This place used to be really good. I ordered a shrimp poe boy wich says it comes drizzled with bistro sauce....which apparently is tarter sauce...litterally a shrimp sandwich with tarter sauce. Not impressed we used to go at least 1 time a year. no more. read more

Came for a late lunch and sat outside. Jake the waiter was great, friendly and attentive. The seared sesame tuna was a good portion and the crab cake sandwich was proper meat. The Bloody Mary was spot on and the margarita was good too. We'll be back! read more

Found this by using Google maps and we are so glad we did. We were all hungry (6 of us) so we ordered a large variety and everything was delicious!! But I highly recommend the crab meat griller (basically an open face quesadilla with crab meat, mushrooms, artichoke hearts, and mango salsa) it was delicious!! Our waitress Nia was as sweet as can be and very efficient. Definitely recommend this for lunch if you're on OBX. read more

Delicious veggie griller- an open quesadilla with a deep edge of frico cheese and fish tacos for lunch today. It was good to find this place open on a cold, overcast winter day. I tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt. They just dont get it. We went 2 weeks ago on a Sunday and got seated. 15 minutes later we walked out. No service nothing. Did not even get a glass of water. If you want to drink booze only might be your best bet. You tell them how you want your meat cooked. It comes to you opposite what you asked for. My experience the last year here in OBX regarding places to eat is not good. I know for sure in the winter to stay away from any restaurant here. They serve you food thats been sitting somewhere for along time. yuk. Not going back to Oceanas every again. The service and food suck. read more

Well this was our favorite place, so sad. Couldn't wait to go for dinner. Their hush puppies WERE the best.. now they are frozen garbage. Service was terrible. Fish bites were nasty as well. Do not come here. Prime rib was cold, and when asked to recook they microwaved the same steak. Shrimp sandwich was super mushy and gross. The shrimp was either over cooked or super mushy. A few people at our party of twelve got food poisoning. The waitress seemed to not care at all about anything and she did not give off a good vibe. The wait wasn't too long but the food was terrible. My husband and I always visit Oceanas every year when we visit Avon. It's a must stop! Their food is always delicious! Our favorites are the Blackened Mahi Mahi Bites, Coconut Shrimp and Seared Tuna. We typically sit at the bar where my husband and can play the PBR game. If you haven't played it, you have to go and ask to play. We've also sat and ate in the dining area plenty of times. The service is always quick and everyone is very nice. COVID - they do a really nice job with keeping COVID in mind. Plenty of outside seating. One way in, one way out. All servers wear masks and make you feel very comfortable. Our favorite place in Avon!!! read more

Go here if you want to be treated like garbage. Walked in and waited patiently in line to be seated. Finally able to choose an outside table. We were asked by the waiter to move for the next large party coming in, we obliged. After moving to a table in direct sunlight we were never served. Set a timer on my phone waiting for service to come. The party we moved for already had drinks coming to them as we were leaving. As well as a couple seated 15 minutes after us were being waited on. My local friends' advice: come early for dinner, because it fills up quickly! We came on a Saturday night (the day that tourists check in or check out of their rental houses) at 5pm to beat the crowd and were seated in no time. My friend and I split the Seafood nachos ($13) appetizer. I know--you're thinking, 2 people split an appetizer? I was initially skeptical but understood why my friend insisted that we split the plate when the food arrived. The nachos came out on a large plate overflowing with chips, melted gooey cheese, creamy sauce, and seafood (shrimp, scallops, fish). This dish is the best bang for your buck! The sauce was so so good. I dipped some fries in it to soak it all up. My husband ordered the ribs special of the day with a side of fries ($9) because he wanted to take a break from eating seafood, and my other local friend ordered popcorn shrimp with a side of fries (his favorite). Each shrimp is sizeable and I stole a couple of their fries, which were crispy on the outside and thick-cut. My husband enjoyed his ribs, but the portion was slightly smaller than he expected. Visiting during the off-season so choices were rather limited. This place had good reviews on Yelp so we stopped in for dinner. Admittedly this reviews is for our second visit; the first we were starving so I didn't take pictures. I had the fish tacos - flour tortilla and tuna medium rare. Same dish as beige and this time even yummier. Fish was cooked perfectly and the slaw sauce combo makes it! My husband had the second visit the blacked tuna griller. Describes as a quesadilla it's a cross between a Mexican pizza and open quesadilla. Smothered in cheese and that crispy edge is to die for. Tuna also perfectly cooked and he got it lightly blacked to hot overpower. Service was frequently and quick -- we visited here twice during our stay. read more

Everything about my experience here I would classify as great. Between our server/bartender to our meals. I ordered the snow crab legs with sautéed vegetables and sweet potato fries and my partner ordered the mahi fish tacos. The food was all excellent; I will say the zucchini was a tad harder than I like but i would classify that as a personal preference no fault to the kitchen. The crab legs were the best I've had in Avon! They were both juicy and full. The bartender we had, he makes an excellent blueberry mojito! It was the best mojito I've ever had; they had fresh blueberries and mint. He was friendly and seemed to chat with everyone and was equally as friendly. It was all around a wonderful experience, including the vibe the vibe here was great as well. We will definitely be back next time we're in the area! read more

Been here twice during my stay in Obx. First time I came for breakfast, had ham and cheese breakfast quesadilla. It was amazing. Cheese was crisped around the edges. Bartender was awesome, service was top notch. Second time for dinner we had crab and shrimp dip, spinach artichoke dips as appetizers, crab cakes, open faced quesadilla and chicken sandwich as main entree. Once again service was top notch. 10/10 WOULD RECOMMEND. We come down to OBX various times throughout the year (Christmas, early spring, summer) but haven't tried this place until tonight. We saw a lot of cars in the P-lot and figured it would be really GOOD! So we wrangled a spot and sat at the bar. My bf had the Caribbean Chicken Griller and it WAS SO YUMMY. I asked the bartender -Laura- what her favorite was, and she mentioned the tacos. I am very picky and particular about my tacos (I eat tacos like 3+ times a week). I had the blackened tuna tacos and they were SOOOOOOO TASTY!!! We are adding this ~one of a kind~ place to our itinerary for the months to come. We were headed to Cape Hatteras and the dining choices w ere very limited due to it being October on a week day! We found this place and we're greeted with friendly staff and great burgers! We can't eat seafood so it was nice to find a place that offered other choices! Definitely would recommend if you are heading out on Rt 12! read more

One of the Best on Hatters Island. The prices are very fair. The food is very good have not had a bad meal there. The weekly specials are as advertised. All of the staff is friendly and make you feel at home. The atmosphere is warm and inviting have stopped by every night that I have been in town. PBR bottles are a $1.50. I have ate the French Dip, Prime Rib, Honey Pepper Chicken with grilled Pineapple, Sesame seared Tuna, The Steam Shrimp Special. The side are great highly recommend the onion rings and the homemade old bay chips! read more
