we arrived were very polite and welcoming. Check-in was at 4 PM, but we arrived around 2 PM hoping for an early check-in so we could enjoy the beach. One of the ladies kindly said she would text me if a room became available early. Cool, no problem. Around 3:20 PM, lightning started getting bad on the beach and everyone was being evacuated from certain areas. Since the weather turned ugly, I went back around 3:40 PM to see if the room was ready. I was told no. Fine. But when I mentioned it was only 20 minutes before check-in, the response and attitude felt unnecessarily rigid and dismissive. I checked again around 3:50 PM because the weather kept getting worse... still no room. Now I'm standing around waiting while the storm is rolling in, and somehow the room magically became available at basically 3:59 and 59 seconds. Technically, yes, 4 PM is 4 PM. I understand policy. But the delivery and customer service behind it made it feel like they were intentionally being difficult instead of accommodating. Then we finally got to the room: - No trash bags - No ice machines anywhere on the property - You have to go all the way back to the front desk for bags of ice Later that night, around 8 PM, we wanted to relax and watch Hulu. I called the front desk asking how to connect to the TV, and the employee told me I needed to bring my own Roku or Fire Stick. I'm sorry... who travels with streaming devices to a resort in 2026? Overall, the property itself has potential because the location is nice, but the hospitality and guest experience need serious improvement. The vibe I got was very much "we don't care how you feel as long as we follow policy to the second." Unfortunately, I wouldn't stay here again.
