A tlacoyo sounds pretty good: A Mexican dish made of masa, thicker than fresh corn tortillas and are stuffed with cheese, fava beans, cooked ground beans, chicharron, and other ingredients before being fried or toasted. The restaurant was bright with papel picado on the ceiling and lively reggaeton music. You order at the counter, and can get burritos, tacos, bowls. I did not order a tlacoyo but instead got a barbacoa bowl with lettuce. The barbacoa (lamb) was a little stringy (the texture of lamb?) although it was tender and had a nice flavor. Without rice or beans it was a little liquidy in the bowl (my fault perhaps because I omitted rice), although it could have been the sauce they suggested and I liked it. I also ordered an horchata but it was too sweet for me. This was fun and a good option although I think next time I should try tacos instead.

They have fresh and delicious food, a clean facility, and kind and welcoming staff! The guacamole is a must-try. Don't be a fool and get a small size because you'll find yourself wanting more! They provide consistently great food and many options and combinations. They serve you quickly without sacrificing quality or proportions. I look forward to working my way through the extensive menu options!

Might've been good had they read the directions. Meat and cheese only. Need to add more characters...well I was starving and coworker said it was good but you messed the main order up.

Hadn't been in a while & they've since updated their menu! I tried the burrito this time. You add whatever ingredients you want to your burrito! They're huge! Everything is so fresh!

Wander in to find a friendly, tasty taco etc. emporium. You can choose the number of tacos you want. The items are generously filled. Delicious! The servers are happy to see you. Simple. Great!

Ok, so the food was good! But they lack in customer service! I had the taco bowel with a tea. The tea was good as well but pick your battles sometimes it at worth the negativity. That's why I only gave them 3 stars...

Parking is easy as it's located in a strip mall with plenty of spaces. It can get busy around 12PM. Food wise, it's ok, portions are generous. However carne asada is a little dry and cut into tiny pieces. Not my favorite cut of beef, this isn't some juicy outside skirt steak you get at some places. The al pastor is better for sure. A burrito or taco dinner with no drinks will run you about $20 so it's in line with most places as far as pricing is concerned maybe slight pricey for the type of joint this is. No free chips and salsa its a express shit down and go spot.I wish they had free water but they don't. Service is pretty good, they like to bring the food out to your table after you order but don't give you a number and on several occasions they have walked around asking if this your food. Just make it more efficient and give out numbers! Ive also had orders taken incorrectly. Co worker ordered taco dinner, I heard him, and just tacos came. When he asked about it the cashier was like "No you didn't but I'll get it for you", I know he did cause I was right there. Same happened to me, they always make it right but with comment like it's the customers fault. Take accountability guys. Overall the place is good and with small changes it can be much better. 1. Provide free water 2. Better skirt steak 3. Give numbers

I came across the reviews of Guzman y Gomez on Yelp, and it sounded great, and we decided to try it. When I looked it up, I found out that if I ordered through the app we could start earning rewards, so we did this, and went inside to pick up the order and eat. Everything was ready and waiting in a large bag for us to pick up. We grabbed it at the pick up window, and went into the dining area to sit and eat. I ordered two tacos, and my husband got a burrito. With the tacos, I chose ground beef, and chose mild on the seasoning. They were very good, although I think next time I'll try spicy and see if I like that even better. But what set them apart was that the taco shells themselves had some taco seasoning on them that was delicious. The tacos also just had the basics, which is how I like them - meat, cheese, and salsa. And two were plenty for me, very substantial. My husband tried the ground beef burrito, which was huge. He could only eat half, and took the other half to eat later. He said he enjoyed it a lot. We were looking forward to going back, but I read just now that all the Chicago locations have closed as of today. That's a shame, because we really liked it a lot.

On a rainy Thursday night, we finally had a chance to check it out because we wanted a quick and easy meal before heading to the Art exhibition opening in the Northbrook Public Library close by. The restaurant was not busy at the time. There was only 1 table occupied. After we settled down, there was another small table taken. Our waitress was friendly, but after she brought the Miller Light for my husband and a draft beer "Fist City" for our daughter, she forgot about my lemonade. I had to remind her when she brought our food. She also just brought 1 Fish Taco when my daughter ordered 2, and had to place another order again. Not a big deal. When we left and passed by her, she didn't say anything like thank you or good bye, just looking at us. It was a little awkward. Well, maybe she's just not very outgoing. Hope that I was not expecting too much from a little eatery. Now on to the tacos. There were hits and misses. The Crispy Avocado Taco was very good! It's my first time tasting fried avocado, crispy and flavorful! I would order that again! However, the lamb in the Lamb Carnitas Taco was bland and rather dry. it's the first time that I ever had lamb that had no flavor. Although the mango slaw had a nice crunch, tart and refreshing, and went well with the lamb meat, it was skimpy and not enough to top all the meat. I joked to my husband that maybe that's the taste of munching on cardboard! I don't like to waste food and I wasn't full, but I could not continue eating, and had to waste half of the lamb taco. Husband thought that his Blackened Salmon Taco was OK, but his Steak Taco was not, since every bite of steak had gristle. He was surprised since that was supposed to be their signature taco. Daughter's 2 Fish tacos were good, except that she didn't like the flour taco shells. She prefers corn taco shells. My lamb taco had corn taco shells (2 layers) and the crispy avocado had flour shells. I love supporting local businesses and really planned to give Eataco 5 stars before we came, but had to deduct 1 star after we dined in. However, when I read more reviews afterward and found that many customers enjoyed the 2 bottles of salsa (1 green and 1 red) that came with the tacos, and we had no condiments of any kind on our table. Should I had a bottle of salsa, the Lamb Carnitas would have been edible. Unfortunately, I had to deduct another star. Our overall experience at Eataco was not bad, it took us only 55 minutes for the meal. It fits the bill when you need something quick and simple.
