Called this morning. Got an appointment right away. The receptionist was extremely friendly. The intake person was very good. I had to leave my dog for X-rays, but felt they would take good care of him. The doctor was great and spent time talking to me about options for his care. We first brought our cat to precious paws after going to 2 other vets before them. Our cat is terrified of the vet and a trip to the vet usually includes hissing and scratching. Not at precious paws though. The vet techs and vets were amazing and she was very comfortable. I also loved how her examination was very thorough and we were able to get more information about the type of heart murmur Mika has. Once we adopted our dog i knew she would be going to precious paws. The only downside is they are cat and dog only, so my Guinea pigs have to go elsewhere. read more

Dr. Maniatty and Dr. MaryHelen are genuine animal lovers and take time with you and your pet. They are thorough and clearly knowledgeable. Their vet techs are great. Shout out to Nick! The practice is quite pricey but they do offer a 5% discount if you have 3 or more pets (must all be current patients). While I absolutely love this location and quality of care I must return to my long time vet Jimmy Tragle of Whaleyville MD. It's a bit of a drive for me but he is a great vet and his prices are so much better and when you have as many dogs as I do, it's just best all the way around. read more

While I am happy with the care, the prices and lack of disclosure made me write this review. I took my rescue to get her teeth cleaned after being quoted 488 up to 700. They failed to mention all the add on charges. Blood work alone was 250 then the doctor said some teeth needed to be pulled. Never discussed additional charges. After it was all finished I paid over $1200 for a tiny chihuahua to get her teeth cleaned. I canceled her follow up and will not be back. I told the tech when he brought her out and he said he knew of my issue and it happens all the time and he hates it too. They aren't up front with realistic quotes because you'd run for the hills! read more

Absolutely wonderful vet! They were able to see my visiting cat the same day I called. Very nice of them to fit us in. Dr. Maniatty spent plenty of time with my cat, did a thorough exam, prescribed medication and was very comforting - great bedside manner. The Animal Hospital stocked the necessary prescription, so that was a real time saver. I thought the price reasonable for the drugs and exam. I'd give them six stars but there is a confusion between all the names: Precious Paws and Ocean View Clinic and Ocean View Animal Hospital. This spring my cat was exhibiting signs of a stroke and in my panic I was rude to the person who answered the phone. Despite my bad behavior the staff found a way to squeeze my furry child into the schedule and I believe saved her life. Therefore you all have my gratitude forever. read more

Would like to thank the entire staff at precious paws for taking superb care of us in an emergency. My wife and I were in town awaiting a real estate settlement when our dog became ill. While this isn't our primary vet we needed someone immediately. Tanya got us in that morning just as they opened. Maddy helped get us started and gave us all of the needed information up front along with an estimate that was very thorough. Dr John Maniattythe owner was there at 9 am and within 30 minutes had given us the diagnosis. Treatment was courteous prompt and very caring throughout.they obviously care about the job they do and the services they provide. Waiting 25 minutes in the room until doctor showed he was very professional and so were his assistants. However it took much longer then expected to get her ears flushed and path results. Then Hannah came back to me and I waited again for the meds and the bill. I was there 1 hour and 30 minutes. Ugh!!!! read more

I brought my dog in for a few simple stitches. The Vet tech told me during the visit that it would cost $75 but didn't mention that it would be an extra $100 for the stitches. I figured it would be extra but it was kind of confusing- I don't know why she didn't tell me what the total would be knowing my dog was going to need a few stitches & that was what I brought her for. I brought my dog home and monitored her all afternoon to make sure she wasn't picking at the stitches or exerting herself. By 5 o clock the stitches were completely gone. I got a hold of them the next day & they said I could bring her back but I needed to pay for the stitches again. So I spent $175 for my dog to be in absolutely the same situation she was in before I went to that vet. They offered nothing to compensate me whatsoever. A complete waste of time & money. My husband and I own our own business & we stand behind our work would always offer something to make up for shoddy work or unhappy clients. read more

This has been my families go to vet for pet emergencies since I was young and we had to put down my first cat Zeus due to a UTI(in which they had made the experience .... not 'easy' as I was dealing with the loss of my first pet at 8 years old, but as seamless as possible) and until recently was simply an emergency only vet because of finances. But recently my one year old cat was showing signs of pregnancy so we decided to take her in. I am only 19 and take care of my pets by myself, so money was an issue for this checkup. But let's start with the fact that two vet techs came out to help me get my distressed, pregnant, heavily panting cat out from under the seats of my car because she ran under them out of fear, having never been so close the main road before. Then, I went to check her in, and asked if the cost was more than what I had, if my grandpa could call to give her his card info to foot the bill. They told me 'you just tell them what you're working with and we'll make sure it does go sky high.' I had 160$ on me at the time, and the exam, ultrasound and precautionary dewormer cost me roughly 158, so they held true on their end. My cat seems to have really enjoyed the vet techs and the doctor, which means she will definitely be going back with her kittens if any problems are to arise, or hopefully just for her post partum and the kittens first checkup. read more

We have been taking our dogs to Ocean View Animal Hosp. for years We took our Great Dane Ozzy to them to check his anal glands. While checking his glands they expressed blood with the fluid. Dr. Mary Helen put him on medication for 2 weeks. When we returned she checked his glands again and they seemed OK. She then said to leave him on the meds for another week. Toward the end of the 3rd week, the medication made him lose his equilibrium, causing him to fall down the stairs. He was walking very erratically around the house. We took him back to OV Hosp. and he was seen by Dr. Offenbacker. We told her about our recent visit for his infected anal glands. She checked his folder then him. She said nothing about the possible side effects of the medication. She told us that he had probably tore the ligaments in his knees and administered 2 injections. She advised us to see an orthopedic specialist vet in Delmar. This DR. told us that his joints were fine and that he may have something wrong with his brain. She sent us to Annapolis Animal Hospital for an immediate MRI. When they found that his brain was fine they determined that it must have been the medication that can have an adverse affect on his equilibrium. They put him on valium which is the treatment for helping the medication to leave his system. Because Ocean View Animal Hospital did not recognize the affects of the medication they prescribed for our dog, they sent us on a $5200 trip to other veterinary hospitals. We talked to Dr. Mary Helen about this . She told us that she would talk to Dr. Maniatty about this situation and let us know what he was going to do about it. It has been a month and a half and we have heard nothing. read more

Ocean view animal hospital had treated my brothers dog for Lyme disease 2 years ago very successfully. We thought "Lizzie" was a patient however she became ill on this visit to Bethany and we could not get an appointment and were told to go elsewhere and had to wait 2 days. She had pancreatitis and is very ill; had she been seen earlier her prognosis may have been better and she would not have had to suffer like she has. Shame on this clinic for turning away a patient in dire need and totally dismissing her. So much for compassion. If she does not make it I will place full blame on this clinic read more
