Loved the tiki aesthetic, we came at lunch so it was quite tame, I could see this place having a nightlife. For being a small tiki bar the cooking was really good. I had a margarita which was excellent and my wife had a Crush with fresh squeezed orange juice and she loved it. The only reason we didn't eat was we were looking for shrimp or fish and the current menu did not have that option. We were there in March and they were busy. This place is charming and has a lot of character! There's indoor and outdoor seating, and it's in a convenient spot - you can grab a bite there before taking the ferry to Ocracoke Island, or can hang here before heading back to the beach. They also have live music sometimes at night, which is a fun atmosphere. I usually order the chicken quesadillas and the pirate punch, but they have plenty of other sandwich and quesadilla options. Also, if you order a mixed drink, you'll get a collectible cup! Only downside to this place is that sometimes you'll walk in, and the tables aren't cleaned up from the previous guests. I think they might be a little understaffed, but otherwise it's worth checking out! read more

We were on our way to Hatteras, and I remembered that I thought the interior of the Wreck was so cute that I went into just take a photograph. But the owner was so nice. His name is Joel and asked us if he wanted to table edit, and his attitude made us sit down when we weren't going to and enjoy a cocktail and some smoke fish dip.. our waiter Matty promptly brought us our delicious smoked mahi-mahi, fish, dip, and orange crushes. What is not to like.. Beer and good food... I had the Cuban Sandwich and a couple of recommended beers... All very good.... The view is great if you set out side or at the right place in the bar... Inside is not very big, but a great place to grab a Beer and food. Personally I liked that the prices printed on their menu includes tax... Made paying with cash so much easier... We had been looking forward to going all week but we were quickly disappointed. We had a table of 9 and got a table at 8pm so that was good. We were promptly told that we would not receive table service but the 10 top next to us had table service and the 8 top that was seated after us had table service. While vacationing in the Outer Banks, we popped down to Hatteras for the day and this was the only option for day drinking. We immediately felt like locals as we bantered with 2 of the best bartenders we have encountered on our many adventures, Sarah and Bailey. They were fun, friendly, informative, and gracious, and we wish we would have swung in sooner, as they closed an hour after we arrived. Not only was the alcohol to our liking, but the fish dip was delicious, as was the ham and cheese sandwich. So whether you want a cool, cozy atmosphere, good food, fun swag, or just the company of awesome bartenders, this is your place! Only reason why I'm giving this place one star is because of the food and the only reason why I liked the food was because I was hungry. Drinks are horrible, tasted like water mixed with kool aid and rum. Gave them a generous tip for a pretty big order and all I got back was sass. I nicely asked when my food would be ready and the hostess and kitchen staff were both unnecessarily rude about it. Only nice person working there was the teenage blonde girl. Thought I would have a great experience and be able to come back with some friends for a drink and music. Guess not. Not a good look for OBX, won't be coming back.
