I came to Abbeys carpet while I was getting some quotes for flooring, Stephanie made sure that she was giving me the best price she could and she was very detailed about her material information. EDITED REVIEW 5/20/2024: Editing my original review however keeping with 3 stars. We will not be a repeat customer of Abbey's Carpet nor recommend the company. The great reviews on Google is what lead us to use Abbey's Carpet instead of big box stores such as Lowes or Home Depot however we had multiple issues with poor communication as we (the customers) had to reach out several times to receive the DocuSign (2x), schedule installation (3x) along with getting the installer to come back to fix a spot (2x). After my original post, Ken (the owner) reached out to me and wanted to make sure I was happy with the install so an appointment was made to review a troublesome spot. Although the troublesome area was corrected and it was pointed out to us that it was a closet track issue not an installer issue, however I do feel that Ken was very condescending and not willing to listen to concerns I had with other issues we encountered. We were made to feel as if we were in the wrong on every aspect to include the companies poor communication. We even offered to forward the email communications to Ken to show how we were the ones constantly initiating communications to move forward however that was declined. Overall, we are happy with the quality of the carpet that was installed. We just feel like the customer shouldn't have to be chasing the salesperson to complete the job. read more

Oceanside Abbey did our floors in 2016, and they are still going great. Recently, we had a small issue where one of the flooring laminates was coming away from the floor. Even though the issue wasn't covered by the warranty any longer, the manager came out himself and fixed the problem, good as new. Ken is really easy to work, great communicator, he will come out to your home and bring samples which is very convenient. We had a great experience at our other home using Abby Carpet, then we moved and went through our decorator and have since learned that was a mistake. Abby's prices are so much more reasonable. We recently had a small flood and called Ken to replace carpet and get new blinds for husbands office, they carry the same brands as decorators and as I said Ken is so easy to work with. This was the second time we used this firm. They first time they sold us and install carpeting in our Master bedroom. This time we needed flooring for two bathrooms. They had a wide range of materials from which to select. They sent a person to take measurements. He arrived on time. When they materials arrived, they were exactly what we ordered. The installer did a great job in both bathrooms and left the place spotless. We ordered top quality materials and spent more that we had budgeted. We just had Abbey Carpet Floor install carpet and Luxury Vinyl Planking (LVP) on about 1200 Sq ft in hour house.. LVP was installed in the living room, master bedroom, office and guest bedroom. New carpeting was installed on the stairs and upstairs hallway. I'll start with the customer service provided by LJ in the showroom when came in "just to look" on a Saturday afternoon. He was extremely polite, cordial and knowledgeable. He picked up very quickly on what we were looking for. We actually made a decision on the LVP and carpet in one day!! The installation crew of Jason and Richard were awesome!!! Jason is extremely meticulous and detail oriented. He offered great advice on how to make the install look as good as possible. He was a true professional in all respects. Thank you for a great experience that typically could have been very stressful. I couldn't be more pleased with the high quality work that has completely transformed our home. We decided to rid ourselves of our aging and tearing faux Berber carpeting and on the advice of our designer, Connie Walsh, asked Oceanside Abbey to do the work. It was a big job - over 2,400 square feet of Tuscany hickory hardwood, chosen because the color went perfectly with the travertine we have downstairs and because of its ability to resist scratches and wear. Installer Jason Franklin and his crack team of installers did an outstanding job, to the point where me - the ultimate nitpicker - couldn't find a single thing that needed redoing when the final inspection came around. Jason and his team also finished in time and brought in a stellar crew to do our stairs - which are so beautiful that a week after completion I still find myself at the top landing, staring down and admiring the quality of the work. The stairs were not easy, with lots of curves, but the job that was done is simply flawless. There are other little things as well: in my closet, lined with cedar, Jason went out of his way to find beading that perfectly matched, instead of using beading he had earmarked for other areas in the house. The job was finished exactly on time, and Jason and crew went room by room, so once they were done with one room I could clean and rearrange furniture while they went on to the next one. This company also has a