It was well furnished and also well stocked with beach toys, towels, chairs, etc and stocked with everything you need in the kitchen and also included umbrellas. We had a great experience of renting our condo through Oceanfront Realty International. The instructions for how to arrive at and access the condo were delivered in a timely fashion. They also sent tips for how to explore the island, and a reminder of when we'd need to book a permit to access a national park. And the condo was fantastic! Loved the views and location in Princeville on the North Shore of Kauai. Sitting out on our lanai morning, noon or night we had breathtaking vistas. Condo was centrally located for everything we wanted to do on Kauai. The only thing we had issue with was the kitchen, the counter tops were warped and burnt in a few places, not what we expected at this property at the level we paid. While we were there we had an issue with our cable an they came and swapped out our box promptly so we were not inconvenienced. We had a flawless experience with Oceanfront Realty for our Princeville Kauai vacation. The unit was clean and had all the amenities we needed. It was a fabulous location as we walked right out onto the grass with an expansive ocean view. The wifi was great and two of us could easily stream. The beds were comfortable and there was a brand new washer/dryer set. The neighbors were also really nice. The unit was a bit dated and could use some better lighting, but it fit all the pictures we saw on VRBO. The team was very responsive to anything that was needed. We would def. stay at one of their properties again. read more

Nice place, clean, comfortable and with nearly a 180° view. Reasonably well equipped kitchen. We rented a two bedroom place expecting another couple to join us, who later had to cancel, so we had the place to my wife and I. My only complaints were: (a) The place came with 2 beds and 10(!) pillows, every one of which was a slab style pillow that is only good for side sleepers, and even then it's a bit hard on the ears. Not a feather or down or even soft synthetic pillow to be found. So it was a bit hard sleeping. (b) The TV was "old school" with no ability to stream or access Internet. We came equipped with our Netflix, Prime and HBOMax passwords, but couldn't use them. There also was no USB ports, so if you brought movies stored on a flash drive, you wouldn't be able to use it. The only option was cable, with something like 2000 channels and LOTS and LOTS of commercials! (Hard to handle for someone used to streaming). For a place this expensive, that was a disappointment. read more

My family recently returned from a trip to Kauai and this is our review of our experiences with our beach house rental and Oceanfront Realty. The house we accepted a rental agreement for in the fall of 2018 was the "Anahola Beach House," which listed for 7 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, 5,258 sqft., which would accommodate our large party. Two days prior to our arrival in Anahola, we received a phone call from the Oceanfront Company President, Bob, informing us that our house was not going to be available for rent due to a water line break that occurred inside the house. The replacement house they offered us, the "Anahola Sun," was just a few houses to the southeast. However, it was significantly smaller than what we had originally signed an agreement for, being only 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 2424 sqft., and we were quite cramped considering our party size and for what we had paid for. In addition, Bob informed us that the house we would be staying in was "more expensive and a substantial upgrade" than our original house and that it was recently remodeled. Currently, the "Anahola Sun" lists for about $100 less than "Anahola Beach House" on the beachfront rentals website. During our stay in the Anahola Beach House, we encountered the following issues: * Moderate to severe ant infestation throughout the entire house * Extreme water leakage through the upper windows of the living room that we cleaned up in the middle of the night during a power outage * The remote controls to the TV cable boxes were missing batteries, making it impossible to watch TV * Absence of candles and flashlights in a house that is prone to island power outages * The refrigerator's ice maker and water dispenser were not functioning due to a spent water filter * Unsafe beach conditions We informed a contractor, who happened to be working on another part of the house and had dropped off extra towels, of the leak, but he merely placed a sealing wrap around the outside of some of the windows to stop the main leak, but other leaks still occurred and the loose ends of paper not tacked down rattled constantly with the lightest of breezes. The excessive noise of the paper made it difficult, being it was the only main gathering room in which to do anything together. The Anahola Beach house was close to the ocean, but the manner in how it was advertised suggested that the beach was family friendly with water depths that were up to your knees and waist, so one could swim/play in the ocean safely. In actuality, the water conditions were extremely dangerous with rip currents and high surf, including posted "Warning" signs nearby on this same beach not swim in the water. The beach was also about 200 yards down a narrow path through some thickets and remnants of littered campsites (toilet paper and clothing left behind). The beach also was not safe due to cars being allowed to drive on the beach where the pathway let out, making it unsafe for children and other beachgoers. We are dissatisfied with the manner in which this was handled and that we were given a house that did not accommodate our party size. The original house was a single story and as the replacement house's kitchen and family room was on a second floor, we had elderly members of our party that have trouble with stairs, and for them to be constantly be using the stairs to use the bathrooms downstairs and spend time in the family common room, made this a health challenge for them. Granted the breakage of the water line in the original house was beyond Oceanfront Realty's control and repairs had to be made, we feel that we should have received either (1) a house of similar, or larger size, (2) been compensated monetarily for the smaller house we did not originally agree to, or (3) be given equivalent hotel accommodations. Our family spent years saving money for this vacation and we do not believe we received the proper value for what we paid for. read more

