I'm not sure if the gentleman is the owner, didn't even catch his name, he's been there for years and is always so helpful and friendly. This place had the freshest seafood that you could buy in the area. From what I gathered, just about everything closes down at the end of November. Few restaurants are open and maybe one gas station remains open until the following March of each year. Everything comes back alive. I visited this place 3 out of the 5 days spent camping Oceanside for my birthday. I purchased head off shrimp in the shell, scallops, homemade crab cakes, cajun sausages, and a few oysters. Each night, I cooked this fresh catch on the grill at the campsite, adding fresh corn, fresh garlic, and potatoes I picked up at the local grocery store. I made foil packs with all the ingredients, added half a stick of butter, and let it steam for about hour. It was the most tenderest seafood pack ever! The crab cakes were delicious and were eaten with fresh scrambled eggs and avocado for breakfast! Can't wait to go back to the Outer Banks! read more

We've only been there once but will return and have no hesitation recommending to others. The market is so clean and spotless. This is the best Seafood market in the area! Everything is super fresh and priced right. We tried the Scallops, which were huge. Crab Cakes (the absolute best), Red Snapper, Shrimp, Hush puppies. We bought some local seasoning since we we were only there for a short time and it was delicious! The Key Lime Pops were amazing! Every year we order seafood from here for our traditional low country boil. While I don't normally participate because I don't like it, I was elated when there were crab cakes on the menu. This has been my go to seafood store in Avon for years. It is always well stocked and when'you walk in the door you can smell how clean and fresh everything is. This year I purchased a pound of shrimp and a pound of scallops for surf and turf shish kabobs. My son grilled them and it was exactly what you want for a vacation feast. When it was time to leave I needed shrimp to bring home as thank you my neighbors who are so kind and they shrink wrapped them and quick froze them in packages so that they travelled home perfectly. This is exactly the sort of business that deserves to be patronized over and over again. Love them. read more
