Lowe's Home Improvement - Lowe's refused to take it back to give me a new one

Lowe's Home Improvement

This store has made my life so hard…read more I bought a front door from them for almost 2000 dollars. They sent someone to measure my front door to have a specific size made. Then they called and told me they had purchased a standard door and asked if they could try and fit it on anyway. I said no, and they acted like it was some crazy inconvenience that I wanted what I paid for. I just got a refund for everything. A few months later I made an online order of 120+ cinder blocks. 24 pieces of rebar and some mortar. I had to come pick up the rebar and mortar, wouldn't deliver, fine. I asked the associate if there were 24 pieces of rebar and he said yes. Got home and there were only 18. 45 of my blocks were delivered from another store. They actually came. The rest of my 80+ blocks I ordered may 19. They said they would come on the 27th. Then the 29th. Then the June 3rd, then June 5th. And now they say I'll get them June 12th. I'm not sure I believe they are coming at all. The store is a half mile away from my home. Totally screwed up the timeline for my construction project. Don't know how I will get it done this summer. This store has cost me money multiple times in the last 3 months and it's driving me crazy

I tried calling Lowe's main number and then called this local store. No one helped. The AI tools lied to me. The call center lied to me. Local Lowe's apologized, but couldn't fix it. They said that I should call their delivery contractor and ask for my stuff. I called my credit card and disputed the charges instead. This is HORRIBLE customer support.

Rick was on top of his game at all times. Always answered the phone or was sure to call back within couple minutes. Office ladies, and scheduler's were awesome. I really was happy with the installation and especially the installation crews. Great group of guys. Showed up 15 minutes early everyday with a smile, and ready to go to work. I strongly recommend this company for your remodeling projects, or new builds. Great company.

I'll keep this as brief as possible and stick to the facts. Macadam installed new carpet for us. It…read morewasn't a small job: we paid around $13k for it. We worked with Angel in the office, Sean in the field, and Jessica ran the carpet crew that performed the install. The morning of the install, Sean informed us they couldn't find the carpet. They lost the carpet! We had the house all boxed up, our dog and kids were away for the day, and we even had professional movers over to help disassemble and move a large entertainment center. Macadam eventually found our carpet, but two weeks had passed by the time it was able to get installed. This was not the only issue we had with Macadam. First, the crew took pictures of themselves pretending to play my son's guitar (and other similar pictures with our things). Jessica said they take pictures like that sometimes for their professional social media accounts. It made me very uncomfortable. Second, they damaged and repaired our bedroom door and never told us. The repair work is highly visible (at least it's low on the door). Third, there are visible seams in the carpet. Fourth, when they attempted to repair the seams, they asked if they could cut carpet from another part of the house to use in the repair. We said no. They ignored our wishes and cut carpet from several rooms when we weren't around. We know this because (a) they left carpet scraps from the cutting and (b) the area where the carpet meets the wall looks worse than before. Fifth, the carpet they cut from was in rooms with closed doors, including a bedroom and walk-in closet with laundry and pets. They entered closed off rooms without asking and performed work we said not to do. Sixth, even after the repair, there are still visible seams in the carpet. Seventh, we let Angel know about all these issues and Macadam offered what we consider to be an inappropriately small reduction to our bill (including a small cash discount and not charging us for moving furniture). FWIW, our interior designer, who has a lot of experience working on projects like this, thought a 50% reduction in the total bill was appropriate just based on the hassle caused by the lost carpet (ripple effect with other projects we had going on). She didn't know about any of the other issues when she made that statement. Given that the quality of the work was far below our expectations, the incompetence around losing the carpet, directly ignoring our wishes w/r/t cutting the carpet, and the invasion of privacy from entering closed rooms and taking pictures with our belongings, we will not use Macadam for a carpet project again. Moreover, I wouldn't let anyone from that crew back in my house for any reason. Two stars because even though this project fell far below our expectations, it's still nice carpet.