We had the worst day of travel to get our vacation started and Jaymi kept in touch with me through out the day to make sure we got to our rental. She went above and beyond what I expected. Property was just as described and everything was great. if we had any questions while we were at rental Jaymi responded immediately. We couldn't stay in Kauai without Oceanfront Realty. Being repeat customers and having experienced things like locking myself out of our condo at 11:30 at night and needing their help to get in to having any problem that may happen like a light bulb burning out or gas needing to be filled in the barbecue, they are at the ready and ever so helpful. Allowing us the flexibility to see another property for possible future reservations was very helpful as well. I love everyone on staff and am shocked at the negative reviews below. Being a repeat customer, they are the most professional rental company I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I can't say enough about how they are there and they aim to please. read more

My overall rating for our experience from Oceanfront Properties is a below average 2 out of 5 stars. The 2 is mostly for the nice unit we were in and our amazing cleaning lady (can't remember her name right now at this time but she was very helpful and way more professional than our main inferior contact Cindy was. I've traveled a lot and been to Hawaii many times and as a working professional and business owner in California who has worked in the customer service field for the last 36 years, I am appalled at the one main contact Cindy @ Oceanfront Realty. The most unprofessional customer service person I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Cindy is the epitome of someone who should not be in the customer service field at all. I felt as if I was speaking to a 13-year-old excessively emotional girl and could not figure out how this person is in the customer service area and a point of contact for this company. If my customer service reps at my company were caught speaking to customers like she did with me I would have fired her immediately! Someone like her cannot be retrained and she truly has contempt for her job and her bosses that is obvious. Things that occurred while we were there: a) A pest control company left a flier on our door saying they will be by next day to spray inside our unit ad we have to vacate for several hours. This should have been a service done in between vacationers being inside the unit, not when people are on vacation visiting! b) The main TV in the unit was set up and programmed in a wierdest way. I'm experienced in working with audio/visual equipment and every day was a new problem in getting the TV to work with the cable box properly. Not an easy feat since it changed daily on how we finally got it to function. The last thing I will bring up is a doozie! When we booked this place, our unethical customer service rep Cindy was told we have 2 elderly travelers (my parents) and told her we did not want a 2 story as we are trying to avoid the steps for my parents. When we got there we saw that we were lied too right to our faces! We had a 2 bedroom, one up 17 steps on the 2nd floor and one at ground level. The one upstairs was a king size bed and had to put my parents in the upper unit since the bed was the only one large enough for 2. Your a bald face LIAR Cindy! I would highly recommend avoiding using this company for any lodging in Hawaii PERIOD!!! They ruined our trip that we paid a large amount of money for by being completely incompetent! We will be using another agency next trip, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me! read more