lot of integrity. A friend of mine knows the company that provided the wood, and was able to get a discounted price. In my next conversation with Ken Calkin, the owner, before I could even mention this he said "You must know someone because they reduced the price of the wood, and I'm going to pass the savings on to you." He did precisely that - to the penny! (Yes, I checked. I am like that.) I highly recommend this company - they did an absolutely superb job. After my longtime canine companion passed and went to puppy heaven I decided to finally make some long anticipated improvements to my home. Bucking the current trend to install laminated flooring, I chose to install new carpeting in my two bedrooms and my living room. Being kind of OCD, it took me some additional time to decide on the color and type of carpet to purchase. Working with L.J. Fimbres was a blessing, and he made my selection process much easier. He is very knowledgeable and was quite patient with me, since I borrowed an endless number sample to take home. He is very engaging and an excellent salesman. On installation day I was very fortunate to have Pedro and Richie be assigned my install. Both gentlemen were very courteous and sensitive to my concerns when moving the bigger furniture pieces. As far as the installation was concerned, they were very efficient and always kept the floorspace as clean as possible. Upon completion, the carpet was beautiful and there was no residual carpet material anywhere to be found. Very clean installation. The final product was exactly as L.J. had promised and I was completely satisfied with my purchase and my dealings with Abbey Carpets. SO glad we chose Oceanside Abbey Carpet for our new flooring! I told Stephanie, our customer service rep, that I wish I needed more flooring just to use them again! We had 4 bedrooms redone with new carpet, and our LR/DR area done with vinyl flooring that looks just like dark wood. It's beautiful and we couldn't be happier. Everything was done in 3 days. The installers were friendly and extremely efficient, moving all furniture out of the way. (It was our job to remove everything but furniture.) They also installed new baseboard, caulking and finished to perfection. Stephanie helped us in the showroom, pointing out choices, and came to the house the next day to measure the rooms. August 14, 2020 On July 28, I finalized purchase of hardwood flooring with Ken Calkin, from Abbey Flooring in Oceanside. There are so many positives about this entire experience that it's difficult to keep my review short, but I will try. Ken arrived [on time] with samples we had discussed over the phone. When I had made a selection, the wood was ordered. Ken said he'd let me know when it was ready for delivery & installation. Within a week, I got that call and work began. Ken is a Marine Corps veteran who has been with Abbey for 20+ years. That along with his professional demeanor reassured me that I had made a good call. I admit that the idea of getting a handyman to install the flooring crossed my mind--a lot of people would. But in retrospect, seeing the difficulty of leveling floors, removing and re-installing baseboards, cutting with precision, and God knows what else, I wholeheartedly recommend Abbey's flooring professionals, especially Jason. Jason also has been in the business over 20 years. Jason Franklin (and his crew of Richard and Ethan) came on time, every day. Jason texted me if they were running late, getting things they needed for the job. He kept me updated daily and made installation suggestions that would enhance my home. Turned out that made his work more difficult, but it was the right way. Every afternoon, areas where they'd worked were swept and cleaned, including driveway and patio. I was comfortable leaving for work, giving Jason my garage remote so he could lock up. Every day, doors and windows were closed and locked. Jason always left a path for me to negotiate the organized chaos. When each area was completed, the guys replaced the furniture where they'd found it, with felt pads put on feet to prevent scratching. Jason also gave me the name of wood floor cleaner he recommended, and got me a good mop to use. At the end of the job, Jason provided me with a touchup stick & recommended that I order a box of flooring in case there was a need to patch anywhere in the future. I ordered it. All in all, Jason treated my home as he would his own. Compared to huge jobs they secure (one was over $300,000), I felt like my house was just as important to them. We recently purchased carpeting from Abbey. Our sales person, Stephanie, was very helpful and patient (it took me 6 months and several samples taken home before I picked the one I wanted). She was always upbeat and encouraged us to take samples home so we could see the carpet in the areas of our house where it would be installed. The installation was easy and the installers - Mauricio and his son Mauricio Jr. - were efficient, and considerate of our home. They did a great job and even cut a couple pieces of the scrap for us to use under our old dog's bed. Overall, I would definitely recommend this business.