Finally, we picked out the Quartz countertop and couldn't be happier! The measurements were precise and taken by a very experienced technician. They kept us in the loop and setting up the install was very easy! The installers were wonderful and did a fabulous job. Even having it done at the beach (which is always difficult to get anything done) I highly recommend them (which we have already done with the neighbors)

These people gouged my kitchen wall while installing a countertop and wouldn't repair it or cover…read morethe cost of repair. They told me it was something that could happen during installation. Five years later, the undermount kitchen sink they installed in the same granite countertop dropped and caused a leak. I had a plumber come out and he video'd the mounts they used to install the sink and thought the length of the wood they used was too short. We both thought the bracket may have failed because of that. I called precision and told them what happened and supplied them with pics and video. They wanted to charge me to come out and reinstall the sink and, by the way, if plumbing had to be removed and then re-installed, that would require a visit from a plumber. I asked another countertop installer to come fix the sink but they won't touch other people's mistakes. My sink is being held in place by a car jack. At least the plumber fixed my leak.

Hillsboro Ace Hardware - Cheap material don't buy here

Hillsboro Ace Hardware

The best thing this Ace has going for it is the location which is a five star…read more The staff is not very knowledgeable so for that I'd have to give them a three star. But, they also don't try very hard so even though their knowledge is not there (as compared to, for example, the Aloha Ace Hardware) instead of seeking help from other staff in the store or working more to understand the problem, they basically say, "good luck with that". I'm writing this review from multiple experiences so I'm summarizing a bit but, for example: sometimes I come in because I'm doing a DIY project and I need something, let's say landscaping stakes. I'm sort of making this up just to illustrate the point. So I explain this, I want to make my own landscaping stakes. Here's how this would go at the Aloha Ace Hardware: Helpful hardware wo/man: "Ok, so you want something to stick in the ground so that you can hold things down like drip lines or landscaping cloth?" Me: "Yup, exactly." Helpful hardware wo/man: "OK, let's go over here and look at our wire. How about this, will that work?" Me: "Well, I think it's too small, it won't be strong enough" Helpful hardware wo/man: "Hm, ok, let's look over here. Here's some aluminum flat stock. Could you cut this up and use it like stakes?" Me: "That's a good idea but it looks like it will be too expensive." Helpful hardware wo/man: "Have you considered using wire coat hangers?" Me: "We only have wood and plastic hangers". Helpful hardware wo/man: "You know, I think you can get those on Amazon for something like $15 for 100. Would that work?" Break. Ok, so here's how that whole thing would work (theoretically, again, I'm just summarizing many different experiences, this particular one is made up) at the 25th ave store: 25TH Ave hardware wo/man: "We don't sell landscaping stakes." Me: "Oh, ok, do you sell anything like them?" 25TH Ave hardware wo/man: "Like camping stakes? No, we don't sell any camping gear." Me: "No, I mean, do you sell something I could use to make these things?" 25TH Ave hardware wo/man: "What are you looking for?" Break. In reality, I don't think this is a staff problem it's a management problem. Here, there is not your typical Ace mentality of "tell me your problem, I WILL help you" it's more like: "Tell me what you want and I'll tell you what aisle to look for it." I want this store to be successful but unfortunately, it's sort of a last resort for me and when I go it's fully with the expectation that I'm in this not so big warehouse store, on my own. Sometimes, I feel like I'm better off in a huge warehouse store, on my own, since there at least I have more options to look through. Overall, I would really give this store a two star but that's such a poor score and I want to help the store survive so I'm going to game the system and give it a three star.

The truck turned around in my driveway and hit my mailbox, smashing the box and knocking it off the post.. My neighbors sent photos that day to the reps they had been dealing with and I spoke with one of them the next day and was assured I would hear from someone within a couplecof days. In the meantime, I had no mailbox and was given a notice from the post office that they could not deliver my mail. I did not hear from anyone at Parr so I called after 3 days and asked if I could just buy a replacement andcsendcthem a receipy. "Absolutely: So I bought a new box and bracket and texted the receipt. 2 weeks go by and I call. So far everyone has been very friendly but no one has said they are sending a check or apologized. The rep was annoyed (probably because he had passed it to his boss) and said I should call the boss. I did. No reply. So I called the rep again who says he's busy, the boss is busy and they have "95 more important things to deal with." So I call the store and ask for customer service. After exp laing what happened, I get a call from an assistant manager who assures me he will send a check Thursday - He was very nice. it was Monday. Then he tells me no incident report was filed and asks me to email him the receipt. I do, along with the photos. He replies asking for my address. I send it. It is now nearly the end of October and no check, no phone call, no apology. So, it seems the people at Parr Lumber are well trained at being kind, with one exception which I can forgive, but they do not follow through or follow up. Very disappointing experience.