I am so disappointed with this company. I used them for the first time for a recent stay in Princeville and had a few very relevant asks to our contact in their office: Jonathan Schwartz. We asked for additional pillows as we only had two small pillow on a king bed, I asked for the broken beach chairs and broken umbrella to be replaced, they replaced second to last day of trip. I asked about internet which would fail and cause cable o go out nightly. He said that is how it is on the islands. Which is not my experience at all. We were traveling with my 13 month old son who we rented a crib for - Told Jonathan and he claims we never told him there would be an infant there. I can't bring my 12 month old baby to this condo? We rented everything we would need for an infant so that the condo would be set up properly. We are super clean, quiet, don't party, made friends with all neighbors and then Jonathan leaves this crazy review on my Airbnb page lying about all this weird stuff that never happened. Also claims there were crumbs on the floor near kitchen table? We cleaned when we left but no we did not sweep. WTF did we pay a cleaning deposit for? Seriously? I am so upset at the way this company treated us. This guy added a nasty ending to a great vacation. I have never experienced anything like it. If I treated my customers or colleagues with such disrespect I would be out of a job. Look else where. Anywhere else. read more

I did a long term rental with OFR and they were amazing! I had rented a place off of craiglist and it wasn't at all what I expected. The very next day I called OFR and they found me an awesome place at the Cliffs and I got to move in the same day, no questions asked. They were friendly and cooperative. We've been to Kaua'i several times, but this was the first time we've ever rented a vacation home and our first experience with Oceanfront Realty. We had a few serious issues when we arrived at the house, but it was late, so I sent an email to Oceanfront asking them to call me in the morning. To my pleasant surprise, Jaymie called me that night as soon as she saw the email and took immediate steps to begin addressing the issue. She stayed in touch throughout the week to make sure everything was okay. The house we rented was a new property to not only Oceanfront but the property owner who only bought the property a few months ago. They were attentive and took care to address issues they weren't previously aware of. I might not rent the same house, but I would certainly rent through Oceanfront again. read more

If you are a rental owner in Kauai beware. I would highly recommend that you fine another property management company to watch over your investment. I'm not sure why this this management company can't manage my investment property effectively. Perhaps it just lack of experience, manpower issues or they just don't give a dam. The state of Hawaii mandates the non-residents use local property management. It's not free and this property management got nicely paid for practically doing nothing. I sold my rental property because of their lack of owner involvement and professionalism. Princeville really need rental units badly. I sold my place because if you're a non-resident your treated like dirt. I'd recommend investing your money anywhere but the Island of Kauai, unless you live there. read more

I hired Oceanfront to manage my condo in Princeville. During the rental period, the washer/dryer had to be replaced, at a cost of about $1700. A few weeks later, this supposedly new washer/dryer broke down and had to be serviced, for which I was billed. It occurred to me that the repair should have been covered by warranty, but since I was off-island I eventually forgot about it. Soon after I returned to Kauai a few months later, the washer/dryer broke down again. I called a serviceman, not the one who had allegedly replaced the old unit, and he told me the washer/dryer was not new, and in fact was many years old. I called the original serviceman, who basically stonewalled me. So I called Oceanfront, in the hopes that the business they figured to be giving this guy going forward would leverage him into doing something. To my surprise, owner Donna immediately caused a new (this time really new) washer/dryer to be installed, paid for it out of her own pocket, and ended her relationship with the handyman she had been using. Not many businesses in this day and age take a hit to the pocketbook when they could just as easily temporize or disclaim responsibility. I bought my condo through Oceanfront. My agent saw me through the sale when health issues had me down and distracted, and I'm beyond thankful for that, since I got a great price and the apartment is perfect for me. And when I was renting it out, the staff at Oceanfront were always friendly and quick to respond to my needs. People are always going to have different experiences with any company, as the reviews here show, but in my case Oceanfront definitely took care of business fast, quick, and in a hurry. read more

