A friend who used to live in SB told me that the best jerk chicken in London is at Ochi. So a colleague and I went here and we were floored by how good the food was. I haven't had jerk chicken in London before but I'm doubtful anything can beat this place, and the price. The place itself is very small and there's only two small tables if you don't want to do takeaway. The decor is awesome... lots of pictures of Caribbean celebrities cover all the walls and even the menu sign. We ordered the large jerk chicken plate to share. It came with Caribbean fried rice with beans and one plantain. Would have been better if there were more plantains because it was absolutely delicious. The fried rice was amazing with the soft, tender, well-grilled chicken. The two sauces the dish came with was spicy so if you can't eat spicy don't get the sauce. Will definitely come back (worried I might come back too often) because we each paid 4 pounds each, so 8 total. Insane for London standards. read more

I am so lucky this place was just 2 seconds away from my former home. From the day we moved in, our landlord said 'you must try Ochi, it is the best' it took me a while before we actually tried it but then it became an often acquisition. It is home made Caribbean food which for me translates into latin american home made food. Huge factor of why it became so popular in my house. Very much like the Caribbean, this small take away is an island in itself, always frequented by Caribbean nationals and other non nationals alike. Their jerk Chicken is divine and it is served with cassava, rice and black beans. Take a banana cake also to complement the perfect meal, all for under a tenner. If you are on the run try the patties, veggie, chicken, beef or fish they are all lovely at £1 each. At one point they used to have all their walls covered with Caribbean artists and even Jamelia and Usher's autographs dedicated to their food, but they took them down. What an incredible place. I stumbled upon it late one Friday night after a couple of drinks and fell in love with its no-nonsense manner and great food. We had the curried goat and the jerk chicken and, to palates more used to vindaloos and kebabs. were blown away by the strong spicy flavours and the irrepressible gaminess of the goat. Whilst we were there several people came in asking for 'Cow Foot Soup' which would seem to be of legendary status. So if it's on when you are there you should try some. Not the best jerk chicken I've ever had. I had the small £5 takeaway. Cheap, yes. But the rice & peas were gluey; the chicken was dry and flavourless. There was this ketchup-like hot sauce splashed on top which added a bit of flavour...but it was still distinctly ketchup-y. read more

Slightly tucked away in Shepherds Bush area of London is a terrific and intensely real Jamaican getaway from the local hub bub. I was traveling with some Rastas and we somehow gravitated to Oche on autopilot. I have been to Jamaica a couple of times and dove right in to the local cuisine. Give me all of the curried goat, sour sop drinks, stewed calves brains, whatever! I like it all. Oche Caribbean Takeaway pretty much nails it on the head with all of the various menu items we had. I was actually shocked it was so close. The Salt Fish was easily my favorite. With the rice and everything else, the fresh plantains they added took it to the next level. I wasn't incredibly hungry and the servings were huge but I ate every bite. I paid for it too after that rice started expanding in my stomach I thought it was going to pop. Oche does not take credit cards - quid only, and parking seems like it could be a disaster. There is also a nice fresh produce market across the street under the tressle. Enjoy! read more

Reheated food in a microwave with the worst possible service one could hope for. I've been living in Shepherds Bush for 10 years, and this is one of the restaurants that will not serve non Afro Caribbean in a regular manner. They delight in being rude to you. BUT, their food is also stale and old, and you can see and hear them reheating it in a microwave. There is much better food in the area, if you're smart, you will avoid this food poisoning den. read more

Decent Jamaican shop, customer service can be a lil rude at times especially when you're polite to them so it's actually best to approach the counter with a lil aggression if you want good service (backwards I know) but it works read more

Authentic tasting traditional west Indian food, very generous portions if taking a large meal home to eat, seriously you better have a large plate ready. Polite friendly staff, good quick service Halal meat so Muslims can feel comfortable and enjoy the meal equally. read more

Not sure if it's just because I'm a white man but when I ask for extra sauce on my Jerk Chicken why do you guys choose to dump a load of nasty tomato ketchup on the side. Surely if I have ordered jerk chicken I mean jerk sauce. It's not rocket science.