We cannot recommend Ocean View Vacation Rentals in Kauai. Their website and sales staff are excellent but that's where the quality ends. We rented a condo at Pali Ke Kua unit 10 through them. When we arrived, the unit clearly was poorly maintained - dirt and debris in many places, TVs and remotes not working, kitchen counters and stove grimy, bbq filthy, light bulbs not matching or working. When we brought this to the sales team's attention they told us that Jaymi the woman who dealt with maintenance issues was away for a day. Jaymi never phoned and only communicated by email. She said she'd send a maintenance person and we left keys in lock box for him so that while we were out during the day he could come over to address issues. No visit during the day. At 7 pm someone with no ID arrived unannounced to deal with issues. He didn't have the itemized list I emailed her so I went over the items individually with him. I felt badly for him since he really wasn't getting the support and help from his management team and they used him as their go between to deflect issues. They offered to clean, but by then we'd cleaned ourselves since we didn't want to be bothered with people around while on vacation. The sofa is not meant to be relaxing. You'll break your back on it. Jaymi told us that was typical Hawaiian decor. The unit should have been properly inspected between guests stays for cleanliness and to ensure TVs and other appliances were clean and in working order. There clearly is no proactive maintenance management in place. I tried reaching out to both the firmPresident Donna and her daughter Robyn who manages the rentals. Neither had the decency to contact me to understand my concerns with their organization. I write this review as a warning to those considering renting from or renting their own units through this company. They obviously do not put customers' interests first. Sad to say! Most Motel 6's have higher maintenance standards than those of Ocean View Rentals. read more

Oceanfront-Southebys real estate rental in Princeville, Kauai at Mauna Kai (7B) was a disgusting, dirty, moldy, under construction, old, outdated rental. The rental company is difficult to get ahold of as well. This property was misrepresented and misinformation was given. I look at the site today and it is still misrepresented. The pictures look great, not at all like the actual condo. It is not within walking distance from the beach, because you could not safely walk on a path or on the road to get there. PLEASE don't ruin your vacation by renting from these people. They have no conscience and you will be grossed out everyday you come home. read more

They were very accommodating in every respect..they moved us from a unit we had rented with another management company into a unit in the Hanalei Bay Resort which they managed. They did everything possible to get us into a new unit because the one we had booked had unexpected construction noise. There was an issue with one of the units, but Oceanfront (specifically Jaymie) immediately took care of it, despite it being Christmas Eve. A truly awful experience. We rented one of Ocenafront Realty's houses, Hale Malapua,for $400 a night on the north shore of Kauai, where my family has been vacationing for the past thirty years. (although we never rented from Oceanfront before). The house was filthy when we arrived. The floors, old and cracked linoleum to begin with, were so dirty the bottoms of our feet had to be washed after walking on it. Our beds had not been changed. My daughter's sheets had hairs on them and there was a blood spot on the cover (ew!). The furniture is old and in disrepair. A chair actually collapsed when my wife, a slender lady, sat on it. It's impossible to get comfortable. Although the weather the week we were there was quite mild by Kauai standards the house was stifling during the day. There are no walls between the rooms, just dividers that go about three quarters of the way towards the ceiling so that there is absolutely no privacy. They advertise that the house sleeps six, but that's a flat out lie, at best it sleeps four (they changed the ad when I pointed this out). If you don't drive your recyclables 26 miles away you get charged. One wonders what you're paying for. Check out time is 10 am except you don't know this until they call you the day you are to leave, and if you don't get out on time you're charged an extra day. When I brought these problems to management's attention their attitude, to be generous, was callous and condescending. My advise: stay away from this organization like it has the plague. read more

I recently rented a Princeville condo through Oceanfront Realty. We had a mediocre experience. This was really not due to Oceanfront, but because the neighbors above our condo believed it their right to begin a marching band each morning at 5 AM. Sometimes they waited until 6 AM. We talked with Oceanfront, they spoke with the property manager who spoke with the upstairs heavy-footed and selfish residents--all to no avail. I leave this holiday exhausted because it was not possible to sleep in the mornings. What would I expect Oceanfront to do? Honestly, I do believe they tried, but now knowing how bad this situation is, they are under an obligation to warn others of the rude and boorish behavior of these upstairs tenants. Each person I spoke with at Oceanfront was professional in their approach, so this review is not to be reflective of them, but of the situation with this condo. As I was ultimately advised: ask if there are people above you. Apparently this is the best you can do because once you are there, well, you are without recourse. read more
